Screen Shots Like Tribbles
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 30th of July 2009 - 09:52 PM ]
53 Shots From Star Trek Online Just when you think things are about to go quiet and cold for the elusive Star Trek Online, a plethora of things come flying out from Cryptic. It almost seems like they really did have an invasion of tribbles that somehow mingled with their screen shots and just kept multiplying. They have gone from releasing just a few shots with numbers of around 6 to the 53 that you will see below. Either that or their PR team has been sitting on these since before E3 and just now thought, "Maybe we should release them now. Read More...

Movie Games Gone Wild
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of July 2009 - 05:44 PM ]
WARNER BROS. INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT AND LEGENDARY PICTURES PRESENT WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE Seems like a late announcement, but it was one that could easily be figured to have been made. Since most films nowadays get their own video game either based off or completely on the film in question. Why would there be any difference for Warner Bros. Where The Wild Things Are? So far they have yet to miss a game based on their films this year. Read More...

Kratos Coming to Comics
by Jesse [ Friday, 17th of July 2009 - 11:36 PM ]
Video games being adapted to comic book form is a natural fit. So it is probably not a surprise to hear that another one is coming down the line. But now, arguably Sony’s biggest franchise, will join the likes of Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Gears of War, Metal Gear Solid, and Resident Evil. Partnering with DC and Wildstorm, Sony’s blockbuster God of War video game franchise is the inspiration for an all new 6-issue mini series. The first issue is tentatively scheduled to debut in October with a run that should last roughly until the release of God of War III in March of 2010. Handling the project is comics legend Marv Wolfman. Read More...

Joker Is Committed For Life
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 15th of July 2009 - 04:49 PM ]
Batman Arkham Asylum The Villains August 25th is creeping up on all of us very fast. It's just a little over a month away from now. Why is it so important? Well that is when you get to take control of the Dark Knight in his brand, spanking, new video game Batman: Arkham Asylum. Taking control and putting those mentally ill villains back into their cages and cells. Now, just in case you forgot or lost track of the villains that you will be taking on head to head, here is a new trailer for the game showing you all of them again. Well at least featuring The Joker, Poison Ivy, Killer Croc, and Bane specifically. Read More...

Kuros Review (PC)
by Michael Camacho [ Wednesday, 15th of July 2009 - 01:02 AM ]
As a fan of hidden object and puzzle games, I was pleased to be able to review Kuros, the newest game from Sandlot Games. You begin the game as Katya, a young woman who finds herself in a mysterious land with no recollection of whom she is or why she is there. As she sets out to regain her memories, she finds herself solving the problems that have arisen in the strange land. The game consists mostly of locations in which you must discover hidden objects throughout each landscape. Each area consists of an Elemental Glyph (Fire, Water, etc... Read More...

Take Two Made My Little Sister Late
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 14th of July 2009 - 05:44 PM ]
Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. Provides Financial Update This makes me very sad to say, but it looks like the original release date of Late October of this year is no longer for BioShock 2. In fact a solid release date is no longer anywhere attached to BioShock 2 any more. Just a time frame. A year long time frame at that too. With only the excuse of needing to take extra time to give towards development time for the title. This places the sequel around 3 years after the original release on the PC and XBox and only 2 years since the PS3 launch. Read More...

Looks Like They Were Called
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 13th of July 2009 - 03:22 PM ]
Ghostbusters LPB Costumes Last week one of the fun little things announced for LittleBigPlanet was the addition of a cool little Ghostbusters costume for the game. Well a few of them, but we only got a glimpse of one. You know, the ghost logo guy. look it up on your own time if you don't remember. Well this morning, from the official PlayStation blog, a screen of all four of the costumes you will be able to get this Thursday was just placed for our viewing pleasure. That and a few user created tributes to the film using existing stickers and creation tool stuff and the music video for Ghostbusters. A nice little fun tribute from them for the film too. Review: Punisher No Mercy [PSN]
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 9th of July 2009 - 09:43 PM ]
MERCY!? You Want MERCY! I'm Chaotic Neutral! When the Unreal 3 Engine and game came to market, many of us looked at it in awe with the power it game developers and modders to make their own visually stunning FPS games. Other genres can work with it too, but it is totally an FPS engine. One thing I always though would do great was to have a shooter with some of the better of the licensed superhero characters of comic fame. Granted, Punisher was not the absolute first to come time mind for some reason, but it was the top three ideas I thought of. It was also an idea that Zen Studios came up with and make work extremely well with Punisher: No Mercy. Read More...

