A new collectors edition as been announced by Bungie for Halo: Reach, which will be available in standard, Limited and Legendary editions when the game launches this fall. Thanks to 1up.com for reporting on a Chicago Comic-Con panel that long time Batman voice Kevin Conroy was speaking at. Conroy has reportedly said that Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 will be "really really dark" and that legendary, iconic villain, Two Face, will be making an appearance. I say awesome. I, like everyone else, loved everything about the first Batman: Arkham Asylum and I feel it speaks really well that an unknown newcomer like Rocksteady Games can rock our worlds with the first good Batman game ever (and a rare piece of quality licensed work). Its nice to see them not only expand deeper into the Batman universe, but also do so with the finely polished third person gameplay the market had not seen in a long while. You can not follow game industry news and not have noticed the countless reports of the drama currently going on between publishing giant Activision and successful Call Of Duty developer Infinity Ward. Even legitimate news sources have covered the huge lawsuit frenzy that has been going on. Today, industry analysts have suggested that as many as 20 more Infinity Ward Employees are projected to no longer be employed by the company in a month's time (source Gamespot). Even though strong sales of the Modern Warfare 2 map pack DLC suggest a short term financial positive for Activision, the stock has continued to go down. A month or two ago, it was announced that someone had figured out how to crack the PS3 to allow for home-brews and "pirated"/backed up PS2 and PS3 games to be played on the system. It was not explained how for a week or two after the announcement that it could be done in a way that could not be patched. But this isn't the news here. Activision finally reveals details, including the pricing, of it's first DLC content for Infinity Ward's latest best seller game, Modern Warfare 2. So far there will be three brand new maps, titled Storm, Salvage, and Bailout. They will also be throwing in two graphically enhanced maps from the original Modern Warfare, which are Crash and Overgrown. The price for these five maps is a ridiculous $15, or 1200 Microsoft Points. If anyone may recall, the only map pack released for Modern Warfare was four maps for only $10, or 800 MS Points. I think everyone saw this coming at some point. When you have a game series with such wide appeal as the Left 4 Dead series, the need to push it out to other platforms becomes fairly obvious. Though I suspect that at some point we will see this game make its way to handhelds in some form or another, this announcement deals with Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 shuffling its zombie feet to the Mac OSX through the glory of Steam for the Mac.
