Review: Double Dragon: Neon
by Fred Buell [ Wednesday, 3rd of October 2012 - 04:58 PM ]
Double Dragon: Neon is as the developers say; "A love letter to the 80s" and it is that and so much more. Double Dragon: Neon brings us the return of the Lee brothers; Billy and Jimmy and their quest to save Marian, the staple of 80s games, "the kidnapped maiden". This time she has been kidnapped by a new villain, Skullmageddon. Skullmageddon is a giant skeleton armored in... Well a suit made from bones. Read More...

Double Dragon: Neon Soundtrack Whoopin' Ass For Free
by Fred Buell [ Wednesday, 19th of September 2012 - 05:17 PM ]
A few days ago Double Dragon: Neon came out causing 8- and 16-bit fan boys and nostalgia addicts alike cream their pants in joy. However a day before that happened, Majesco Entertainment unleashed this 80s beat'em up fest's soundtrack to the masses. This is every one of the 45 tracks from the game. Ranging from midi masterpieces to 80s inspired new wave and even into old skool hip-hop. The soundtrack can be picked up from the Official Double Dragon: Neon website for the low cost of FREE. If you haven't had a chance to play Double Dragon: Neon yet, get the demo, get this soundtrack, and get in on what you are missing. Read More...

Review: Twisted Metal
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 22nd of February 2012 - 06:01 PM ]
So it has been quite some time since most of the fans of Twisted Metal have received a sequel, reboot or whatever to the franchise. That last title coming out almost four years ago on the PS2 so it was about time to bring one Sony's biggest, and in my opinion one of the best, to the next gen hardware. This is just what they did. So how did this franchise hold up and is it worth picking up? Read More...

We Are Already Getting Schooled In Twisted Metal
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 13th of February 2012 - 06:38 PM ]
For those of you lucky enough to be able to get into the Twisted Metal demo and go into multiplayer you've probably seen a few people in there who are just trouncing everyone. Do you wonder how they are doing it besides making the assumption that they are testers? Or do you just want to know the ins and outs of the game before it launches on Tuesday? Well let's go to the Twisted Metal University and learn these tricks of the trade. Below you will see the first two, of what I am assuming to be a few more, videos that showcase some of the controls and tactics of the vehicles in the game. Read More...

Shoot Live Ammo At A Twisted Metal Vehicle. I'm In!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 9th of February 2012 - 10:05 PM ]
So it's funny to think about, but what happened to the Sweet Tooth truck that was used to announce and further promote Twisted Metal on the PS3? Or more or less what will happen once the PR Tour is over. Will it sit in a warehouse somewhere next to the Ark of the Covenant and Crystal Skulls? Well here is the answer to that. It looks like what will happen is that we will get to shoot it to all hells with live ammo. Yes I said we as in us the fans and gamers. Read More...

This episode of the Aggrocast tries out a new feature/format called Convince Me. Brian is joined by David and Matt who have the unfortunate task to attempt to convince Brian that he wants to play The Darkness II and Twisted Metal. The discussions heat up on these soon-to-be-released games. Will I be convinced? Listen and find out. Not everything is serious business. Read More...

Eat Sleep Play - the company behind the latest Twisted Metal title - has recently reported laying off eight of its employees. David Jaffe (co-owner of ESP, and creator of God of War/Twisted Metal franchises) has also announced that he will be leaving Eat Sleep Play and opening a new studio in the San Diego area. It's kind of a big deal considering the latest installment of Twisted Metal launches next week. Eat Sleep Play will now transition into the Mobile/iOS Gaming market. Read More...

by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 5th of January 2012 - 07:47 PM ]
Today, the guys over at Team Meat have proudly announced - via their Twitter page - that Super Meat Boy for the XBox Live Arcade has sold over a million copies. "Fun Fact: Super Meat Boy past the million sales mark last month! PLATINUM BABY!" - Team Meat Twitter. I'm so proud of Team Meat with this amazing feat of strength - a whopping one million sales. This is extremely impressive for an indie arcade game. I personally love Super Meat Boy. Read More...

