Preorders for Sony's highly anticipated exclusive Resistance 2 have finally gone up. Through Gamestop, PS3 owners will be able to preorder the game for the listed price of $59.99. People who do preorder the game will recieve early access to the Resistance 2 public beta which according to the order sheet is set to begin in early October. On September 30th it was officially announced on the Rock Band forum that AC/DC is coming to the hugely popular Harmonix title. Though their song “Let There be Rock” is playable for Rock Band 2, currently out on the Xbox 360 and soon for the PS3, the band will also be getting the stand-alone treatment for both the original Rock Band and its sequel. Available only on disc and not a part of the DLC, the installment will be titled AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack and hits store shelves on November 2nd for the 360, PS3 and PS2. But plain and simple, on the official site, they are now taking registrants for the new Beta they seem to be rolling out soon. That is if you didn't get the opt in from any of the other sources that were allowing for you to get to see how cool this game is going to be before launch. After one delay, which has pushed the game back to October 14 2008, I about lost my mind. Sure, we are finally seeing a small break in the ridiculous gas prices but that doesn't mean anyone in their right mind would turn down free gas. EA games hears your plea, they care, they really do. That's why they are putting on an event called "Petrol for the People". Petrol for the People is a a promotional event for the game Mercenaries 2. Starting at 6am tomorrow morning at the Mobil station on 8489 Beverly Blvd and until the tanks are empty you can get free gas. The attendants will even be dressed as Mercenaries. Read More...

Rock Band 2: Rated No not and ERSB rating, already knew that would be T, but they rated the difficulty for the songs that are coming out on the disc at launch date. They also were nice enough to break it down by the different categories as well as overall band. No listing of how difficult, like on the current Rock Band Store, but early images show that is how the songs will be sorted out and displayed from the get go in the game. But at least here, you can prep yourself for what is to come. I do like seeing Tenacious D down in the ranks of Megadeth and Judas Priest in the level of difficulty. Read More...

If you're like me and own a copy of The Orange Box for 360, you're probably upset that the PC version gets all the good updates. But alas, Valve is finally bringing all the updates delivered via Steam to the Xbox Live Marketplace. New class-specific Achievements, new unlockable weapons for the Pyro, Medic and Heavy, new gameplay modes and new maps. Doug Lombardi, Valve marketing director, said that he wanted to build up a massive update for 360 users before delivering. But like a lot of good things there's always a price to pay. Read More...
