Review: Exo-Flex Skins
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 8th of October 2009 - 06:25 PM ]
We as gamers are always looking for a way to stand out and be original so we can be identified in our virtual space. Also most of the time in our real world presence as well. Be it clothing, cosmetics, or skinning and modding our PCs, consoles, and the controllers that go along with them. Sometimes as basic as a few stickers and others as extreme as a full metal shop built Alien case for a PC. But sometimes we gamers either lack the tools or capabilities to build something that expresses our inner selves on our gaming gear. That's where companies like Exo-Flex and their artist step in and offer up full case stickers and decals for us to slap on and be original. Read More...

Review: Dead Space Extraction
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 5th of October 2009 - 07:42 PM ]
It all started just a little under a year ago. The exploration of terror in space in a nice little title called Dead Space. A game that I reviewed as my game of the year last year. A game that I deemed brought back those feelings of the first time you cracked open Resident Evil on the PlayStation. Just like RE you were left with loads of questions and left wanting more. Now along comes Dead Space: Extraction. Dead Space: Extraction lets players roll through all the events that lead up to Isaac and crew rolling through the USG Ishimura in fear of getting back off with their lives physically and mentally stable. Activision Releases More Track Lists for Band Hero
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 1st of October 2009 - 07:47 PM ]
There comes a time when you realize there are certain products are just not for your demographic anymore. Maybe it was when you were hitting puberty and realized that while you may still like Saturday morning cartoons, the commercials annoyed you rather than interested. Or perhaps you tried to watch The Tonight Show before Jay Leno was replaced and realized every joke was for the geriatric crowd. Reading today's press release from Activision really demonstrated to me that while I may enjoy rhythm games, Band Hero is not being marketed to me. Band Hero is the long lost love child of Guitar Hero: World Tour and High School Musical. Read More...

Extracting More Images Of Fear
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 29th of September 2009 - 02:20 PM ]
Dead Space: Extraction comes out this week on the Wii. This Tuesday to be exact. On a system that the core game was never on, only rumored about being on. But at least it is on a system that is made perfectly for a rail-shooter style of game. As the Resident Evil franchise has shown in the past and in the not too far off future. But that is not to say that the visuals are not going to be geared up to shock and instill horror in the minds of its players. In fact, here are a bunch of shots from the game and concepts to prove that point. Read More...

Review: Scribblenauts
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 29th of September 2009 - 04:06 AM ]
There are times when you are playing a game that you simply say “They got it right.”  It could be during a puzzle or moving through open spaces or fighting enemy AI, but usually it only happens once or twice, or if you’re lucky, several times.  Imagine playing a game that gives you that feeling in almost every one of the 220 puzzles packaged into that tiny Nintendo DS cartridge.  Welcome to Scribblenauts. You play as Maxwell. Review: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 25th of September 2009 - 08:33 PM ]
The Civil War saga in the Marvel universe has been one of the best stories to grace comic books in quite some time. It's a great story that is an allegorical commentary in the wake of 9/11 and The Patriot Act. In the storyline, a Superhuman, Nitro, goes nuclear in Stamford, Connecticut, killing hundreds during a reality TV show. A TV show that was like COPS but following the New Warriors. Once this happens, the US public demands that Superhumans answer for their actions and the Superhuman Registration Act is put in place forcing heroes to come out and show who they are. Read More...

by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 24th of September 2009 - 04:00 AM ]
Today Nintendo announced that the Nintendo Wii will drop $50 to $199.99 this Sunday the 27th. This coming on the heels of the PS3 Slim release and XBox 360 Elite price drop to $299.99. Nintendo DLC For The Week Of 9/21/09
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 22nd of September 2009 - 05:39 PM ]
Another week of download releases by Nintendo means another week of low-hanging fruit for criticism on the choices for DSiWare downloads. Also included in this week is another Commodore 64 game for Virtual Console. At this point, I wish there was a defensible position to take on some of these choices for DLC. We have five releases this week across the three platforms. The lone Virtual Console title, Last Ninja 2, is from the Commodore 64. Read More...

Calling All MMOs
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 22nd of September 2009 - 02:14 PM ]
Finally some great video on what playing a game of APB is going to feel like. At least if you can find a group of people online that are ok with having a good time and not trying to compete against each other to shame one another. People that you can imagine in control in this video. Like say for instance, the person that tried to use a car to take out someone. Or the person who was walking, looked over, and said, "Oh Shit! A Car! Read More...

Wii HD? Head Of Square Enix Spills The Beans
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 21st of September 2009 - 05:02 PM ]
Well well well, Looks like the rumors are now leaking from the higher up's. During a Fincanial Times interview at the Tokyo Game Show with Yoichi Wada- President of Square Enix, he mentioned that the three platforms (XBox 360, PlayStation3, and Wii) will join the same playing field by 2011. He expects Nintendo will release the new Wii that year which could contain similar features (see HD) as it's competing consoles. Also he made mention of a possible new controller scheme for the Wii system. Since he was in a chatty mood, he also spoke about the rival systems and their adaptation of Motion sensing technology, saying that “Present game machines already have a lot of functions: they are a network terminal, a Blu-ray or DVD player, and a gaming machine. Follow The Yellow Brick Road
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 16th of September 2009 - 09:50 PM ]
Sometimes you find a game that really doesn't get much recognition, but it looks innovative and graphically impressive at the same time. The Wizard of Oz: Beyond The Yellow Brick Road is just that. Media Vision, producers of the Wild Arms series, is bringing this Japanese released title "RIZ-ZOWAD" to north American retailers on September 29th 2009. The Wizard of Oz is a turn based RPG title following the adventures of the Dorothy, Toto, Tin-man, Scarecrow, and Lion. I'm sure we all know the story, but this game is sure to twist it around and make it it's own. Read More...

Have I Got A Story For You
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 15th of September 2009 - 04:26 PM ]
It is the job of trailers to get people excited about the product coming out. It's generally short version of the awesome that is in store for you when you get the full version. That or a small release of information that makes you look at the product and say, "Well shit the bed! That is awesome!" Something that they new Character Trailer for 2K Games and Gearbox Software's upcoming game Borderlands. I will admit that this game was a very small blip on my radar. I won't lie like those sites that review games with out playing them. Read More...
