E3 2014 Impressions: Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 18th of June 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It Now for the doozy of a game from E3, Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Love the franchise or hate it, Call Of Duty is still one of the largest titles in gaming history and thankfully it seems to be pushing the technology more and more in the recent years. I know some of you would complain about its annualization and how the mechanics have been going downhill for a while but from the showing that Sledgehammer brought they really left and impact. As the name implies. Read More...

E3 2014 Impressions: Dragon Age: Inquisition
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of June 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Dragon Age: Inquisition In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It If there was an award for longest demo at E3 The Phantom Pain would win the gold but Dragon Age: Inquisition is a strong silver medal. A solid 35 minute of the game was shown off in a nice air conditioned booth and it showed everything to how massive the world of the game is going to be, to how your choices will impact more than just the narrative been the physical world as well. That is to be expected though as it is a Dragon Age title though. None the less, let me jump in and tell you want I think of this next installment to the franchise. Read More...

E3 2014 Hands On: Alien Isolation
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of June 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Alien Isolation In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It So this is more of a two-for-one instead of just hands on for Alien Isolation at E3. There was a nice long showing of the game in a demo driven by one of the developers at Creative Assembly but then shortly after there was a bit of a challenge map that let us all experience the horror of Alien Isolation first hand. In fact it was a demo that was all about the stealth and escaping the Alien not trying to hunt it down. I'll dive into the driven demo first then explain how it actually felt to drive it all myself. E3 2014 Impressions: Mortal Kombat X
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of June 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Mortal Kombat X In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It Mortal Kombat X was teased and rumored long enough before E3 that it was no real big surprise to see it play out on the big screens during the press conferences. By no means am I saying it wasn't a treat to see but there was no real shock and awe moment as the game was fully announced. But that is really all that happened on the big screen leaving much to be desired beyond the long lines of fans waiting to see what Ed Boon had in store for us; not to mention the two new characters promised to be shown off during the event. But beyond that long line was much more than was to be expected… First and foremost was the fact that we got to see not only two new characters to the Mortal Kombat universe but we got to see four. E3 2014 Impressions: Batman: Arkham Knight
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of June 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Batman: Arkham Knight In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It If there was one title I was looking forward to seeing more of at E3 it was Batman: Arkham Knight. That was even before the epic showing during the Sony press conference and the other awesome gameplay snippets. It is one of the few titles that truly looked next gen to me back when it was first announced and it still holds up even though it was pushed out further for launch. None the less I was able to see a bit more for Batman: Arkham Knight that wasn't shown to the public at large. Read More...

E3 2014 Hands On: Battlefield: Hardline
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of June 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Battlefield: Hardline In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It If there was one game at E3 that made an impression before I even got to play it, it was Battlefield: Hardline. Unlike most games on the show floor where there is just a themed room/area for a game; there was a whole experience for Hardline at the EA booth. All who were playing had to be "processed" and moved along into a semi-interactive experience. In the end we went through a "jail break" of sorts and brought right into an epic game of cops and robbers. Read More...

E3 2014 Impressions: Homefront: The Revolution
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of June 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Homefront: The Revolution In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It Yet another title announced just shy of the official E3 startup was Homefront: The Revolution. One of the IPs that was picked up from THQ during their fire-sale following the shutdown of the company. This time being helmed by Crytek using that oh-so-beautiful engine of theirs and published by Deep Silver. I was lucky enough to sit through a demo, no hands on here, for Homefront: The Revolution so sit back and enjoy the breakdown I have on what I think about what I saw. Read More...

E3 2014 Hands On: The Evil Within
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of June 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See The Evil Within In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It Here is yet another title that I have been dying for and am going to have a fun V-day with The Evil Within. It was on the floor here as a playable demo, the first time I've had a chance to actually get my mitts on the game; all in a nice and creepy setting to boot. Just the way a game like this needs to be played. I only wish Bethesda would let me take home some of the decor to place up in my god-cave so I can replay the same experience. Read More...

E3 2014 Impressions: Dead Island 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of June 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Dead Island 2 In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It Ah Dead Island 2, now here is a title I can completely get behind and that was based just on the trailer that announced that the game was coming. Who doesn't like a little zombie killing action in a non-depressing yet not-over-the-top comedic way? More or less the balance between The Walking Dead and Dead Rising in terms of tone and mood. Yes, the previous titles were not all that well received but I blame that on other critics not know what is truly good for them to unwind and eviscerate. Read More...

E3 2014 Impressions: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of June 2014 - 09:20 PM ]
While at E3 I got to see Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in a more intimate setting than just the trailer. Here's my take on it All of the teases and short shows of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain can all be put aside now as we were given a new and nice look at the game and features that have yet to be announced or shown in a public form. It also kind of puts the whole demo thing for Ground Zeroes to the side as with what was shown here at E3 was considerably more and with a demo you should get all of the game's mechanics and features. Yes the core running, stealth, and shooting are all the same but here is what we didn't get to play before but will once The Phantom Pain launches. Read More...

E3 2014 Impressions: HUNT: Horrors Of The Gilded Age
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of June 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
While at E3 I got to see HUNT: Horrors Of The Gilded Age in a more intimate setting than just the trailer. Here's my take on it Talk about a hidden gem with HUNT: Horrors Of The Gilded Age coming from Crytek. We had an official announcement just a few weeks ago but it didn't do much to impress me as an original IP but more the blending of two other IPs coming soon. I could not have been more mistaken after seeing what they had to show on the floor at E3 for HUNT: Horrors Of The Gilded Age. It does have similarities to games like The Order: 1886 and Evolve but it really shines as its own idea. Read More...

Deep Silver Knocks It Out With Another Amazing Trailer For Dead Island 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 10th of June 2014 - 07:35 PM ]
Dead Island 2 was announced at the Sony press conference and just as before it came with an amazing trailer to show it all off If I had to say one thing that Deep Silver does insanely well it has to be trailers for games and they did it again for Dead Island 2. If you were unable to catch the trailer in the middle of the Sony press conference out here at E3 then you are in luck as I have included it below for your viewing pleasure. It will also save you the time of having to scrub through the recap of the press conference just for the Dead Island 2 trailer so there is that as well. But enough of the sucking up. Read More...

Go Into The Urban Jungle With Battlefield: Hardline
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of June 2014 - 09:01 PM ]
EA and Visceral Games have made Battlefield: Hardline official and here is the trailer for the game to prove it I guess it only took a few 'leaks' of Battlefield: Hardline before EA and Visceral decided to let the secret out into the wild. It is sad that all of these other 'reputable' and 'deserving of early footage' outlets have decided to ruin the fun and excitement that I am sure EA was looking for at E3 but what is done is done. We can now be certain that Battlefield: Hardline is coming and that we will hopefully be getting a nice long look at it on the show floor and moving forward in the coming months leading up to the full launch of the game. October 21st for those who may be wondering and haven't just jumped down to the trailer already. Read More...
