Deadpool: The Game Is Looking Funnier And Even More Awesome
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 11th of March 2013 - 08:51 PM ]
Talk about a title that I can't wait to play, mainly for the story and humor. Deadpool looks more and more up my alley with each new trailer for the game. They are just everything that makes the 'Merc with a Mouth' who he is. The following new trailer does not disappoint as well. Well outside of showing some of the game's actually mechanics and game play. I'd be lying if I wasn't interested in how Deadpool will actually handle in game. Also, it would be nice to know what else we get to do in the game outside of crazy combat and gun slinging. Read More...

Assassin's Creed IV Accidentally Then Officially Announced
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 4th of March 2013 - 07:45 PM ]
It has been made official; Assassin's Creed IV is coming just about a year after AC3 has landed. It was originally rumored with the below trailer teasing it last week, but since the cat was let out of the bag it looks like Ubisoft isn't keeping it hidden any more. The video is now to be considered the official announcement of AC4 along with the release date of November 1st 2013. That adds another title to the PS4's launch lineup it would seem. Now for the interesting part, it looks like Ubisoft is breaking from the theme of traveling forward in history with each new AC title as we will be playing during the time of Blackbeard. Read More...

Review: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
by Devin Ballard [ Friday, 1st of March 2013 - 10:30 PM ]
So before I get on the review, let me just say that I’m not big on fighting games. I’m more of an RPG, MMO, or FPS kind of guy. Seldom has a fighting game captured my attention and made me want to continue playing through both defeat and success, so when I say that I’m genuinely interested in PlayStation All-Stars just know that I don’t say that lightly. This is a cross-over fighting game made by SuperBot Entertainment and SCE Santa Monica Studio exclusively for the PS3. Big surprise right? Read More...

Review: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 23rd of February 2013 - 12:06 AM ]
When one hears anything Metal Gear you usually think "Tactical Espionage" style of game. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance deviates from that to an extreme, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. While it all takes place in the same game universe, MGR:R tries a bit of difference with an action packed style of game play. How does it work out? Well read on. Read More...

by Greg Tatterfield [ Friday, 22nd of February 2013 - 08:29 PM ]
In a few short weeks baseball fans will be able to get their hands on Sony’s all star baseball sim MLB 13 The Show. If you have been following the franchise you would know that The Show has been the best selling and most polished sports game for years now. Edging out their competitor 2K Sports and proving that The Show is far superior. This year, The Show is coming back with quite a few improvements and additions. One of Sony's goals this year is to make The Show more accessible to casual and new players. Read More...

Review: Serious Sam Double D XXL
by Matt Waitt [ Friday, 22nd of February 2013 - 06:15 PM ]
Serious Sam Double D XXL is one hell of a mouthful, especially for a title of a game. But don't let the ridiculously long title discourage you from enjoying this great game. Featuring a Gunstacking ability, some awesome platforming, 2D side-scrolling action, and the comedy/humor we all know and love from the Serious Sam franchise. So let's talk about what I enjoyed about Serious Sam Double D XXL. God damn it I need to find a shorter name for that game SSDDXXL? Read More...

Our Favorite Boss Fights Ever - Part 1
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 19th of February 2013 - 08:10 PM ]
This is a collective list from the staff and readers on who, or what, their favorite boss battle in a video game is and why. It doesn't matter what genre or what boss, all that matters is if it's your favorite or not. It can be the boss that made you want to break your controller but you found yourself screaming "hallelujah" when you beat them. The boss that made your jaw drop when they hit "Phase II" or transformed into their true form. Hell, it can be the boss that just holds a special place in your heart. Read More...

Review: Dead Space 3
by Irene Collazo [ Monday, 11th of February 2013 - 05:38 PM ]
Isaac Clarke is back for round three of limb dismembering, skull stomping, and vigorous shimmy shaking action against the Necromorphs we all love to hate. Oh, but he was dragged into it for the sake of mankind. Once again, Unitologists decide to cause an outbreak of Necromorphs because they’re simply crazy and suicidal. That’s just my opinion. Dead Space 3 is somewhat different from the first two games which threw me off for the first hour of game play. Read More...

