Directive 8020 Brings Us Face-To-Face With Death & RTX On
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 31st of October 2025 - 05:00 PM ]
Directive 8020 A new look at Directive 8020 is out there to give us all a better look at the visuals Directive 8020 might have when it launches out there Well, it is Halloween, which means we are getting all of the spooky game updates today, and here we go with another that will not be launching until 2026 with Directive 8020. A title that we should have been able to play by now, originally, but Supermassive Games needed more time to perfect it for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Not a terrible thing, and maybe it will give us all some fun extras in the mix to enjoy. Read More...

Directive 8020 Teases Us With Some New & Exclusive Gameplay Here
by Jana Lass [ Thursday, 16th of October 2025 - 07:00 PM ]
Directive 8020 A new little slice of Directive 8020 gameplay is here, and we can get a better feel for the non-dialog gameplay for Directive 8020 Even though we are not getting Directive 8020 for Halloween as originally planned, it does look as if we are getting something to take in for the game during the season and to keep us all going until 2026 when it is slated to hit the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Not that Supermassive Games wasn't already busy dropping out other titles for us during the season already, but that is a different topic. For now, we will have a look at the fun little tease that we have for Directive 8020, with some exclusive gameplay out there just in time to add some Sci-Fi horror into the season. Read More...

Head A Little Behind The Scenes After Gamescom For Directive 8020
by Jana Lass [ Friday, 5th of September 2025 - 07:00 PM ]
Directive 8020 Take a walk around the setting of Directive 8020 as it was all shown off during Gamescom, and see why we need to wait longer for Directive 8020 Even though Gamescom has come and gone for this year, we are still getting some new looks at things that went down during the event. Specifically, some look at things that we would only have had a chance to experience if we were on-site, with the latest for Directive 8020. We do need something to help take away the sting that Supermassive Games had to push the release out to 2026. Not only that, but also a solid look at some of the other bits that were behind the scenes for Directive 8020, and what they tried to dazzle the crowds with out there. Read More...

Directive 8020 Offers A Prologue As We Have To Wait Longer For The Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 22nd of August 2025 - 09:00 PM ]
Directive 8020 New gameplay for Directive 8020 is here from Gamescom, while we have a slight delay for Directive 8020 now I do hope that you did not have your heart set on getting to experience Directive 8020 this coming October, as it looks like there is now a bit of a delay for the game. One that is going to push it into 2026 for an unnamed release date now. That is part of the news that crawled out of Gamescom 2025 and was a little overshadowed by other things. Maybe a good call for Supermassive Games to do that, but worth noting for those who were looking for more horror on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Read More...

Directive 8020 Shakes Things Up Even Further With Some New Gameplay
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of June 2025 - 07:00 PM ]
Directive 8020 More gameplay for Directive 8020 is finally here, with a look at how some of the choices in Directive 8020 will come about There have been a few tastes of how the gameplay for Directive 8020 will go down and how we are going to have to make some of those hard choices in the mix of things already. There has been no shortage of descriptions of all of that out of Supermassive Games as they keep on evolving and perfecting their titles over time. Things are ever changing, just like the creatures in Directive 8020, so it will be a wild ride on October 2nd when the game lands on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Read More...

Directive 8020 Will Make You Want To Trust No One Out There In The Universe
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of June 2025 - 07:00 PM ]
Directive 8020 New looks at Directive 8020 offer up a few of the gameplay mechanics we will need to use to make it through the events of Directive 8020 If things were not already bad enough in the mix for Directive 8020, now we get to see just why we cannot trust anyone on the ship with us. Well, more on how we are going to try and mitigate that issue that Supermassive Games is placing in the mix out there for us. This is a Sci-Fi horror, and what would it be without having a shapeshifting alien or being that is hunting us all down? Just what we have suspected in Directive 8020, beyond all of our protagonists being robots. Read More...

That is, Supermassive Games is offering up one more look at the game and showing off the pilot that will be taking us all there. The same one that will be keeping us all safe on the flight and making sure we make it back safely. Well, as long as we all survive the horrors that will be stalking the ship in Directive 8020. Directive 8020 Is Giving Us Some More Of Technical Engineering Going Down
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 15th of May 2025 - 07:00 PM ]
Directive 8020 The next crew member of Directive 8020 is here and things are a bit more technical now in the Directive 8020 universe The crew keeps on stepping up out there in the world of Directive 8020 as we have our next member on display. This is all part of the series of videos that Supermassive Games is pumping out there for us all to give us a feel for all of the characters we are going to be guiding in the game when it launches in October. Still a long way from now, but it is keeping Directive 8020 in the light a bit longer so we can make sure we reserve some space for it on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Especially with how technical everything is getting here with the inclusion of the latest member of the team. Read More...

