Hazardous to Your Health
by Kevin [ Monday, 5th of October 2009 - 09:53 PM ]
So the General has summoned his old adversaries and Matt has to spring back into action. Now, here's what I'm thinking, because the game has been touted as being so closely in resemblance to Shadow Complex, that the parodies seen in this will deal with the side scrolling shooters that we hold so dear. That is to say, there needs to be a Contra level, where one death should actually reset your system and then your console of choice should burst into unholy flame. I'm pretty sure that was everyone's Contra's experience, right? Read More...

Lord of the Rings Online Expansion Gets Date, Price
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 1st of October 2009 - 02:01 PM ]
Tuesday Turbine announced the release date and pricing for the second expansion for Lord of the Rings Online: Siege of Mirkwood. If you want to know more about the expansion itself, check out the expansion's announcement here. In that article I speculated about the digital download's price as it does not feel like a true expansion but rather the second half of the Mines of Moria expansion. As such, I had said that Siege of Mirkwood would be priced at $20 and for the most part, I was right. Sort of. Read More...

Goozex Enhances Service With Movie Trading
by Michael Camacho [ Monday, 24th of August 2009 - 12:39 PM ]
Videogame trading website, Goozex.com, launched their brand new movie trading service last Monday, August 17th. The decision to add this service onto the Goozex experience has pleased many of the sites members, and has seen quick success in only a week's time. Members can easily trade DVDs, Blu-Ray, UMDs and even the deceased HD-DVDs, proving that the Goozex Team truly understands its audience. Goozex movie trading uses the same formula as the videogame trading. All movies have a set point price and rise and fall due to supply and demand, and as always it only costs 1 trade credit to receive a movie. Read More...

Seeing Red Daily
by Kevin [ Wednesday, 19th of August 2009 - 04:05 PM ]
Another contender, albeit an interesting one, in the area of game rental and availability - Redbox, more known for its kiosks which seem to be everywhere from Royal Farms to McDonald's, will now be offering games for the DS, Wii, Playstations 2&3, and Xbox 360 for a sum of $2 nightly. For most gamers, GameFly seems to be the go to source for gaming rentals along with the coveted Goozex for trading and trying out titles. This reminds me of several years ago when the war was between Blockbuster and Hollywood Video. Well, considering I never played a game from Hollywood Video that wasn't scratched, maybe it wasn't much of a war after all. Read More...

NCAA Football 10 Review
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 14th of July 2009 - 02:47 PM ]
Defenses be damned, offense is the name of the game in EA Sports' NCAA Football 10, their newest iteration of the NCAA football series. With all new game modes and a new presentation, it is clearly the sharpest looking of all, but is it the best? NCAA Football 10 continues the time-honored tradition of only adding just enough to get people to buy the new edition for the new year. Incorrect uniforms, dull (and often inaccurate) stadiums, boring commentary and lackluster audio plague the game, however it has always been that way. The first game I played, a rivalry game between Wisconsin and Minnesota, wasn't a very good first impression. Read More...

Gaming For Less
by Michael Camacho [ Sunday, 12th of July 2009 - 06:19 PM ]
As the stock market continues its disappointment, unemployment rises, and necessities rise in cost, it is becoming even more difficult for gamers to justify that $60 price tag on most games these days. Luckily for all of us gamers, there are various options to help us stretch our wallet. Whether you are looking to buy new, used or even trade games, I am here to broaden your horizon on various ways to nab a great deal on the game you want. Buying new can be costly, but only if you must have a game the day it comes out. Even then it is not impossible to find some good deals on brand new games. Read More...

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - Ultimate Character Reveal (Deadpool)
by Jesse [ Tuesday, 7th of July 2009 - 03:19 PM ]
There’s a reason they call Deadpool the “Merc with a Mouth”, the guy literally never shuts up, even when his head has been removed from the rest of his body. He is by far the most insane character in comics which makes it a little hard to believe any one of his possible backstories. Generally it is known that he was born to a father who served in the United States Army eventually rising to the rank of general. His mother had died due to a terminal illness when Deadpool, real name Wade Wilson, was a young boy. Wade joined the army when he was older enlisting with the Special Forces. Read More...

BackBreaker
by Kevin [ Monday, 15th of June 2009 - 03:42 AM ]
There are the Madden purists out there, there always will be. I cannot consider myself one of them because for all of the "innovations" EA throw into the Madden games - it will always be the same experience for me. Since EA secured the NFL license, there's been false start after false start for competitors to the gridiron throne. I give all the credit in the world to Blitz: The League and the 2k series for creating some compelling gameplay, but because of either: dated gameplay and graphics, or leaning too much on novelty gameplay, they were never able to achieve the same numbers of units sold. Here's hoping BackBreaker becomes a serious contender. Read More...

Ratchet and Clank Return to PS3
by Jesse [ Thursday, 26th of March 2009 - 10:58 PM ]
“The Quest Continues in Fall 2009…” This was the phrase that teased a coming sequel following the end of Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty. Today we know exactly what those words mean. Okay so maybe we don’t know exactly, but at least there’s a title. Insomniac Games unveiled the logo for their upcoming R&C title Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time. Though there aren’t any details at this time, I’d say it’s safe to assume we’ll see A Crack in Time tie in with the previous two R&C games. One interesting point though is that the title logo looks to be cut from a larger image. Read More...