In Full View Of The Watchmen
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of July 2009 - 06:22 PM ]
Watchmen: The End is Nigh Just in case you couldn't and didn't get enough of Watchmen, film or game, Warner Bros. is giving you even more options. Even options for you XBox and PC users that kind of got the shaft the first time around with the release. Even though the more economic version of it all is still on the PS3. Mainly because it is all bundled in for the cost of the BluRay plus a little more. Starting on the 21st (A truly epic day), XBox users can download the first and second episode of Watchmen: The End is Nigh in a nice little bundle. Read More...

Who Ya Gunna Call?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 6th of July 2009 - 04:38 PM ]
LBP Ghostbusters So we all knew it was inevitable. With the new BluRay and video game out for the Ghostbusters franchise. Now they are invading the LittleBigPlanet world. Well at least we can assume that with the below image from the PlayStation Blog. No official word has been given about it yet, the blog post is just the image and the phrase "Who Ya Gunna Call?" on it. But it is probably safe to assume that we will be getting the close to racist looking Sack Boy in our LBP sometime in the not to distant future. Read More...

The Punisher Doesn't Do Mercy
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 23rd of June 2009 - 11:22 PM ]
‘THE PUNISHER: NO MERCY’ BRINGS DEATH AND DESTRUCTION TO THE PLAYSTATION®NETWORK With Transformers giving you the explosions and fireworks to start of the 4th of July (United States Holiday), ZEN Studios figured they would give PSN users the Bang. Yes, that was a bad stretch to get this worked in, but who cares what you think?* It worked for a good lead into what this is all about. Before you skip on to read the release below, let me sum it up for you. Read More...

Rumor Mill: New XBOX Console to NOT be released in 2010
by Ben Brody [ Wednesday, 17th of June 2009 - 02:59 AM ]
So you may have read my previous article in which 1UP reported that a new XBOX console was coming next fall. Well (more than) a few people called shenanigans. Throw Microsoft and Team XBOX into that circle now. "I think part of the excitement about this announcement is that in many ways we are delivering a next generation experience this generation. With that said, I can confirm that Natal will run on Xbox 360 so no new console investment will be necessary." says Aaron Greenberg, director of product management, in an interview with Eurogamer. Rumor Mill: New XBOX Console to be released in 2010
by Ben Brody [ Sunday, 14th of June 2009 - 01:09 PM ]
You heard right, a new Microsoft console is allegedly on the horizon for Fall 2010, to coincide with Project Natal. Let the name-game begin (to reiterate myself I would prefer XBOX 4 but more on this later)1up.com is reporting on something that I touched on yesterday, a new game console. If 1up's reports are to be true, than a new Microsoft console will be released alongside Natal next year. While it won't be a new XBOX, it will be more like an update. Think DSi to DS lite or PSP Go to PSP. Read More...

E3 Impressions: New Super Mario Bros. Wii
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 8th of June 2009 - 09:34 PM ]
A new Mario game was anticipated by the crowd as we all filed into the Nintendo E3 Media Briefing last Tuesday.  Many, including myself, were looking for a new Super Mario Galaxy, which we did receive.  That was not until much later in the show.  Well before that announcement was the announcement of the New Super Mario Bros. Wii.  More of a party game than a solo adventure, though it could be played that way, New Super Mario Bros. Read More...

Project Natal
by Kevin [ Monday, 8th of June 2009 - 05:54 PM ]
You clutch the weapon, your breath short as your lungs are barely functioning. You try and remember every point of entry the enemy will come from. You can hear the echoes of their battle cries fill every precipice and crack in the walls – but you hold still and ready. To engage them fully would be suicide you think, and the only death you are willing to give allowance to is theirs. So you sit, and you wait. Each moment becoming more visceral then the last, and then you see them, and your body empties a war cry from every sinew, bone, and cell. Read More...
