Have An Alternate History Lesson On Prey's TranStar Corporation
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 18th of October 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
Prey Another video for Prey has been released and this one gives us all a little background on Prey's alternate history we'll experience We've seen a bit of the story for Prey already and of course we all knew that there would be more to it all. I mean, Arkane Studios needed to give us a better reason to be on the space craft other than "just cause." There is already another game titled that anyways. Well, as it looks, we do have more on the story of Prey as Bethesda has brought us a new animated short that goes through the paces of the alternate history that will lead to the game's events. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 14th of October 2016 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site And thus completes our week in video games. Well more the week in news and updates about games but I'm sure you get the point by now. We've been all over the place here again as we had some amazing updates for Friday The 13th and Battlefield 1. We also were able to see how fast both Hitman and King's Quest could be on getting out their next and final episodes and that is not to exclude the fact that Batman is getting another so quick as well. All kinds of great updates for our video games even if some of them seemed to be a bit basic in the end. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 14th of October 2016 - 09:00 PM ]
King's Quest The fifth episode of King's Quest has been given a date and it looks like we'll be wrapping King's Quest before the end of October now It may have taken quite a bit of time to get the fourth episode of King's Quest out to us but it looks like The Odd Gentlemen have kicked up the game and now we are seeing the fifth and final episode here in under a month. Yes, we will be seeing this episode on October 25th for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. Just in time for all of those King's Quest costumes for Halloween to be a bit more relevant for those who have been following along with the Sierra Entertainment reboot to the franchise. Read More...

Friday The 13th: The Game Is Getting Single Player, But There's A Catch
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 14th of October 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
Friday The 13th The much requested single player feature for Friday The 13th: The Game has been confirmed but that means that we won't be seeing Friday The 13th launch this year It looks like we have yet another good news/bad news scenario here and this one crops up for Friday The 13th: The Game. It has been one title I have had close to my heart since Gun Media and Illfonic first announced it and kept bringing us more and more for it during the days of Kickstarter. That's why I'm going to start with the bad news here first for Friday The 13th so we can get to the positive side of all of this. Read More...

Dishonored 2's Level Possibilities Feel Endless With Their Themed Missions
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 13th of October 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
Dishonored 2 Another developer diary for Dishonored 2 has released and this one delves into the endless possibilities that Dishonored 2's levels should feel to have We've seen some great level design so far in Dishonored 2 over the marketing campaign and showing off of the game so far. It looks like it will be another impressive feather in the cap of Arkane Studios when it finally hits the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 11th. Of course all of that does come with the worry that Bethesda has only allowed the best parts of Dishonored 2 to be shown off so far and have hidden away any blemishes that might be there or will still be there after launch. Not like that never happens in the video game world right? Read More...

Just How Will South Park: The Fractured But Whole Surpass Its Predecessor
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 11th of October 2016 - 09:00 PM ]
South Park A new interview with the developers of South Park: The Fractured But Whole shows off just how they are making this new South Park longer and better Recently we had the news that South Park: The Fractured But Whole was being delayed until Q1 of 2017 with very little explanation outside of making it a better game and experience for us all. The usual excuse given by developers when they can't make the deadline. The only difference here is that it looks like Ubisoft is going into a bit of the detail as to why we are waiting for our next adventure into South Park on the PS4, Xbox One, and/or PC as well as a few other things to look forward to. Which Yu Will You Be In Prey When It Releases
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 10th of October 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
Prey While Prey is trying to tackle the theme of identity in the game it looks like Prey will let you have some choice in the matter Here we go with another bit of gameplay footage for Prey here although it may not be exactly what you think. As it turns out, Arkane Studios is looking to tackle the "theme of identity" in the game in the midst of all the craziness and horror. Of course this may have been something we've seen and heard a few times from Bethesda already over the last few months but it is being brought up again. Brought up in a way that when Prey finally launches in 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC that we will be given a choice. Read More...

We Can Make A Lot Of Daring Escapes In Dishonored 2 Too
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 6th of October 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
Dishonored 2 More Dishonored 2 gameplay has been released and now we get to see how we can exfiltrate missions in Dishonored 2 no matter the chaos So far we've seen the many ways to get in and kill our targets in Dishonored 2 but we all know that is only half of the challenge in the game as getting back out undetected or not is the other half we have to worry about. Of course Arkane Studios could have taken the easy way out and made it so we didn't have to worry about that but then what fun would that be? Just as before, we have a new bit of gameplay for Dishonored 2 to show off just how we can get out of all the situations we set up using the full range of powers granted to us in the game. Let's Lower The Chaos With More Dishonored 2 Gameplay
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 3rd of October 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
Dishonored 2 A second video of Dishonored 2's Clockwork Mansion has been released so we can see how Dishonored 2's stealth play works a bit Last week we had a chance to see some new Dishonored 2 gameplay that took us through an area called the Clockwork Mansion in the game. We had both a run by what looked like a novice player and then one run by Arkane Studios directly; both of which caused a whole lot of chaos and lacked any finesse to get through it all. It looks like Bethesda wanted to make sure that all of us looking forward to Dishonored 2, that have different style of play, get a taste of the mission as now we have it running through yet again but on Low Chaos mode. Mode being a general term and not a setting here. Read More...

Let's Spoil The Prologue Of Gears Of War 4 For You
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 29th of September 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
Gears Of War 4 A new Gears Of War 4 video has been posted and this time we get to see the first twenty minutes of Gears Of War 4 in action before launch October 11th is almost here and that means that Gears Of War 4 is also almost here. I'm sure that The Coalition is starting to freak a bit as the date looms ever closer but at this point all they have to do is sit and wait to see how well it sells on the Xbox One and Windows 10 platforms. I'm going to guess rather well personally. Given the nature of the beast that is Gears Of War 4 though it looks like they aren't going to just kick back and wait as now they are here with a nice long bit of gameplay. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 9/19/16 — 9/23/16
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 23rd of September 2016 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games Thus concludes our week of video games. Another solid week and not so many bad bits of news and delays. Of course that doesn't mean it was all happy and bouncy but in the world of video games that never seems the case. Thankfully we had some solid things like a new Jason and Counselor for Friday The 13th, the next episode of King's Quest finally coming, and all of the death dealing coming to Dishonored 2. A lot of videos and a lot of fun for the week and just the way it needs to be as we press on into the review season here. Read More...
