Review: Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken
by Kenton Winkfield [ Monday, 22nd of October 2012 - 10:01 PM ]
The first time I heard the name Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken, I immediately thought to myself, “Oh God, what am I getting into.” Once again I am not disappointed. Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken is a platformer/shooter like that of the golden age. Combining beautiful backdrops, stimulating puzzles, and fast-paced firefights, Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken gives just enough challenge to keep any player entertained and on edge. The story Follows Hardboiled Chicken, The Cock of War, must rise against Putski, the evil penguin dictator. I couldn’t make that up if I wanted to. Read More...

Deadpool Adds Domino To The Roster Or Kill List
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 16th of October 2012 - 10:12 PM ]
So now that we have waited patiently for any news on Deadpool, the game not the character, it finally looks like we are getting just a bit more. A new character for the game as well as the Merc's own colorful words on said character. Who is this new character? None other than the girl who can get lucky with anyone, Domino. Points if you catch the pun. Domino is well known for having been part of Six Pack and X-Force in the Marvel universe. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 17th of September 2012 - 04:05 PM ]
Here we go with another Transformers game. They are seriously coming out like Call Of Duty titles now. One every year and hey why not, obviously we like them enough to line the pockets of the developer's and publisher's pockets with greenbacks. So how does Transformers: Fall of Cybertron fair? Let's see. Story The Autobots are serious in trying to leave Cybertron this time around and are getting there Ark ready to go. Wouldn't you know it that those damned Decepticons want to stop them and do a great job at it. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 10th of September 2012 - 05:20 PM ]
With Comikaze Expo coming up here soon we can expect more about Deadpool to be coming to the public. So before that, let's go over a bit that has been released so far as well as a few more screens showing what Deadpool does best. Bring on the guns. Bring on the katanas. Bring on the best super power ever, Common Sense. So as is to be expected, the combat will blend a mix of sword and gun play. Just as the trailers and screens have implied, expect a spinning whirlwind of death and (bang) explosions. Read More...

We're also taking suggestions for the next game we do. Leave a comment below to let us know. Read More...

Now that you're thinking about MMOs and how to categorize them, join the guys as they discuss business models, how to categorize MMOs and whether they are dropping out of the mainstream. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of July 2012 - 05:13 PM ]
He's been featured in a few games and has mostly been used for cameos, but now the 'merc with a mouth' is finally getting his own shot at video game stardom. That's right, Deadpool has been officially announced and the game is coming. Don't fully believe it yet? Then go ahead and check out the announcement trailer that snuck in at the San Diego Comic Con last week. Hopefully that will prove more to you. Don't be too surprised with the lack of any real substance being shown here though. Read More...

My Top 20 Favorite Video Game Tracks Of All Time
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 25th of June 2012 - 06:53 PM ]
Since we do a lot of standard news and reviews on Aggrogamer I think it's time we get a little personal. I am a huge fan of music. I love listening to it and I most certainly enjoy creating it. So here are my top 20 all time favorite themes from a video game. Enjoy. Note: the first 15 are in no specific order but the top 5 are in order of epicness. Spider-Man&Venom: Maximum Carnage - "Carnage Rules" An epic opening to one of the best Spider Man games of all time Serious Sam: The First Encounter - "Fight 5" When this song pops during an epic fire fight in Serious Sam, your adrenaline surges through your veins as you enter "The Zone" Mirror's Edge - "Kate (Puzzle)" I loved Mirror's Edge and this song was so soothing and relaxing. I still listen to it a lot. Read More...

After playing Double Dragon Neon I thought to myself "What other games should come out with a sequel?" and alas I composed this list. I hope you agree with the gist of them, if not leave a comment down below. Zombies Ate My Neighbors (1993) A loveable run and gun zombie game that came out for the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo. Review: Sniper Elite V2
by Fred Buell [ Tuesday, 1st of May 2012 - 06:15 PM ]
Rebellion Developments just gave us a "reboot" or "remake" of the 2005 shooter of the same name, Sniper Elite: V2 which takes place in the same time frame. This time rather than infiltrating the Nazi Army in disguise, you are a lone sniper against both the German and Russian WW2 militaries. Referencing the real life "Operation Paper," you must sneak behind lines and kill, or rescue, German scientists from creating and launching deadly V2 rockets. The game plays very smoothly; only on few occasions, and probably at my provoking the system, did I experience any spots of being stuck or absurd clipping. Sniper Elite plays as you would hope and expect any 3rd person shooter to play. Read More...

That's One Brutal Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Trailer!
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 27th of February 2012 - 11:42 PM ]
So, I just finished watching the new "Brutal" Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City trailer and it has sparked my imagination, surprisingly. I want to know what was the most brutal, misanthropic, hellish and death splattered concrete path you've ever taken in a video game. Did you sit in front of a grunt in Halo and cackle maniacally as you emptied clip after clip of assault rifle ammo into its lifeless corpse and watch your frame rate drop hysterically due to the massive amounts of blood? Did you play Splatterhouse? That's a treat in its own right. Read More...

Darksiders The Novel Coming To A Store Near You
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 2nd of February 2012 - 11:54 PM ]
Here's some interesting news for the gaming world here. It looks like there is a novel being written for the Darksiders franchise. The interesting part is that it doesn't seem to be linked to the story of the current games, which is Darksiders and Darksiders II, outside of the characters. Well at least not directly linked as the story will be taking place a millennia before the events of the first game. Here's the basic break down that we have at this time. In DARKSIDERS: THE ABOMINATION VAULT, the Horsemen of the Apocalypse (beings charged with maintaining the Balance between the forces of Heaven and Hell) have uncovered a plot to resurrect ancient weapons of unimaginable power. 10 Things You Ought To Know: The Sims Social
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 31st of October 2011 - 10:04 PM ]
Love 'em or hate 'em, Facebook games are a part of today's general gaming landscape. They come in many shapes and sizes – requiring various amounts of your time and (the developers hope) money. It's hard to give a hard and fast review on Facebook games, which like any other Massively Multiplayer Online game, it is constantly evolving. In lieu of a review, I decided to pull out my 10 Things You Ought to Know-style article and take a look at The Sims Social. You’re going to ask a lot of your friends. Read More...
