by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 5th of January 2012 - 07:47 PM ]
Today, the guys over at Team Meat have proudly announced - via their Twitter page - that Super Meat Boy for the XBox Live Arcade has sold over a million copies. "Fun Fact: Super Meat Boy past the million sales mark last month! PLATINUM BABY!" - Team Meat Twitter. I'm so proud of Team Meat with this amazing feat of strength - a whopping one million sales. This is extremely impressive for an indie arcade game. I personally love Super Meat Boy. Read More...

Learning To Fly Max Payne Style
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 5th of January 2012 - 12:11 AM ]
I swear if we were suppose to figure out what a game is all about from just the screen shots and video shared from companies we would all be way off most of the time. A good example would be the below screen shots from Max Payne 3. It looks like a good mixture of campaign as well as multiplayer mixed in here. So let me take a stab at what I'd say the game is all about based off these. First, it's all about flying around an industrial playground shooting whatever you can. Read More...

Epic Mickey 2 Accidently Announced... Not Just For The Wii
by Irene Collazo [ Wednesday, 4th of January 2012 - 07:28 PM ]
Talk about an oops moment. Looks like Disney let slip, and then quickly removed, an announcement for Epic Mickey 2 in a recent newsletter sent out. While this isn't the first "rumor" that there was a sequel in the works, this is definitely more proof that the title is in the works for all of you out there who enjoyed Epic Mickey. Here's what was posted and subsequently removed: Disney's Epic Mickey 2 is the latest game in the critically acclaimed Disney's Epic Mickey video game series. In this all-new action-platforming game available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii, Mickey embarks on an epic journey and is pulled back into a world filled with Disney's forgotten characters. Review: Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 2nd of January 2012 - 02:17 AM ]
I'm not one for re-makes or "re-imagining" when it comes to video games. I think that it shows a lack of innovation in the industry when developers should really be pushing forward. It is how I feel and there won't be much changing of my mind in this area. So you could only imagine how I felt when I heard that Just Add Water was "upgrading" Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath to be a whole new HD version. Why "upgrade" instead of make something new for the developer? Now that I have that out of the way, just like when God Of War got the HD treatment, I see why they chose to do this six years later. Top 5 Items Pushed Into 2012
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 28th of December 2011 - 05:05 PM ]
As 2011 comes to a close, it's easy to point out that once again the games industry has had an incredible year of releases. So many in fact, it would be simple to say that games pushed in to 2012 are okay because we already have so much to play. While I do not necessarily disagree with that statement, I think about the games already slated for next year that I want to play - i.e. BioShock Infinite, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Tomb Raider and XCOM - and I'm wondering when I will find the time to get into the things that were pushed back from 2011. Looks Like I Am Part Of Prototype 2's Blackwatch Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 20th of December 2011 - 10:12 PM ]
So given my past employment history, it has never been much of a surprise when something comes my way that is listed as "Classified" or "Top Secret". It still weirds out the neighbors and the girlfriend, but that is acceptable weirdness to me. Especially when it is filled full of stuff for one of my favorite franchises in the video game world, [Prototype 2]. So let's see what had to be black boxed and delivered in such a manner. Hey look, a load of posters to help barricade off my home into sectors I want people in. Read More...

New Twisted Metal Trailers
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 20th of December 2011 - 05:35 PM ]
A couple new trailers for Eat Sleep Play's Twisted Metal have been released, one featuring my favorite character, Mr. Grimm and the other featuring Dollface. The trailers showcase a little bit of each characters back story, a hefty dose of heavy metal and some sweet, sweet game play. I grew up playing the original Twisted Metal games, so seeing one of my favorite childhood franchises come back guns blazing in a hail of fire and bullets makes me crack a smile across my face, ear to ear. The first trailer is Mr. Grimm, who is a different person from the last installment (Twisted Metal: Black) but is just as cool, showing us some of his signature weapons like the "Flame Saw" which is an exploding chainsaw that has been grinding on the concrete for a few hundred feet. Gingerly Touch Your Swords Together. Sorcery Is Still Alive
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 19th of December 2011 - 10:43 PM ]
I remember way back in 2010 when Sorcery was first shown off to the world at E3 during Sony's press conference. Then there was a surprising lack of anything to do with the game except the parallels with Medieval Moves: Deadmunds Quests, which I'll admit I thought was a redesign since Sorcery was labeled a working title. But now, I am overly surprised and happy to bring you some new footage and visuals for Sorcery, which no longer seems a working title now. You might be thinking to yourself right now, "Wait, why are you so excited for this game? Read More...

Hey Look Another Post Apocalypse Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 18th of December 2011 - 07:24 PM ]
So it looks like Naughty Dog is working on another new IP to try and move away from being stuck in the "We make Uncharted and Jax" slump they've been in for the decade. I mean really who wants to be known for making those games right? I jest and am happy to hear that the studio is going to try something new for themselves and move away from churning out sequels. They've done great things as far as innovating the visual effects the PS3 can pump out. So let's take a look at this new IP called The Last Of Us. Read More...

Square Enix Taking Pot Shots At Ubisoft With Agent 47
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 16th of December 2011 - 05:44 PM ]
If you've visited this site for a while now, you most likely know that I am one who enjoys taking shots and low blows at people, designers, companies, babies, kittens, artists and pretty much anything that can understand the words that come out of my mouth. Sometimes even when they don't. I am also a fan of when someone slyly places a comment in a trailer that is seen by a large population of people who follow these things. I'm talking about us gamers and stuff shown on Spike's "award" show. If you look below, you will see a new trailer for Hitman: Absolution. Read More...

by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 14th of December 2011 - 08:51 PM ]
Alright ladies and gentlemen it's time for another installment to everyone's favorite program. First up we got a trailer for the opening cinematic to Blizzard's upcoming masterpiece; Diablo III. The trailer features our old friend Deckard Cain narrating a prophecy foretold in one of his many books. I personally cannot wait for Diablo III. So if you watched the VGA's over the last weekend you more than likely saw the new trailer for BioShock Infinite. If you didn't, you can check it out below. Just please come back up here and read if you decide to skip on down. Having watched the trailer I find myself asking: "Where's the new stuff?" The Best DRM I've Ever Seen
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 7th of December 2011 - 10:26 PM ]
In the world of Digital Rights Management (DRM) there have been a lot of cruel and unusual punishments for those who dare pirate video games; even punishment for paying customers because of some random glitch or what not. So in my travels around the internet I've stumbled upon what could be the greatest DRM scheme ever: An Immortal, Insanely fast pink scorpion. That's right. For those who pirate Croteam's Serious Sam 3: BFE, they will find themselves, from the opening of the game, fighting off an immortal pink scorpion that does not stop attacking until you die.
