Review: Batman: Arkham Asylum
by Jesse [ Monday, 31st of August 2009 - 07:17 PM ]
If I’m not mistaken, Batman: Arkham Asylum is the twenty-first video game centered around the Dark Knight. Going all the way back to 1986 and the first game, appropriately titled Batman, I’ve only really found a handful of the games that can be considered at the very least decent. The SNES version of Batman Returns was great as a typical side-scrolling brawling game and of course more recently there was last year’s Lego Batman which was good for a laugh or two. However nothing really captured the spirit of the character, let alone his environment and for the games that tried, they failed miserably. But Batman is one of those characters that people are willing to take a chance on. Read More...

They discuss the games they have been playing, including Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Little Big Planet, Red Faction, Batman and Drama Queens. We reveal our latest Bargain Bin titles featuring games for the PC, PS3 and Nintendo DS this week. We also pull out the WD-40 as the squeaking is out of control this episode. Time To Clean Up Arkham
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 25th of August 2009 - 01:38 PM ]
Batman: Arkham Asylum - Release Trailer Just in time for the official release date, in North America, come what will be the coolest looking trailer/advertisement for Batman Arkham Asylum to date. Even better than the sing skeleton video they have showing off the Scarecrow DLC you get for pre-ordering at GameStop. Albeit, not as funny, but it is one of the best views of the game that the general public will get a look at before they actually get to pick up the game. Even more so earlier for those across the big blue ocean to the East, they have to wait a few more days to have the Caped Crusader on their systems. Read More...

Time To Travel Back Into Time
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 10th of August 2009 - 10:23 PM ]
From the articles I have written or hearing me on the Aggrocast, you probably know I'm excited for a little title called Darkest of Days. Well today independent game developer, 8monkey Labs, and Phantom EFX, a leading developer and publisher of entertainment software, has announced today that on August 11th 2009 a demo of Darkest of Days will be available on the PC. Aaron Schurman, Chief Executive Officer at Phantom EFX had this to say: "Custer's infamous last stand at the Battle of Little Big Horn, and the Battle of Antietam, the bloodiest day in American history… these are just a few of humanity’s darkest days, and you can dive into both of these in the Darkest of Days demo. This hour-long demo lets players experience unrivaled carnage and to experience what it’s like to use futuristic weapons in period settings and see what happens when you alter history while fighting against hundreds of enemies during some of man's greatest struggles in History! Röckin' Gööd Time!
by Binh Nguyen [ Sunday, 9th of August 2009 - 09:57 PM ]
With the release of Brütal Legend getting closer and closer everyday, I am sure someone is wondering what the soundtrack for the game will be like. Well we find it where they take metal to the extreme. Where is that you say? How about Denmark. That's right EA Denmark has the list of over 100 songs for Brütal Legend. After looking over the list, it sure made me feel like I am watching MTV (back when they actually played music videos) when I was younger. Bands like Dokken, Megadeath, Judas Priest and many many more. Read More...

Watch the training video, before you fire that gun
by Binh Nguyen [ Friday, 31st of July 2009 - 05:26 PM ]
Darkest of Days is only a little over a month away before their September 8th release of the game. If this is the first time you have ever heard of the game here is a brief overview, or read my E3 impression. But overall you are a time agent going back into different parts of time and solving the reasons why history is changing. Did I mention that if you screw up history also that other agents will come after you? No? Read More...

Batman Arkham Asylum The Villains August 25th is creeping up on all of us very fast. It's just a little over a month away from now. Why is it so important? Well that is when you get to take control of the Dark Knight in his brand, spanking, new video game Batman: Arkham Asylum. Taking control and putting those mentally ill villains back into their cages and cells. Now, just in case you forgot or lost track of the villains that you will be taking on head to head, here is a new trailer for the game showing you all of them again. Well at least featuring The Joker, Poison Ivy, Killer Croc, and Bane specifically. Read More...

by Binh Nguyen [ Tuesday, 16th of June 2009 - 05:06 PM ]
Getting tired of all the World War games out there? I’m sure you’re not the only one, myself including. *cough*World at War*cough*. But, have you ever wonder what it would feel like being a part of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War? How about the battle of Antietam? I am sure you want to kill you want to kill a Spartan with your machine gun. Well you now can with 8 Monkey Labs newest release, Darkest of Days. At E3, I was one of the lucky few to find out about this new IP. Read More...

E3 Hands-On Impressions of Batman: Arkham Asylum
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 8th of June 2009 - 11:05 PM ]
Batman: Arkham Asylum One game that seemed to be at every one of the big companies booths, sans Nintendo, was Batman Arkham Asylum. It even had it's own booth show casing it as well as an area in the Warner Brothers booth, with leather restraint chair for those who got to bonkers while checking out this game. You might be laughing, but we had to restrain Church at one point. Well he kind of just hopped into it for some reason, but this is not the point of this article. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 29th of April 2009 - 07:58 PM ]
Plethora Of Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicle Visuals As stated in the article about Dead Rising 2 yesterday, the information, screen shots, video, and pretty much everything else that Capcom wants the world to see and get jazzed about is pouring out of the wood works. So yea, be prepared for the Capcom flood here with all kinds of crazy stuff for you to take in and enjoy. Here are loads of screens stopped and perfectly taken from the trailer/game play video for Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicle for you to digest. Digest like the zombies and bio-weapons that Umbrella has created in this game. Read More...

What's in the box? Valves new game?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 24th of April 2009 - 05:36 PM ]
http://whatsinthebox.nl/ So what is it? New Half Life? Portal? New IP? Very interesting. Some folks have uncovered some very interesting things about this website as of late. Digging through the code, seems its a website for Valve. There have been users all over the net deciphering this since early this morning. Seems that when you mouse over the circle there is some Hex code, also in the source code is a website http://babel-research.eu/ which has some very interesting Black Mesa, Aperture Science, and the Hanso Foundation Logos. Become The Clown Prince Of Gotham
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 24th of April 2009 - 03:29 PM ]
The Joker To Be Playable Character In Batman: Arkham Asylum Only On The PS3 So yesterday you might have caught an accidental glimpse of an ad in PSHome. A completely accidental update that wasn't suppose to be seen until, well, today. Some might think it isn't a big deal to have a slip like that, but in this instance it is. Well if you are a fan of Batman and The Joker. Officially announced today, after placing and removing the ad accidentally yesterday, Eidos is now proud to tell the PS3 owners of the world that if they pick up a copy of Batman: Arkham Asylum for the console they will get to play as the Joker himself in the game. How Do You Like Her New Uniform?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of April 2009 - 11:03 PM ]
Villains in Batman Arkham Asylum What kind of Batman game would the new Arkham Asylum be if it only had the main baddy of the Joker and a slew of crazed "escaped" patients for Batman to wade through? Well a short type of game really. There are only so many regular patients for you to incapacitate before you got your hands around the killing jokester. Or just very repetitive. Which is why we can rest assured that this one will be a very interesting and fun game, as here are two more of the named baddies you will have to face off on. Read More...