New Twisted Metal Trailers
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 20th of December 2011 - 05:35 PM ]
A couple new trailers for Eat Sleep Play's Twisted Metal have been released, one featuring my favorite character, Mr. Grimm and the other featuring Dollface. The trailers showcase a little bit of each characters back story, a hefty dose of heavy metal and some sweet, sweet game play. I grew up playing the original Twisted Metal games, so seeing one of my favorite childhood franchises come back guns blazing in a hail of fire and bullets makes me crack a smile across my face, ear to ear. The first trailer is Mr. Grimm, who is a different person from the last installment (Twisted Metal: Black) but is just as cool, showing us some of his signature weapons like the "Flame Saw" which is an exploding chainsaw that has been grinding on the concrete for a few hundred feet. By Mennen! A New Episode Of Nuka Break Slipped Out
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 17th of October 2011 - 09:48 PM ]
I've been insanely busy over the last few days, but it looks like the next chapter on Fallout: Nuka Break just hit like the latest episode of The Walking Dead. Only that unlike TWD, F:NB doesn't fully pick up where we last left off. Be it because of some shady stuff the producers and writers don't want us knowing yet or be that I missed something. In either instance, the whole story picks back up well after the group has left town. Also while Scarlet's old slaver is planning a reclamation plan elsewhere in the world. Read More...

You've Got To Be Kidding Me. New Mortal Kombat Film In The Works
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 3rd of October 2011 - 03:48 PM ]
Please gods don't let there be another video game film craze coming again. Earlier this week we found out Dead Island has been optioned for a featured film. Now, Mortal Kombat is getting the same treatment. Yes, another Mortal Kombat film is in the works. Although it has potential to be really good but only if things work out as alluded to. Apparently things went way better for the Web Series that was directed by Kevin Tancharoen than Warner Bros. expected. Read More...

Did Twig Just Get His Nuka Break?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 30th of September 2011 - 08:46 PM ]
It's been two weeks again so it is time for the new episode of Fallout: Nuka Break. It is also time to see how the cliff hanger from last episode is going to work itself out. You know the one where the whole crew was ambushed in the middle of town. Crazy guy in a huge top hat? You know and if not go watch the last episode. Without giving too much away, it does look like the whole premise of the series has come to a close. Or at least the basic one. Read More...

Nuka Break: Behind The Scenes
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 15th of September 2011 - 04:49 PM ]
Well, seeing as Hades loves himself some Fallout: Nuka Break and so do all of you, I felt it would be good to show you guys some "behind the scenes." I've been following the creators of Fallout: Nuka Break long before they made the fan film. The guy who plays Twig (Zack Finfrock) is the creator and the main guy behind Wayside Creations (the company that made the web series). Zack first started off on a now cancelled (sadly) show called "Backyard FX" where he was made the host. Zack and Wayside Creations have made dozens of helpful props and tutorials for DIY Film making. Fallout: Nuka Break Replaces Slave Leia With Slave Scarlett
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 14th of September 2011 - 08:43 PM ]
So two weeks ago Fallout: Nuka Break made its debut on the internet with its first episode. In what seems to be a bi-weekly set up now (according to the annotations in the new episode), I bring you Episode 2. Yea, that whole sentence was redundant but you still read it. In this episode, the trio is continuing on to find the perfect Nuka Cola Break and stumble upon the reason for the attack in the first episode. If you've read the show notes and character bios you would know that Scarlett (our heroine) is an escaped slave. Looks like she escaped with the help of Twigg and Ben and her owner wants her back. Knuckle Bumps To The Gamers Behind Fallout: Nuka Break
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 30th of August 2011 - 05:28 PM ]
So there was that abomination that occurred with Mortal Kombat's web series. I've all but given up on trying to care about any web series that are based on popular video game franchises. That is until I caught Wayside Creations' rendition of Fallout, aptly titled Fallout: Nuka Break. Before you ask, this was created by fans of Fallout for fans of Fallout. The creator's being a small independent production company. The same company that released the virally popular short film with the same title. Read More...
