Infinity Ward Keeps Melting Down
by Brian Goodman [ Friday, 16th of April 2010 - 05:17 PM ]
You can not follow game industry news and not have noticed the countless reports of the drama currently going on between publishing giant Activision and successful Call Of Duty developer Infinity Ward. Even legitimate news sources have covered the huge lawsuit frenzy that has been going on. Today, industry analysts have suggested that as many as 20 more Infinity Ward Employees are projected to no longer be employed by the company in a month's time (source Gamespot). Even though strong sales of the Modern Warfare 2 map pack DLC suggest a short term financial positive for Activision, the stock has continued to go down. I may not be a business tycoon or an expert economist, but I do know this Activision. Read More...

Naughty Bear Makes Bear Cakes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 16th of April 2010 - 03:10 PM ]
Wow, 505 Games is really trying to throw out these Naughty Bear clips like there is no tomorrow. Like they are truly trying to rewrite the book of "How To Be More Like Hades™" hard core. First with the rip off of Rule #324 and now with Rule #56, Always eat or trick others into eating the corpse left behind victims. It's the perfect crime. Don't believe me. Read More...

Nier Is Teaching Us To Fear Books
by Andy [ Thursday, 15th of April 2010 - 05:26 PM ]
After watching the launch trailer for Nier, seen below, I will say that if this was all I knew of the game, I could see it as a story of Bibliophobia. That is the fear of books to the layperson. Why would this be now? Well the entire trailer shows how books have somehow gained enough power to destroy the world and attack young children. It says it right in the trailer too. "Forbidden Pages Lead Him Onto A Path Of Destruction. Read More...

Review: Mega Man 10
by 345 [ Thursday, 15th of April 2010 - 03:08 PM ]
Mega Man 10 (available on XBLA, WiiWare, and PSN for 800 MS Pts/1000 Wii Pts/$10, respectively) is an incredibly fun and enjoyable entry in the classic Mega Man series. A follow-up to 2008's Mega Man 9 in more ways than just a new number, this game takes a lot of the feedback and criticism the latter had to craft one of the best sidescrolling experiences in years. While there isn't a whole lot Capcom and Inti Creates actually changed in the bigger scheme of things, Mega Man 10 features a lot of new tweaks and balance adjustments that make it far less threatening than its predecessor and more entertaining in the long run. While there are some tough areas in the game, overall I wouldn't call it difficult at all, and perhaps it is one of the most fair games in the series. Read More...

Naughty Bear's Book Of Naughty: Rule 135
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 14th of April 2010 - 10:29 PM ]
I don't know about you, but I am starting to get a little tired of these Naughty Bear videos that 505 keeps pumping out. Not that I don't enjoy them. Not that I don't find humor in them. It's just that I want to know what this game is all about and see some actual gameplay or purpose. To me it is like they are trying some kind of viral marketing plan that really was not well planned out. I mean, if I didn't know better, these videos would make me think that there is a new show coming to Adult Swim and not a video game. Maybe it is just me. Read More...

by Binh Nguyen [ Tuesday, 13th of April 2010 - 03:33 PM ]
If you somehow missed Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night, then you missed one of the hottest trailers to grace your television screen. It is no secret what Cliff Bleszinski and the rest of the crew over at Epic Games are working on with the pre-mature announcement over on XBL (way to go Microsoft to blow that news). Well it was time to showcase to the world, or the few that could actually stayed up to watch Jimmy Fallon, the new trailer for Gears of War 3. “When we released Gears of War more than five years ago, we set out to tell the world an unforgettable story of bravery and sacrifice in the face of insurmountable odds, and a year from now, players will get the chance to experience the final chapter in the story of Marcus Fenix and his companions in Delta Squad,” said Cliff Bleszinski, Design Director of Epic Games. Have you had you healthy dose of F.3.A.R. today? Or at least your healthy dose of creepiness? If the answer is no, then you have to check out the announcement trailer for F.3.A.R. down below. If you don't feel like you need a rape shower afterward, then we need to be better friends. But in any instance, consider this your announcement that F.3.A. Read More...

Infinity Ward Founders Respawn
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 12th of April 2010 - 06:01 PM ]
Not long ago Activision "let go" the co-founders of Infinity Ward, Jason West and Vince Zampella. Well it looks like these two guys have decided to start a new gaming company and get a new publisher. Jason West and Vince Zampella are two industry leaders who brought the amazing Call of Duty franchise to homes everywhere. Now brushing off the dust from a rumor filled departure, Jason and Vince have founded Respawn Entertainment. The website is up and running, and probably the simplest website in the world. by Kevin [ Friday, 9th of April 2010 - 03:33 PM ]
This week, AggroGamer will be presenting a review for Dark Void, for a new series entitled, "Games You Missed, Which Might Not Be a Bad Thing." The first title to get this treatment will be the action title Dark Void that was developed by Airtight Games and published by Capcom for the PS3, 360 and PC on January 19, 2010. In the meantime, the more well received iteration of the game, Dark Void Zero will be headed to the iPhone and PC. This 8-bit title was celebrated for its controls and retro gameplay and graphics, and was often compared in a more favorable light to its big brother. Read More...

Little IncrediBig Planet
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 30th of March 2010 - 06:03 PM ]
There are few things more disarmingly cute than the sack population of LittleBigPlanet. They have had many "guests" come through their game, including the Pirates of the Carribean, the comedic antics of the Ghostbusters, the vengeance soaked Ezio from Assassin's Creed II, the borderline confusing narrative prowess of the Watchmen, the grizzled veterans of the Metal Gear Solid series, and many more. Well, coming April 8th Pixar is diving into the fray with The Incredibles pack for the LittleBigStore. The Playstation Blog proclaims, fairly proudly that, "This huge pack features NINE costumes: all of The Incredibles family (including a “Retro” Mr. Read More...

Rock Band Going To Metal Metal Land
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 30th of March 2010 - 03:50 PM ]
I knew it was going to be only a matter of time before the metal overlords known as GWAR made the move onto Rock Band. They hit up Guitar Hero already so why not move onto the Rock Band Network and spread their domination even further. Especially since Harmonix made it so much easier for bands to upload their songs to the network. Only a three week turn around most of the time, so they claim. There is no news on what songs or when the songs would most likely be seen, but from the interview performed at SXSW with lead singer/front man, Oderus Urungus, it looks to be in the works.