The Doctor Is In To Care For Us All In The Mix Of Directive 8020
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of May 2025 - 05:00 PM ]
Directive 8020 The next member of the crew is here for Directive 8020 and this time it is the doctor of the ship who will keep us alive in Directive 8020 Here we go with more of the crew on display for Directive 8020, and this time we are getting the ship's doctor in the mix. Every good ship needs to have one of those, and Supermassive Games is making sure that this title leans into that trope when it comes to the Sci-Fi horror. That might also mean that this could be the character that we can lose right from the start of Directive 8020 to make sure it is easier for each of the next members to die too. We will not know for sure until October 2nd when the game hits the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, but for now, we can have a look at Dr. Read More...

Nolan Stafford Will Not Let The Human Race End In Directive 8020
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 30th of April 2025 - 05:00 PM ]
Directive 8020 Meet the next crew member for Directive 8020 and learn a bit more of the stakes at hand in the mix of Directive 8020 The commander is on deck for Directive 8020, as we meet the next member of the crew that we will be taking the dark journey with out there. All part of the on-going series of videos that Supermassive Games is pumping out there so we can understand the characters in the game and hope for them not to be the one that meets a grizzly end out there. If we like the characters, it makes it much harder of a hit when or if they do fall prey to some horror out there. Which is something that Directive 8020 is going to want to capitalize on when it hits the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 2nd this year. Read More...

Laura Eisele Will Not Allow For The Crew To Have Human Error In Directive 8020
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 23rd of April 2025 - 05:00 PM ]
Directive 8020 It is time to start meeting the crew for Directive 8020 as we get a few more looks into the horrors Directive 8020 will throw at us It feels like we have so much time from now until we will get to see what is going on in Directive 8020, with October 2nd still so far away, but that does not mean we cannot all enjoy more for the game. Like, in this instance, getting to know the characters we are going to help guide through the horrors that Supermassive Games will be placing us all in. Directive 8020 is a character-driven game, so all of this makes sense to me. Read More...

Death Will Take Many Forms In The Story For Directive 8020
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 13th of February 2025 - 08:00 PM ]
Directive 8020 The story for Directive 8020 has been revealed along with when we can expect to play Directive 8020 with a release date It feels like it has been forever since we had any updates for Directive 8020 out there, and now here we are with some massive ones. Almost as if Supermassive Games was in the background changing and tweaking things to add in things they have learned along the way. Hence why it looks as if we have lost the Dark Pictures part to the title so that Directive 8020 can be something to stand on its own. Not that we are losing some of that, but worth noting as we dive into the story that we have for the game as we wait for it to release on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 2nd. Read More...

Get Ready To Trust No One In The Dark Pictures Anthology: Directive 8020
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 20th of August 2024 - 09:00 PM ]
Directive 8020 The official look at Directive 8020 is finally here with Directive 8020 taking the Dark Pictures Anthology more Sci-Fi After a solid tease of things a long while ago, we finally have something more to look at for Directive 8020. This would be the next story in The Dark Pictures Anthology that Supermassive Games has been working on in the past. We had a tease that showed that the game would be leaving the more supernatural element of horror in this next wave and going a bit more Sci-Fi. Something that strikes home well after the release of Alien Romulus and the many other titles going that way. Read More...

The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR Tacks Us Down The Rails With New Gameplay
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 17th of February 2023 - 10:00 PM ]
The Dark Pictures New gameplay for The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR is here to show how more of The Dark Pictures is mixed in for the VR title The PSVR2 is almost here and we are going to have so many titles out there for it, with The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR being another of them. A title we have seen a little be for back when Supermassive Games was still working on the standard narrative version of the IP. That is something that will carry over into this version of The Dark Pictures while still being an on-rails shooter. That is the easier way to keep some of the VR titles moving forward while not forcing the users to have their own warehouse space to run around in. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 11/14/22 — 11/18/22
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 19th of November 2022 - 12:00 AM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week We had another short week of video games on our end, and that is on us and not that there was not much to talk about this week. It happens and we are going to see it happen next week with the American holiday kicking in and slowing things down. That is why we should be thankful that we had what we did for The Callisto Protocol, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, and Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII - Reunion as we did this week. All video games that will be launching out there shortly after the following week at that. Read More...
