by Juliet Meyer [ Friday, 10th of October 2025 - 09:00 PM ]
Magic Magic: The Gathering is getting another big crossover with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles getting their own Magic cards The Magic: The Gathering fun expands even further out there with a new crossover with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles next year. Even though pre-orders are being served up hot right now, you can make sure that you are able to get these heroes in a half-shell on March 6th, 2026, if that is something you need to do. Granted, there are many other options like this coming to Magic, so it would make sense if you needed to skip this one. It's just worth noting for all of those TMNT fans out there that they can get the core four and many other characters from the IP mixed in, along with some new art that can only be picked up in this way. Magic: The Gathering And How I Got Pulled Back In
by Raymond Bruels [ Monday, 21st of July 2025 - 05:00 PM ]
Magic Let's take a trip to MagicCon 2025 and how it pulled me right back into the fun of Magic: The Gathering Magic: The Gathering, that seminal work by Dr. Richard Garfield had a major impact on my life. A high school buddy introduced me to the game around Unlimited Edition, and we would regularly trade Arabian Nights and Antiquities cards. I loved Legends and The Dark, but around Fallen Empires, I started to get disillusioned. I had gotten into Type 2 tournaments, introduced numerous friends to the game, and watched as stores around Warrensburg; Missouri began running tournaments. Read More...

I Got To Spend 45 (ish) Minutes With Chris Perkins At SDCC
by Thomas Harris [ Monday, 31st of July 2023 - 07:00 PM ]
D&D I was able to check out the Secrets of D&D Dungeon Mastering with Chris Perkins and learned much more about D&D At SDCC this year, I was one of the fortunate folks who got to attend the Dungeons & Dragons wiseman Chris Perkins discussion of how to be a (or be a better) Dungeon Master. I say fortunate due to the line to get in being so vast there are probably still people waiting to get in as write this over a week later. I showed up to Room 29CD for Secrets of D&D Dungeon Mastering with Chris Perkins over an hour and a half early due a combination of being unable to get into a panel on the fungus in The Last Of Us and its likelihood of ever actually happening plus my personal anxiety to never be late to anything. When I arrived, I found a sizeable yet reasonable line. Read More...

Review: Magic The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014
by Kenton Winkfield [ Thursday, 22nd of August 2013 - 10:20 PM ]
Back in April, I wrote an article showcasing what I had seen of Magic The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014 during my interview at PAX East. I had been waiting for the game to be released so I could hop into it and get my first look at the new Magic The Gathering 2014 Core Set expansion since, as always, I knew that all MTG players will get their first look and get to play with the cards first in DOTP. I was also excited to see what the new game type would be, since the last two games introduced Archenemy and Planeschase. When the day Magic The Gathering: Duels of The Planeswalkers 2014 released, I immediately lost myself in the game. Read More...

by Kenton Winkfield [ Monday, 22nd of April 2013 - 10:00 PM ]
I was insanely excited to go to the Wizards of the Coast Booth at PAX East this year. Last year I skipped it because I thought they were only showing off expansions for Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012. I learned shortly after that they were actually showing off alpha stages of Magic: DOTP 2013. I was not going to make that mistake again this year. I did by a bag last year from their booth thought, and this year I bought a shirt. Read More...
