Let's Pep Up On This Somber Day With A New Call of Duty: Ghosts Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of September 2013 - 07:10 PM ]
If you are an United States citizen then today has a different and most likely somber meaning than "just another day." It could also be a day where everyone and their sidekick try to use it to gain something in the guise of being topical or remorseful. It happens. It is human nature it would seem. In any instance we should all pay reverence to those who keep people like me free to post mindless gaming news on the internet. What better way to do that then to watch a new trailer for Call Of Duty: Ghosts so we can think we know what those brave people do? Attention grabbing aside now. Read More...

New South Park: The Stick Of Truth Screenshots To Prove It's Not Dead
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 23rd of August 2013 - 03:43 PM ]
It was joked about back during SDCC, but do people really think that South Park: The Stick Of Truth is going to be dead in the water? I actually hear people still murmurs this, I'm not kidding, even though we have been shown concrete proof that it is still well in development and scheduled for release. I understand that missing the original launch date and losing the original publisher has a bit to do with this, but seriously?!? How could you be so dense? Read More...

Here's What We Will Be Playing Day One For The PS4
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 21st of August 2013 - 06:55 PM ]
Just as Microsoft did yesterday, it looks like we have a pretty well rounded list of titles coming Day One-ish for the PS4 when it finally hits homes on November 15th. At first glance it looks like it is a bit longer, 10 more titles to be exact, but there are a few titles there that we've already had our hands on for a while now. Granted, it would be nice to have them all be original titles, but that is just the dream. By no means does this mean that I am not excited for the launch of the new console, but the numbers do seem a bit padded in regards to what will be available from launch. Read More...

Dead Rising 3's New Trailer Shows The Real Tone Of The Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 20th of August 2013 - 11:16 PM ]
Just in case you were still worried about the overall tone of Dead Rising 3 still being "too serious" and you've missed all the Twitter chatter about the game still having its light hearted side, then do I have a trailer for you. The new Gamescom trailer for DR3 is out and from what I saw at SDCC for the game, this is more the tone that Capcom is going for. I'll let you take a watch in peace for now. Yes it was all CG, but from the gameplay I've been shown, the levity of it all is captured perfectly here and, as seen, still carries over from its predecessors. Read More...

Call of Duty: Ghosts - Multiplayer Livestream
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 14th of August 2013 - 05:00 PM ]
In case you haven't heard yet there is going to be a multiplayer mode in the upcoming Call Of Duty: Ghosts. I know right? I was shocked to find out about it. I just hope that it isn't some kind of tacked on last minute thing. I hate when that…oh wait… This just in, the multiplayer addition is nothing new to the franchise nor "tacked on." Well don't I have egg on my face…? Levity aside now. Read More...

So Dead Island: Epidemic Was Announced. Here's What We Know
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of August 2013 - 06:16 PM ]
So with Techland working on Dying Light it kind of surprises me to hear about Dead Island: Epidemic. Just how do they have the time? Oh wait a second…they aren't working on this. Also this is a ZOMBA title for the PC. That makes a bit more sense now even though it does lower my interest a little bit. While we have been promised more as we roll into Gamescom, here are all the details release outside of the game's genre. Obviously it is set in the world of Dead Island and Riptide. Read More...

SDCC 2013: South Park: The Stick Of Truth
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of July 2013 - 11:08 PM ]
Didn't make it to San Diego Comic Con or the South Park: The Stick Of Truth panel? Well we got you covered. Or at least an amazing individual on the internet has you covered in the video aspect and I have you covered in the details as I was there taking notes for you. It should be no surprise that there isn't much in the way of new information since E3, but a few choice questions from fans and during the panel revealed a few tidbits. One of the best things I have heard in a while has to be that there are no plans to force DLC down our throats even though there were some major cuts from the 850+ page script of the game. Both Trey and Matt expressed a hatred for the term and that it was suggested when they had to start culling down the content. Read More...

The Massive Open World Of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 25th of July 2013 - 08:40 PM ]
All of the details leading up to now surrounding Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag have been pretty spectacular. Some of it has just been written details or descriptions from all of us bloggers out there. Luckily that is no longer going to be the case as we have a full view of the open world and special features in ACIV. Just in case you want to still go into the game blind, I'll give you a bit of the run down in text form. The big thing is the "openness" of the game's world. Read More...

