Review — Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 26th of March 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
We Sit Down And Review Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Is it just an expensive demo or a real fun game? Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes has been labeled as one large demo and prologue to The Phantom Pain. In fact there have been gameplay sessions of the game that show it can be completed in a little over seven minutes. The game is also not the same price as a normal retail title but it is still $30 but is it worth the price of admission to Metal Gear Solid V? Let's dig in and see if you should drop the cash and time. Read More...

The Forest Looks Like An Awesome VR Version Of Don't Starve
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 25th of March 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
A new trailer and screen shots for a PC/Oculus Rift title called The Forest have come from the mist. It really reminds me of Don't Starve… Sometimes it really bothers that I miss other amazing looking games like The Forest while covering other titles out there. I am sure it happens all the time as I am just one entity and there is so much going on the wide world of gaming. But I caught it and now it is time to bring you all what I have found and how exciting it looks. So, let us take a look at The Forest. Read More...

The Division Gets Some New Screen Shots And Night Time Gameplay
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 24th of March 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
Nine new screen shots for The Division have been released and we have them below. Just a lack of game details though. The Division is still looking top notch. It should, given how powerful the Snowdrop engine's tools have been shown to be. Well, we have a few more new screens for The Division down below for us all to look at. Nine new images that show what looks like all in-game images given the names hovering over other characters in the scene. What seems to be grabbing all the attention from everyone here is that these new screens for The Division are mainly focused on nighttime gameplay. Read More...

This Week In Gaming 3/17/14 — 3/21/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of March 2014 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming. Talk about an exciting week in gaming. It was to be expected given the fact that GDC was happening this week and I feel bad that we couldn't cover every aspect of gaming in the news here. At least we covered quite a bit on the VR that was all the rage, including Project Morpheus from Sony. We also got to hear about a rumored Assassin's Creed title that was later officially announced as Assassin's Creed Unity. On top of that it looks like we are also getting a new version of Gauntlet too. Read More...

New Dev Diary For The Snowdrop Engine…Oh, & Some The Division Gameplay
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of March 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
A new developer diary for the Snowdrop Engine has surfaced from GDC. Learn about the engine a bit and see some gameplay for The Division. This is going to be yet another of my famous, I wish, talks about game engines and where they have advanced; specifically the Snowdrop engine again. If you are unfamiliar with the Snowdrop engine, it is what Ubisoft and Massive have built for the upcoming title The Division. I've also pined over this engine a bit in the past and it will keep going like that as we keep getting videos that show off its power. The kind that I have provided a little bit lower. Read More...

Spectre Looks Like Stay Alive But For Real
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 18th of March 2014 - 09:02 PM ]
Here is some new footage of Spectre, a Kickstarter virtual reality horror multiplayer game using the Oculus Rift. Looks like it could be creepy… It's hard to believe that it has only been eight years since the film Stay Alive came out and there really hasn't been a video game made to try and copy it. Even as I write this article I have yet to hear of anything. That was until I heard about a new game called Spectre. Read More...

How Fast Can You Beat Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 18th of March 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes was always claimed to be short. But ten minutes short? Check it out. There has been no big secret that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is a short game. The length lent itself to the lower price for the game as well as the lack of a platinum trophy in the end game. That said, would you believe that it can be beaten in about ten minutes? Yes, I said ten minutes. Read More...

This Week In Gaming 3/10/14 — 3/14/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 14th of March 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming. This has really been the week of reviews in gaming hasn't it? We reviewed Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow 2, The Walking Dead — S2E2, South Park: The Stick Of Truth, and Race The Sun. There are still more in the pipe at that but it has been one crazy week of reviews for all of you to ingest and get our informed opinion about the games that matter right now. Reviews aside, there have been some interesting developments for Mirror's Edge 2 and Tales From The Borderlands at that. I still can't believe that there is a rumor that ME2 is going to reboot the entire franchise yet still carry the numbered title. Read More...

Who Wants To See How They Are Creating Alien Isolation?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 13th of March 2014 - 07:03 PM ]
There is a new trailer for Alien Isolation rife with pre-alpha footage as well as the overall goal of Creative Assembly for the franchise. I guess the answer to the above Alien Isolation question is you. You want to see it and we have it for you. Granted there isn't much new in the way of footage from the game but what we have more of is Creative Assembly's vision for Alien Isolation. Not the whole thing but enough to make any gamer a little more excited about a new Alien title given the folly of the previously release game that will not be mentioned. You can take a quick look but as usual I will give you a bit of the break down so you don't have to be glued to the screen trying to get the details and just plain enjoy yourself. Read More...

Review: Race The Sun
by Kenton Winkfield [ Thursday, 13th of March 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
We sit down and review Race The Sun from Flippfly on Steam. What's more fun than a futile high speed chase to keep yourself from dying? The gentlemen at Flippfly have given us just that with Race The Sun, a simple yet difficult racing game where you must avoid walls, spires, fish, blocks, and even shadows to delay your imminent death. Flippfly is an indie game studio that was started by two brothers in 2012. Their experience in both web design and video game programming has led them to create amazing works of video gaming art that haven't been seen before. Read More...

Review: The Walking Dead: Season 2 — A House Divided
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 11th of March 2014 - 05:02 PM ]
We Sit Down And Review The Walking Dead Season 2 - A House Divided. It's The Second Episode. Does It Keep The Steamroller Of A Franchise Rolling? The short wait is over and it is time to continue where Episode One left our little group of survivors in the middle of the end of times. There is a lot going on this time around as the 'villain' of the season has been presented and taken a leading role. Here we go with a hopefully spoiler free review of this episode. Should you be downloading and playing through it right now even with all of the other great titles out? Read More...

Review: Castlevania Lords Of Shadow 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 10th of March 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
We Sit Down And Review Castlevania Lords Of Shadow 2. This is the supposed finale to this iteration of the franchise but does it end on a high note? It is been a long time coming but I finally got to play Castlevania Lords Of Shadow 2 in all of its glory and non-demo version. I've been a bit worried about the visuals of the game as well as the controls since I first laid hands on the first build. You can imagine that I wanted to put this to the test and see if this would be the way that Mercury Steam wanted to end the Lords of Shadow story. Let's bite into this review already and see if the franchise has been bled dry or if there is still a bit of immortality left. Read More...

More Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Screen Shots To Shake A Stick At
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 7th of March 2014 - 06:00 PM ]
We have a plethora of new screens for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Look it's Psycho Mantis! We are quickly coming up on the launch of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes so it's good that we are getting a few new screen shots to help tide us over until that date. Most of them look lifted from gameplay videos that we have seen before or just title screens so…wait a hot minute…is that Psycho Mantis? Holy crap it is and in his PS1 low res glory. Maybe it is worth a deeper look at all of these new screens just to see what else we have going on here. Read More...
