Spider-Man is easily one of the most iconic superheroes ever created. Since being bitten by a radioactive spider, Peter Parker’s life has become a roller coaster ride of mammoth proportions. Living with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben, Peter grew up trying to live by Ben’s example of great power and great responsibility. Peter was still a high school student when he first dawned a costume and has gone on to battle against such deadly enemies as Venom, Doctor Octopus, Kraven, and on and on. Manhunt 2 PC Rated AO Who wants to play Manhunt 2 the way it was originally designed to be played? You know the version that originally netted the game and AO (Adults Only) rating way back in October of 2007. The version that was deemed so violent, raunchy, and filthy that it was banned in a few countries and had to undergo massive censorships to be made into a M (Mature) rated game. I know I do. Pyro Studios Making A New Commandos Game!

Well it's about time...Pyro Studios, creators of the famed Commandos series, is set to release a new Commandos game more in line with the first title in this WWII strategy franchise. How many of you recall the critically low scoring FPS shooter that was Commandos: Strike Force? Yeah, even Pyro Studios was less than enthusiastic about the title. Well, players will be happy to know that this time around they are going to be bringing back all the tactical gameplay that players knew and loved. Batman: Arkham Asylum - Release Trailer Just in time for the official release date, in North America, come what will be the coolest looking trailer/advertisement for Batman Arkham Asylum to date. Even better than the sing skeleton video they have showing off the Scarecrow DLC you get for pre-ordering at GameStop. Albeit, not as funny, but it is one of the best views of the game that the general public will get a look at before they actually get to pick up the game. Even more so earlier for those across the big blue ocean to the East, they have to wait a few more days to have the Caped Crusader on their systems. Read More...

Last week I discussed my feelings about downloadable content which is one of two things that have drastically risen in the last few years to become a common site in the video games industry. Today I want to take a look at the second which are Special Edition releases. Before I actually get to the different pieces that are actually packaged within, I’d like to share what I think should be the definition of various special editions because I’ve seen several different variations in my time. I guess when you’re a hot shot like Johnny Storm, pyrokinesis seems a little on the nose. But when you’re dealing with cosmic radiation, sometimes you just have to play with the cards you’re dealt with. At the age of 16, Johnny went along with his sister Susan as a member of the crew for Reed Richards’ experimental interstellar ship. Being a working mother can be difficult, not that I speak from experience, but when your “occupation” is that of an adventurer and costumed superhero, I guess it’s easy for things to get a little complicated. Like the rest of the Fantastic Four, Sue Richards (then Sue Storm) was a member of Reed Richards’ crew who piloted his experimental spaceship designed for interstellar travel. Bombarded by cosmic radiation, the four were altered genetically and granted superhuman abilities. Sue initially obtained the power of invisibility, but even with such a power she was often relegated to the “damsel in distress” role. Read More...

Release Tuesday 6-30-09

So today is Release Tuesday and here's a rundown of what's coming out: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince It's odd that a movie-based game comes out this early before the actual movie (the movie comes out July 15th in the US/UK and the July 29th in IMAX, it should also be noted the movie has been in the can since May of 2008) The game which semi-follows the movie which semi-follows the book will be released for (here we go) the PS2, PS3, 360, Wii, PC/Mac, DS, and PSP. It's rated E10+. Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood The prequel to 2006's Western FPS Call of Juarez comes out this Release Tuesday and tells the story of the infamous McCall brothers. Read More...

Batman Arkham Asylum XBOX 360 Achievements Listed

The full list of all 50 achievements (including 15 secret ones) has been posted over at http://www.xbox360achievements.org/print.php?gameID=1129. The game, due out later this summer, is also coming out for the PS3, the trophies can be assumed to be the exact same with the exception of the added platinum trophy that you get after acquiring all other trophies. E3 Impression: Gametrak Freedom and Squeeballs Party

Performance Designed Product (a.k.a PDP) first announced the wand like controller, called the Gametrak Freedom, sometime last September for the Xbox 360 and everyone was waiting to see how this motion controller would be different from all the other motion controllers. After seeing it in action at E3, it certainly is. Not only did they show me the Gametrak Freedom controller, but they are also bundling the controller with a game called Squeeball.