Splinter Cell Blacklist Goes Back To Its Roots
by Greg Tatterfield [ Friday, 12th of July 2013 - 04:59 PM ]
Many old school fans of Ubisoft's Splinter Cell series were disappointed with Conviction's heavier focus on action. Ubisoft realized this and added a new difficulty mode to Blacklist called Perfectionist Mode. Intended for Splinter Cell purists this mode removes your mark/execute ability and takes away your ability to see through walls with Sam's sonar goggles. This mode increases enemy difficulty in both stealth and combat as well as does not allow players to restock ammo at supply caches. This mode is really unique because it brings the series back to the original three games in the franchise where the only thing that you have to rely on is your night vision goggles and the shadows. Here We Go With The Destiny Game Play Walkthrough... Again
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 3rd of July 2013 - 06:32 PM ]
You most likely saw the Destiny game play footage during the PlayStation event at E3. You also most likely saw my Destiny recording from the Activision booth. Just in case you missed it all of those times, Bungie and Activision have been gracious enough to give us yet another look at the game play of Destiny. On the plus side, it doesn't have my horrid video angle and "shaky cam" to watch from. Nor does it have the game stalling out or lackluster player call outs to each other. Read More...

E3 2013 Impression: Destiny
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 20th of June 2013 - 09:13 PM ]
If I have to say one thing to start it off, Bungie and Activision kept the ball rolling with Destiny and not hiding anything special behind the closed doors of E3. While yes there was a demo that people stood in line for up to two hours to get a new look at Destiny, for the most part it was exactly what was shown during the Sony press conference at the start of the show. Even down to the people who were showing off the game. If you don't believe me, you can go ahead and watch the whole demo that was shown in Activision's booth during the week. Read More...

More Information About Kingdom Hearts III Has Been Revealed
by Kenton Winkfield [ Wednesday, 19th of June 2013 - 10:08 PM ]
Recently a Japanese video game news magazine called Famitsu had a conversation with Tetsuya Nomura, the director of the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III, in an attempt to get some more information about the game. Thankfully we were able to get a translation of the information. Nomura has confirmed that the game will pick up where Dream Drop Distance left off and will be the final game in the "Dark Seeker" saga that was started in the first Kingdom Hearts game. The team is currently deciding which worlds will be used in the game. I personally hope we get a Star Wars world. Read More...

E3 2013 Impressions: Call Of Duty: Ghosts
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of June 2013 - 07:28 PM ]
Keeping to their word, Activision and Infinity Ward showed the world most of what they had for E3 during their Call Of Duty: Ghosts All Access event the Sunday before the show began proper. Almost to the point where it was almost pointless for anyone who is an online blogger/journalist to even cover on the show floor. Mind you, I did say almost. Besides having maybe a minute or so more of the game play shown during the event there were only a few things shown that highlighted the new engine that Call Of Duty: Ghosts will be running on. E3 2013 Impression: South Park: The Stick Of Truth
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 17th of June 2013 - 11:35 PM ]
With the fall of the mighty THQ and the purchasing of South Park: The Stick Of Truth by Ubisoft, all of us have been questioning what may or may not change in the final product. Especially since Ubisoft has it's hearts with the French and the Canadians and the minds behind South Park love to tear them apart. With questions like that and a huge interest in the game, I took a seat and watched what Obsidian had to show us at E3 after the great publisher swap. Granted, some of these might not be additions or substitutions due to the swap, but it was all shown during the demo I was graced with. Read More...

The Announcement We've All Been Waiting For: Kingdom Hearts III
by Kenton Winkfield [ Monday, 17th of June 2013 - 04:08 PM ]
It's been ten years since we first met Sora in Kingdom Hearts and watched him team up with Donald and Goofy on a quest to find King Mickey and ultimately save the various worlds in the Disney universe from the clutches of the Heartless. Through the next nine games to be released we have watched Sora and company grow up while facing new foes and making new friends along the way. As well as learning of the history of the Kingdom Hearts universe and everyone in it. On June 10th, 2013, during Sony's E3 Press Conference, a teaser for Kingdom Hearts III was shown with the words "In Development" displaying after it ended. Read More...
