Blizzcon 2009 Day 1
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 24th of August 2009 - 06:01 PM ]
Never have I been in a place where I have seen so many nerds, geeks, and dorks in one area. Oh wait, yeah I have, as E3 and Comic-con were the other places. Just in case you didn't notice, Blizzard held their now annual event, Blizzcon, at the Anaheim Convention Center on August 21st and 22nd. Thousands of nerds, geeks, and dorks all gathered to see, play, and talk about Blizzard's 3 main franchises; Starcraft, Waracraft and Diablo. Friday morning, as I arrived to the convention center the first thing you would see are the nerds, geeks, and dorks waiting in line. Some of which stayed overnight to be one of the first few to get into the center. Read More…

Here Comes The Evil Pumpkins
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 24th of August 2009 - 03:20 PM ]
Bright Shadow Coming To The U.S. While Blizzcon has come and gone and only a few announcements for the worlds largest MMO were made, that doesn't mean that other companies weren't working on making a few big splashes. Some of the big splashes to get a rather interesting Anime-styled MMO to North America for the first time ever. Not to mention the second game that Gamepot is bringing to North America. This MMO I am talking about is Bright Shadow. Read More…

Goozex Enhances Service With Movie Trading
by Michael Camacho [ Monday, 24th of August 2009 - 12:39 PM ]
Videogame trading website, Goozex.com, launched their brand new movie trading service last Monday, August 17th. The decision to add this service onto the Goozex experience has pleased many of the sites members, and has seen quick success in only a week's time. Members can easily trade DVDs, Blu-Ray, UMDs and even the deceased HD-DVDs, proving that the Goozex Team truly understands its audience. Goozex movie trading uses the same formula as the videogame trading. All movies have a set point price and rise and fall due to supply and demand, and as always it only costs 1 trade credit to receive a movie. Read More…

Beatles: Rock Band, Guitar Hero 5 Pricing on Wii Setting Bad Precedent
by Brian Bentley [ Sunday, 23rd of August 2009 - 05:07 AM ]
Toys, pack-ins, gimmicks, add-ons and peripherals are all words that are not unknown or unheard of to Nintendo Wii owners’ ears.  Since the console’s launch in 2006, a great many guns zappers, dance pads, microphones, etc., have been bundled with Wii games filling living rooms to capacity -- especially with the onset of rhythm games.  Even Nintendo’s best-selling game, WiiPlay is merely a controller with a $10 tech demo, and there has always been a premium attached to the bundles that have exceeded the normal price point for a Wii game at $49.99. Nanosuit 2 For Sale
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of August 2009 - 10:34 PM ]
Crysis 2 Teasers Ok, well it isn't really for sale. At least not in the real world. But from watching the below video clips you could think otherwise. Well kind of. Well maybe if you were a little bit special, and not the kind that mom use to say you were. But I digress. Crytek and EA are starting with the viral-ish type promotions a bit early here. They utilize a well-worn concept  used back when the first Resident Evil film was starting to be pimped out. A nice little video or two showcasing something that looks like a real product just to entice fans and anyone really interested in the game. Read More…

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - Ultimate Character Reveal (The Thing)
by Jesse [ Friday, 21st of August 2009 - 08:10 PM ]
For villains of the Marvel Universe, the phrase “It’s clobberin’ time!” is the signal that Aunt Petunia’s favourite blue-eyed nephew is ready to start laying a beating on someone. Growing up on Yancy St. in New York, Benjamin Grimm had a rough early life. His older brother died while Ben was just eight years old and he was sent to live with his Uncle Jake & Aunt Petunia. Ben earned a football scholarship to Empire State University where he met his future best friend and teammate Reed Richards. Following graduation, Ben went into the Air Force and trained to become a test pilot. Read More…

Now Is The Time To Forge Your Legend
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of August 2009 - 05:34 PM ]
Guild Wars 2 Trailer Who wants to see what Guild Wars 2 is going to look like? I know I do. With this new video I thought I was going to be let down a bit. In fact about half way through I started to wonder if there was going to be anything more than just "still frames" (Animatics) with a narration of the goings on in the game world. Being a stubborn person I pushed on with the video to find, indeed there is some good game footage for us to pine over. Some really good footage. Read More…

by Kevin [ Thursday, 20th of August 2009 - 08:07 PM ]
With all of the news flooding out of the Sony camp a lot of people have been curious to see if the Home service is going to receive any measure of attention. Well, they have heard your cries and have offered up a wealth of information courtesy of the official blog. The list of features are as follows: Universal Game Launching: "You can now launch into any PlayStation 3 game directly from Home. New LBP DLC Will Totally Get You Wet
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 20th of August 2009 - 05:05 PM ]
Sack it to Me – the "Big Announcements" Edition You ever hop into the level creator for LittleBigPlanet and feel like there was something missing. Something that stopped you from being able to faithfully recreate the entire game of Super Mario Bros. using their sandbox. Something you couldn't quite place your finger on. Something you had to muddle around with the jet packs a bit to get to work correctly as well as run a blue tint over the entire screen for immersion's sake. Ok, enough of that and on to the point. I Got A Great Big Bow Here
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 20th of August 2009 - 11:32 AM ]
Hades Boss Fight Round 2 So on Monday we were able to give you a nice view of what the Lord of the Dead would be looking like. We've seen him only in a few minor shots in the God of War FMVs before that. But now we get one further peek at how this epic boss/boss fight will look and feel. All of this through some more screen shots from the game and what is being shown at GamesCom. I know it is all Hades vs. Kratos in those shots there, but it still looks amazingly stunning. It's A Story... Of A Clan Named Belmont...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 20th of August 2009 - 03:56 AM ]
Konami Unmasks the Belmont Clan in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Just in case you forgot about the Castlevania game that has Hideo Kojima attached to it, due to being hit in the head with a baseball bat, let's give you a reminder. Yes, the man of Metal Gear Solid fame has his hands in the game. Yes, there are a lot of big names doing some of the Voice Overs. Yes it is a very well done looking next gen version of the franchise. But that was all that people knew of when they first announced and gave a short tease at E3 this year. Read More…