Let's Look At The Game Play Of The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 7th of February 2013 - 11:12 PM ]
Now that we've all hopefully had time to wrap the story heavy version of the franchise, it's time we looked at the action FPS version with The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. The Activision/Terminal Reality game coming out here in a month's time. Not much has been said or shown until now, but it is well known to be a FPS and feature the story of two of the AMC TV Show only characters. I'm talking the Dixon brothers in case you haven't been up on the details since its initial announcement. If you look below we have what is called the "Game Play" trailer for the game. Read More...

Review: DmC: Devil May Cry
by Matt Waitt [ Saturday, 2nd of February 2013 - 05:06 PM ]
The reboot of Devil May Cry is not only the best in the series, but breathes new life into the franchise. I personally cannot wait for a DMC 2. I know a lot of you guys cried foul when you saw the new design for Dante, and it's understandable, but at the same time you guys should all calm your damn tits. I thought the old Dante looked too much like a pretty-boy anime character and I really couldn't relate to him all too much. When I saw the new one he reminded me a lot of an 80‘s style Punk rocker, which I like a lot. Read More...

Grand Theft Auto V Pushed Out Of Spring
by Greg Tatterfield [ Friday, 1st of February 2013 - 06:56 PM ]
Rockstar has announced the release date for their crime epic Grand Theft Auto V. Unfortunately it's releasing later than originally expected. Rockstar has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto V will be released on September 17th for Xbox 360 and PS3. Originally Rockstar had it slated for sometime in spring. This may come as a disappointment to those looking forward to the game but I rather have them take their time instead of releasing a broken game with a boatload of patches. Here is an official statement form Rock star regarding the delay. Read More...

The DLC For This Article Will Be Released Soon.
by Kenton Winkfield [ Tuesday, 22nd of January 2013 - 07:07 PM ]
I love it when I turn on a game I've already played and beaten and find that there is brand new stuff to do thanks to new content being added. But, in a world dominated by the internet is it really such a good thing now? I feel that games now-a-days are sometimes left incomplete in order to reach deadlines, and the finishing touches are just brought out at a later date in the form of patches or add-ons. In the past; unless you were on a PC; an incomplete game was rare on consoles before they could access the internet. And unless the game was incredibly good, people wouldn't go out to buy the next installments. Read More...

Review: Cognition: Episode 1: The Hangman
by Kenton Winkfield [ Thursday, 27th of December 2012 - 06:33 PM ]
I am a lover of murder mystery games, but rarely do I get one that keeps me begging for more. Enter Cognition, an episodic Murder mystery game from indie developers, Phoenix Online Studios. Cognition places you in the shoes of Erica Reed, and FBI Agent in Boston, MA that has the ability to see the ability to see the past of any object she touches. She must use this ability, and several other developing abilities to solve cases and locate murders. Cognition Episode 1: The Hangman starts with Agent Reed and Agent John McCoy racing to a cemetery where Ericka Reed’s brother was taken after being kidnapped by The Cain Killer, a serial killer who kills sets of siblings, a brother and a sister. Review: Black Knight Sword
by Matt Waitt [ Friday, 21st of December 2012 - 07:35 PM ]
Where do I start with Black Knight Sword? The Monty Python inspired art style? The odd and unique story? Or how about the challenging difficulty that I thought had long since been forgotten? Yeah, let's start with how hard Black Knight Sword is. Black Knight Sword has three difficulties: Easy, Normal and Hard but it feels more like "Normal, Hard, and Good Luck." It is not the mechanics, nor the controls that makes Black Knight Sword so difficult, no, not at all. It is the strategically placed enemies, the learning curve they demand from you, and the boss fights that will eat you up and spit you out. Read More...

Review: Gateways
by Kenton Winkfield [ Wednesday, 19th of December 2012 - 06:03 PM ]
A game to bring back the old-style platformers from yester-decade, Gateways is a 2D portal platformer from Indie Developers Smudged Cat Games, makers of The Adventures of Shuggy. Gateways has you take control of Ed, a scientist who has mysteriously woken up in his lab to find that his creations have escaped their containment and are running amuck. As he runs to escape his lab, he must find and use several of his new creations in order to traverse past several of his own security systems. He must use all his various portal devices to teleport, resize, rotate, and even go back in time in order to reach his control center, and ultimately escape his own lab. Read More...
