Is Digital Distribution the Future?
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 10th of November 2009 - 02:51 AM ]
It's fairly safe that we can all assume that the future of movies and game sales is digital distribution. How long the duration will be for it to take over is anybody's guess. It will be more determined by the willingness of people to download a game as opposed to having a physical copy than anything else. Delivery systems like GameTap, Direct2Drive and most notably Steam, have been digitally distributing PC games for years and have been met with success. It seems as though PC players are more willing to buy digital distribution than their console counterparts -- maybe because it's been available longer and they feel more comfortable with it or maybe it's because they don't care about having a physical copy since they can not trade it in anyhow. What Have You Achieved Before The End Of Days?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 7th of November 2009 - 01:37 PM ]
When dealing with the end of the world and pretty much the end of days, what would you expect your goals to be? Probably get laid one last time. Go on a drunken binge. Maybe even see what it is like to kill a person. Maybe even go looting through treasure chests that you may find around the world while riding a horse for 100 miles. Doesn't that sound about right for the general populace of the world? Well what about the horseman of War? Read More...

War Zones, Zombies, Hip Hop, And 'Film Actors Guild'
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of November 2009 - 10:13 PM ]
The below thoughts are those of me, David, and not those of AggroGamer.com or Pwned.com. Send all hate mail and comments to me, or post them below. Just do the favor of not posting Annon and thus the wuss way out. With Modern Warfare and Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles both gracing shelves in the next two weeks, one after the other, it would seem time for the final launch trailers to hit the webs to give us even more reason to want these games. Like there is anyone that doesn't already want Modern Warfare and there is no Nintendophile that couldn't use another great zombie rail shooter. Am I right? Read More...

Review: Torchlight
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 6th of November 2009 - 04:30 PM ]
There are times in any gamer’s life when you find yourself blearily looking for a clock, attempting to adjust your eyes to read the time. You find yourself trying to comprehend how the time reported is much later than the internal clock in your head. How much time have you lost? Minutes? Hours? If Runic Games is using that time as a measure of success of their recently released Action-RPG Torchlight, there must be a party in Washington every night! The story begins in the small mining village of Torchlight. Ember, a mineral of extraordinary power (and possible corruption) was found in a nearby mine. Read More...

More Modern Warfare 2 PC Woes
by Ben Brody [ Friday, 6th of November 2009 - 01:34 PM ]
The bad gets worse. PC gamers have often been on the short end of the stick on gaming for awhile now except for one thing: Multiplayer. Mods, dedicated servers, better clan support, and VOIP programs like Ventrilo and Teamspeak usually make the PC multiplayer experience better than their console counterparts. Modern Warfare 2, which is poised to be the best selling FPS of all time, is only full of disappointments to the PC crowd unfortunately.Dedicated servers have already been taken away from the PC version and now comes more. Review: Fairytale Fights
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 5th of November 2009 - 07:11 PM ]
Imagine that you are a character from your favorite fairytale. The main character, if you will. Now imagine that some one has gone through your story and removed the part where you were the important and significant. Everyone shunned and ignored you in your own story. What would you do? Go bat nuts crazy and slaughter all of the cute inhabitants to show that you really are the star again? It's what I would do. Well that is the very basic version of what is going on in Play Logic's Fairytale Fights. Read More...

Ubisoft isn't satisfied with having several high profile titles on the way, nor are they satisfied with simply releasing a game like Splinter Cell: Conviction - no, they key is releasing an edition with such an amount of assuredly irresistible goodness that you can't help buy commit heart and soul to the product. Then There Was Mayhem
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 4th of November 2009 - 09:55 PM ]
As I am sure by now you have heard of, seen, and/or played a bit of Darksiders. Either from your favorite news source or at your favorite gaming convention. But what is it really all about? How epic of a tale is going to go along with the game about a fallen horseman? I know I've been curious myself. Well curiosity is sated a bit more with THQ's latest trailer for the game. Nicknamed the Mayhem trailer. Read More...

Review: Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time
by Ben Brody [ Wednesday, 4th of November 2009 - 01:59 PM ]
Ratchet and Clank has enjoyed a really good run these past 7 years, and A Crack in Time is a great cap to the "future" series. In what may be the final game in the series, Ratchet must rescue Clank from Dr. Nefarious (the villain from Up Your Arsenal, the third game in the series). Before we get in to deep, let's get a quick glance back at the Future trilogy thus far. In Tools of Destruction, an evil tyrant named Tachyon set out to revenge against the Lombax's for destroying his race. This is the first hint we get that Ratchet isn't the last Lombax in the galaxy. Aion - A Casual MMO Player's Impressions
by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 3rd of November 2009 - 08:38 PM ]
Disclaimer: This is not an official review of Aion, but will be from the perspective of a casual MMO player, and serves more as an impressions of my first month with the game. As of writing this, I have reached level 16 with Asmodyian Assassin and around level 10 with each of my 3 other characters. Aion is the latest MMORPG from Korean developer NCSoft, and was quick to break pre-order records amongst MMO tiles with over 400,000 pre-ordered. Aion utilizes the Crytek engine and produces beautiful results. Aion takes place in the world of Atreia, and you choose one of two opposing races of humans. Read More...

Review: DJ Hero (aka Last Night a DJ Hero Saved My Life)
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 3rd of November 2009 - 02:34 AM ]
Reinventing the Vinyl WheelYour palms sweat heavily as you approach the stage. There's a twitch, a solitary twinge of excitement racing through your veins and ready to explode from the tips of your fingers onto the vinyl that awaits you. The lights flicker and flash and the crowd roars as you make your entrance. You deftly weave between songs and paradoxical rhythmic patterns, cross-fading between sultry sirens and heard edged break beats. You match the intensity of the crowd with every pull of the record, every scratch rivaled by their increased volume. Read More...

Nintendo DLC For The Week Of 11/2/09
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 2nd of November 2009 - 11:34 PM ]
When I looked at the list of downloadable content this week for Nintendo, I was shocked to see eight titles listed for the three "platforms" available. For so long, the Big 'N' was releasing one title a week on each platform: WiiWare, DSiWare and Virtual Console. Many people, including myself, asked why Nintendo was holding back, especially in light of the fact that first party titles haven't exactly been busting down retail doors in a short period of time. Unfortunately, when looking at what the public received, you begin to understand why the big push. Looking at the DSiWare selections this week, your attention is drawn immediately to the first party photo application, Sparkle Snapshots. Read More...

Interview With Vandal Hearts: Ryan Graff
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 2nd of November 2009 - 09:20 PM ]
It's been sometime since we heard anything from Konami about their Tactical Role-Playing Game Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment. It was rumored before that the game was going to be a remake of the PlayStation version of Vandal Hearts and was going to be released for the Nintendo DS. Well that is not the case as we were managed to get an interview from Ryan Graff, Vandal Hearts: Flame of Judgment Original Concept Writer, to answer some questions that we all have been wondering. Q: Why it has taken almost 10 years to get another Vandal Hearts game out. A: Needless to say, 10 years is a long time in the game business, and in that time, much of the original Vandal Hearts team has moved on. Read More...
