Here's Why You Should Get The Darkness II
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 9th of February 2012 - 05:52 PM ]
With the recent release of The Darkness II, I feel obligated to convince you guys to give this game a shot. I recently had a conference Q&A with the developers of The Darkness II. It was a fun and exciting new experience for me to sit down and listen to what challenges they faced while making the game and what are their personal favorites about the game. The Darkness II takes place two years after the first game, Jackie has gone from a mob hit man to the don of the family. Jackie has had the Darkness subdued for a couple years until he is attacked by an organization called "The Brotherhood" who know all of the Darkness' strengths and its weakness. Read More...

Darksiders The Novel Coming To A Store Near You
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 2nd of February 2012 - 11:54 PM ]
Here's some interesting news for the gaming world here. It looks like there is a novel being written for the Darksiders franchise. The interesting part is that it doesn't seem to be linked to the story of the current games, which is Darksiders and Darksiders II, outside of the characters. Well at least not directly linked as the story will be taking place a millennia before the events of the first game. Here's the basic break down that we have at this time. In DARKSIDERS: THE ABOMINATION VAULT, the Horsemen of the Apocalypse (beings charged with maintaining the Balance between the forces of Heaven and Hell) have uncovered a plot to resurrect ancient weapons of unimaginable power. The Where's Waldo Edition Of Darksiders II
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 26th of January 2012 - 06:29 PM ]
No there isn't a new edition of Darksiders II being announced. But the new "Death Eternal" trailer for the game has that feel to it. After watching it the first time I felt like I needed to go back and play along with each new showing of Death in the background or foreground. It's a fun game to do here because the "trailer" doesn't show a single thing about the game and should be labeled more as just a marketing video. Outside of Death's mask being shown over and over and a pre-rendered character model at the end this video is more fluff than anything. Don't fret though. Read More...

What's New With Call Of Duty Elite These Days?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 24th of January 2012 - 11:05 PM ]
Not too much for you unless you are playing Call Of Duty on the 360 and a Premium Member to the Elite service. Even if you are don't expect more than the first two of twenty "Content Drops" for what is dubbed Content Season. Yes I know I used the word content quite a bit here, but bear with me and you will see what those in the listed circle are able to get as far as new content for Call Of Duty. You most likely guessed it if you haven't skipped to the video below that is showcasing the new content. We are getting two new maps. Read More...

BioShock Infinite's 1999 Mode Makes It Not So Infinite
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 24th of January 2012 - 08:14 PM ]
Maybe it is just me but I find it funny that before when talking about BioShock Infinite the phrase "infinite possibilities" was tossed around and now there is a mode that makes everything worlds more finite. I'm talking about the 1999 mode that has been announced for the game. This mode is more or less another difficulty level like Normal or Hard except that it has one major difference; everything you do is set in stone. At first you might think that is mostly the case from before. You pick up a skill and that is your spec path for the most part with a little branching possible later. Read More...

What Do The Devs Of Darksiders 2 Think Of Death?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 21st of January 2012 - 07:30 PM ]
That is a good question seeing as they are bringing Death to life (sorry) in the game. For the answer to the question we can turn right to recent "Death Rises" Developer's Diary for Darksiders II that has hit the internet. Let's take a look. Before I get into all the cool things shown here I need to get something off my chest. Do you find it funny that the character Death is automatically labeled to be male? Yes the character model is masculine as is the voice, but for something that is more of a Force of Nature over a Gendered being I find it funny that the default is to go with male. Read More...

2K's XCOM Has Been Delayed Until 2013
by Fred Buell [ Thursday, 19th of January 2012 - 05:04 PM ]
More or less the title here says it all. XCOM won't be coming out this year unless there is some craziness that happens in the coming 11 months. This could happen, but as of now it does not seem all that likely. I do have to say though, I find this extremely odd given what we've seen over the last two years. At E3 2011 XCOM actually looked like it was in the final stages of alpha testing and would soon be moving into the beta phase. It looked like it handled very well and all of the features that the dev team talked about were implemented extremely well. Read More...

Learning To Fly Max Payne Style
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 5th of January 2012 - 12:11 AM ]
I swear if we were suppose to figure out what a game is all about from just the screen shots and video shared from companies we would all be way off most of the time. A good example would be the below screen shots from Max Payne 3. It looks like a good mixture of campaign as well as multiplayer mixed in here. So let me take a stab at what I'd say the game is all about based off these. First, it's all about flying around an industrial playground shooting whatever you can. Read More...

Top 5 Items Pushed Into 2012
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 28th of December 2011 - 05:05 PM ]
As 2011 comes to a close, it's easy to point out that once again the games industry has had an incredible year of releases. So many in fact, it would be simple to say that games pushed in to 2012 are okay because we already have so much to play. While I do not necessarily disagree with that statement, I think about the games already slated for next year that I want to play - i.e. BioShock Infinite, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Tomb Raider and XCOM - and I'm wondering when I will find the time to get into the things that were pushed back from 2011. by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 14th of December 2011 - 08:51 PM ]
Alright ladies and gentlemen it's time for another installment to everyone's favorite program. First up we got a trailer for the opening cinematic to Blizzard's upcoming masterpiece; Diablo III. The trailer features our old friend Deckard Cain narrating a prophecy foretold in one of his many books. I personally cannot wait for Diablo III. I loved the first two installments of the franchise a lot and spent countless hours on Diablo II. Read More...

The Underwhelming BioShock Infinite VGA Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 13th of December 2011 - 11:58 PM ]
So if you watched the VGA's over the last weekend you more than likely saw the new trailer for BioShock Infinite. If you didn't, you can check it out below. Just please come back up here and read if you decide to skip on down. Having watched the trailer I find myself asking: "Where's the new stuff?" Isn't that the point of debuting a new trailer to the web world? Isn't that the point of the VGA's these days, anyways? Read More...

Fan Made BioShock Movie Teaser
by Matt Waitt [ Friday, 2nd of December 2011 - 05:29 PM ]
In my long and weary travels through the harsh and sometimes beautiful lands of the internet, I have come across a video on YouTube by the username of "TheBioshockMovie" which only has one upload which was about a week ago. The upload is titled "BioShock Movie (2013) - Trailer". While it's more of a teaser, this fan-made video has definitely impressed me. The teaser starts off with some junk on a beach as the camera pans to the right we see a wallet, a shoe and then a man. A man who just happens to be holding a Big Daddy doll, then a sharp cut to a real life big daddy, a man screaming and what seems to be the man holding the doll getting swept away from a surge of water. Gearbox Making A Borderlands 2 Cosplayer's Dream A Reality
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 1st of December 2011 - 05:45 PM ]
Hey you! Yes you. Let me get personal for a second. You happen to be between 18 and 30? Are you Y chromosome deficient; or possibly tried cutting that day Y off? You got a way to make it to Dallas, TX? If you can answer yes to all of those, I got someone down there who want to check you out. Not only check you out, but pay you to look at your face and take a lot of photos to be used in all different forms of media. I'm talking film, photograph, magazine, website and even video game. Yea, the above sounds like a weird Craigslist ad that would most likely end in you being raped and killed. Read More...
