Our friend Six Okay over at GearsOfWar.com made an update yesterday afternoon telling everyone that there has been an update to Gears of War 2. Here is the breakdown of what's included in the fix: Exploit Fixes: Crabwalking, invisibility, weapon-slide, melee through walls, unlimited ammo. General Fixes: Shotgun and Boomshot updates, meatshield chainsawing updates, team communication, Insane gamer pic award. Balancing: Planted proximity grenade updates, increased quitting penalties, spawn protection, flamethrower stopping power. Improvements: Annex uses execution rules, achievement progression in the War Journal, added 7 DLC-based achievements worth 175 gamerscore. Read More...

A while back, I posted about a Gears of War 2 patch coming later this month. Now it turns out that coming along with the patch are seven new achievements. No official release date has been said, but should go live once the patch is released. All seven equal up to 175 points, mostly focused on the flashback and combustible maps. Well it turns out that you will be able to rock hard while playing Guitar Hero: Metallica In Europe this coming May. This was confirmed by Activision after GameStop boasted that the game will be released in the US on the 29th of March.The Metallica spin off  follows the Aerosmith version, and will bring with them full drum/guitar/microphone Guitar Hero World Tour kit support plus brand nw sounds for the GHTunes recording studio. Funcom to close over half of Conan servers Do you remember how about 10 months ago there was this game that was all the hype. I think it was called Age of Conan. Yea that's the one. The game that was plagued with a lot of build up and no pay off. Buggy as hell and pretty much done in a way that an MMO should not have been placed out there. Can you sense the upset from me? Got a twitter announcement today from Sega Of America letting everyone know they have launched a brand new site for House Of The Dead: Overkill.  The game is the latest in the series, due out on the Wii in February of this year.  Overkill brings a new style to the game series, which is more of a retro 70s style B-Movie. You and a friend take control of Agent G&Agent Washington while investigating disappearances in a Louisiana town. Microsoft's Robbie Bach announced during their company's CES Keynote that a demo for Halo Wars will be available for download February 5th. Robbie has also announced that instead of Halo Wars being released March 3rd, they are now moving it to February 28th. I am saddened to report that Hearst-owned UGO Network has purchased the 1UP Network from Ziff Davis. In what was thought initially to help improve 1UP and its financial standings, has turned out to be a grim surprise. After officially announcing the sale earlier, Ziff Davis Media CEO had this to say, “We believe this is a smart transaction for Ziff Davis Media that places these market leading assets and teams in a great environment poised for further success. The transaction allows us to pay down debt and shift our full focus to our core PCMag Digital Network business. Mark Rein from Epic has responded to everyone's complaints about all the glitches in bugs in the game such as equipping the shield with a 2-hand weapon, Lancers with infinite ammo, invisible shields and so on. That's all going to end soon. Posted on the Gears forums is all the details of what's coming in this patch."We're fixing a whole bunch of online exploits. A Tale Of Greek Tragedy? The Good: One thing that I really loved about this game was the story telling of the game. First that it was very Greek and somewhat very close to something one would read in their Ancient Histories class. Second, the fact that you could choose your own adventure as you go a long, with choices based on one of the four patron gods of the game. And these choices are more than what other games allow for. Give a video game franchise enough time and eventually it stops being about attracting new fans and the focus switches to catering to the hardcore fanbase. It happened to the Dynasty Warriors series, it happened to pretty much any EA Sports series, and it happened to Armored Core. So with the release of Armored Core For Answer, the thirteenth game in the series, it’s no surprise that even with Ubisoft taking over as publishers, developers From Software have stuck with the two basic elements of an Armored Core game. Fast and crazy action and a ton of customization. The last time we saw a James Bond video game that tied into a movie was the release of The World is Not Enough in November of 2000 and it wasn’t so hot. Since then there have been a handful of very good games based on original Bond stories and then of course there was an adaptation of From Russia with Love which once again fell a little short of expectations. Prince Of Persia With a little under two weeks until the release of Prince Of Persia on the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360, Ubisoft has announced several alternate skins that will be available for the game.
