So the 120gb PS3 Slim is out, how does it compare to the older, fatter, more mature PS3? Well the first thing I noticed was, “Damn, that box is a lot smaller than my old PS3's box”. The next thing I noticed was, “Damn, this is a lot lighter than my old PS3.” The lighter, smaller PS3 is a little wider than the old PS3, but it's slightly wider girth is greatly overshadowed by the smaller height, the lower profile, and the overall sleek, matte black, design. The PS3 sports a new 45nm processor, which, technical differences which I will not get into aside, requires less power. The power cord itself is just a standard unpolarized C8 cord (non-technical term: the same one the PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, SNES, NES, 3DO, etc all use), as opposed to the beefier C13 (aka IEC, nontechnical term: the one that your PC, monitor, and TV use) that the older PS3 uses. DataBox Games: Nine guys in their mid-20s on an island off Sweden. They are all attending Gotland University and working on their final thesis for their Bachelor's and Master's Degrees. Why is this important? Because much like the current wave of independent titles that flood the Xbox Marketplace - they are just a bunch of people with a love for games trying to deliver a unique experience. They don't have a major machine behind them, but they have a passion for crafting something that we can all get into and as such are definitely worth promoting around these parts. The game that they are currently working on is Penalty of Heroes, which I believe is their 26th title; most of the previous 25 have been made in ten weeks or less and have more fun crammed into them then a great majority of bigger budget titles. Well it's about time...Pyro Studios, creators of the famed Commandos series, is set to release a new Commandos game more in line with the first title in this WWII strategy franchise. How many of you recall the critically low scoring FPS shooter that was Commandos: Strike Force? Yeah, even Pyro Studios was less than enthusiastic about the title. Well, players will be happy to know that this time around they are going to be bringing back all the tactical gameplay that players knew and loved. Batman: Arkham Asylum - Release Trailer Just in time for the official release date, in North America, come what will be the coolest looking trailer/advertisement for Batman Arkham Asylum to date. Even better than the sing skeleton video they have showing off the Scarecrow DLC you get for pre-ordering at GameStop. Albeit, not as funny, but it is one of the best views of the game that the general public will get a look at before they actually get to pick up the game. Crysis 2 Teasers Ok, well it isn't really for sale. At least not in the real world. But from watching the below video clips you could think otherwise. Well kind of. Guild Wars 2 Trailer Who wants to see what Guild Wars 2 is going to look like? I know I do. With this new video I thought I was going to be let down a bit. Sack it to Me – the "Big Announcements" Edition You ever hop into the level creator for LittleBigPlanet and feel like there was something missing. Something that stopped you from being able to faithfully recreate the entire game of Super Mario Bros. using their sandbox. Something you couldn't quite place your finger on.
