Take A Glimpse Into Final Fantasy XIV
by Kevin [ Thursday, 17th of December 2009 - 03:27 PM ]
Well, the beta test application site for Final Fantasy XIV has opened up, and while the beta may only be for the PC, it is a great chance for those interested to poke around in what could be a fantastic MMO experience. For the curious, the requirements are: Be at least 18 years of age Possess a Square Enix ID account (Register for a Square Enix ID account here, if you don't have one already) Possess an internet connection Be capable of downloading large amounts of data Be capable of submitting bug reports in either Japanese, English, French, or German Like any other beta test, there will be several waves and opportunities to enter the beta so don't be discouraged if you don't make it in initially. For those looking for the PS3 experience, it seems that will be revealed "at a later date." Despite that, 2010 is going to be the year for this game's release, and I, for one, am excited. Aggro Attractions: Games Coming Soon
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 15th of December 2009 - 04:10 PM ]
A lot of people were disappointed by the recent Video Game Awards held on Spike TV, and in most cases the disappointment is very much deserved. Although the award ceremony was filled with professionals and had some fantastic exclusives to premier, it still comes off as very much forced and not at all exciting. Fortunately, for the gaming audience there were some great trailers shown. As Binh said in a great article that covered the results of the show, the true stars were the trailers. Read More...

Dante's Inferno Is Taking The PS3 To Hell Early
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 11th of December 2009 - 03:42 AM ]
So in a time where exclusives can greatly help a console system, as long as the game is going to be a big one, it looks as if Sony just landed themselves half a big fish. A fish that is showing up on the XBox and the PSP as well. But it looks like the best version of Dante's Inferno, the game I'm talking about, is going to be on the PS3 and only the PS3. The next best part, FOR NO ADDITIONAL COST TO US GAMERS. Yea you read that, now love it. Read More...

by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 10th of December 2009 - 02:50 PM ]
Only weeks away from the highly anticipated launch, Darksiders is a post-apocalyptic action-adventure that puts you in the shoes of one of the famed Four Horsemen.  Light and fluffy, I know, but after a couple years since its announcement, Vigil Games has positioned themselves and the game in a very advantageous position in the dawn of the upcoming year.  Also not hurting is the fact that the game looks to be shaping up like it's going to blow your mind.Haydn Dalton, lead designer of the game at Vigil, took a few moments to answer some of the burning questions surrounding the game. You know the storyline.  You know the tricks.  But how is it still so fun?  New Super Mario Bros. Wii is another smash hit in a long line of Mushroom Kingdom mayhem courtesy of Nintendo.  Staying with their desire for accessibility, Nintendo took all the ideas and concepts that made the original Super Mario Bros. 2D platforming franchise a success and used that as the base for New Super Mario Bros. by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 8th of December 2009 - 12:40 AM ]
EA announces today Dead Space 2... again.... formally this time....  That's right your favorite silent hero Isaac Clarke is making a comeback. Although certain people who will remain nameless *cough* Glenn Schofield *cough* have already mentioned back in October that Dead Space would be getting a sequel, it seems Visceral Games wanted an actual press release, just to make it all official and fancy.Visceral Games (Previously known as EA Redwood Shores) have much to say about the new title:“We’re thrilled to jump back into the series, making the next chapter in Isaac’s journey. The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it. Read More...

by Binh Nguyen [ Saturday, 5th of December 2009 - 09:00 PM ]
We all know that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 took away dedicated servers from PC gamers. This is not the case for Shattered Horizon. On December 4th, 2009 Futuremark Games Studio finally allows for a dedicated server for Shattered Horizon, a multiplayer first-person shooter played in zero gravity. At least PC gamers will be able to choose how they want to play Shattered Horizon and who they want to play with. Players will be getting greater protection from cheats, hackers and griefers. Shh. We Got Your Tron Tease. Don't Tell...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 25th of November 2009 - 04:52 AM ]
While not overly impressive as a full video of gameplay or what is going on the game, that will come later at the VGA's, what we do have is a little sneak peek at what the video game of a movie about a killer video game may be have with in the lines of code. Yea, that was a stretch for a very lack luster attempt at a joke. In any instance, if you are interested in being teased with very little actual game play or story shots for the game part of the new film Tron, then below is something for you. It is a short promo showing off a little bit of the fact that there will be light cycles in the game. Read More...

Mass We Pray is the 6th circle of Hell
by Corey Dockendorf [ Sunday, 22nd of November 2009 - 03:30 AM ]
Dante's Inferno has been this year's king of the publicity stunts. If you've been keeping up with gaming news this year, you would have seen Christians petitioning Dante's Inferno at E3, EA offering a "night of sin with 2 hot girls" during Comic-Con 09, and finally there was that little business of $200 being sent to game reviewers in skeleton covered boxes. Well Dante's Inferno is at it again this time with a website that would scare the life out of any gamer. Mass We Pray is the latest edition to the Dante's Inferno marketing campaign: A family shouldn’t have to wait until Sunday to worship the Lord. Read More...
