BioShock 2 Shows Us How To Use The Scout Plasmid
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 27th of January 2010 - 10:32 PM ]
During your play through of BioShock, didn't you always wish there was a way to Scout out what was going on in the next room? Wouldn't have been nice to be able to do that and also set up or actually attack enemies in the next room so they were weaker before kicking down the door for the attack? I know I would have saved a few deaths if I was able to do that. Actually screaming out "I wish I could [insert what I said above]" when I died. Not really, but I can picture it in my head. Be A Hero With New Halo Maps And Bring Relief To Haiti
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 20th of January 2010 - 09:19 PM ]
Who bought Halo ODST just to get those exclusive maps for Halo 3 to play through? You know, those exclusive maps that brought your total count up to 24 maps to play on. Those maps that you could only get by buying ODST. Yea those ones. Well it would seem that they are no longer exclusives come next month. At least for those of you that have no issue shelling 800 Microsoft Points to get them added on to your Halo 3 multiplayer experience. Yes I am talking about the Heretic, Citadel, and Longshore maps. CES 2010 Impression: Psyko 5.1
by Binh Nguyen [ Saturday, 9th of January 2010 - 07:11 PM ]
Psyko Audio may not be the first to release a 5.1 headset and they certainly will not be the last, but Psyko 5.1 was named one of the CES best of 2009. Does this new headset deserve such a title? Well I decided to give them a visit while I am here at CES 2010 and see how well the headphones are shaping up. I met up with James Hildebrandt, CEO and Head of Psyko Audio, and he gave me the rundown on the headset.  The first thing he had me do was listen to some music from the Blue Men Group for a full two minutes as he pointed out where the music was coming from the headset indicator. CES 2010: Tritton Technologies
by Brian Bentley [ Saturday, 9th of January 2010 - 02:26 PM ]
Here at CES 2010, we had the opportunity to stop by and visit with Tritton Technologies to see the "next big thing" in gaming headsets.  Tritton's Aaron Smith took us around the booth giving us a guided tour of the AX-180, AX-720 and the AX-Pro.  He was kind enough to suffer through our questions and a video recording.  The did not have their upcoming release of a wireless version of the AX-180 at this show, but look for it at PAX East.  So, take a gander at the video Binh recorded and leave your comments on the products below. Review: Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 7th of January 2010 - 09:56 PM ]
Though Spirit Tracks is far from innovative, it boasts enough improvement in gameplay and graphics over Legend of Zelda’s previous release on the Nintendo DS, Phantom Hourglass, to insure its success.  Not every game has to be groundbreaking to entertain its audience.  Spirit Tracks takes fans of the Zelda franchise into another quest to save Hyrule – this time with Zelda’s spirit accompanying and assisting Link along the way.The story, including why you need to visit the Tower of Spirits, is not particularly innovative, but it has a certain amount of charm. A few generations after the adventure of Link and Tetra in Phantom Hourglass, peace reigns in Hyrule with Princess Zelda ruling. Read More...

EA shutting down multiple online servers
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 6th of January 2010 - 02:34 PM ]
Below is a list of games that will no longer have multiplayer support as of February this year.  EA says you can play these titles up until the actual shutdown date.  Community programs could shut down earlier, depending on circumstances.  A little surprise for you football buffs, Madden 09 is on this list for a February 9th shut down date.  What does that mean, that means you're gonna have to shell out some cash for Madden 10 if you want to get online and get your fix.Be sure to note which platforms are being shut down, not all titles are being shut down on all platforms, so make sure you take a good look as to which platforms will no longer be available. Holiday Gaming Memories
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 29th of December 2009 - 08:50 PM ]
Now that Christmas has come and gone, we reflect on the joys of the holiday and the time we now have to enjoy the fruits of commercialism. Pull up a chair, and grab your favorite console, and take a listen - it's story time. There was a time before Halo, before Uncharted, a time of purity. An age of gaming declared glorious in its simplicity. It was dubbed 8-bit. It was pure pixeled perfection, and it was a time of punishing difficulty, limited continues, and precision timing. Nintendo and Xbox want to Monitor your health
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 22nd of December 2009 - 03:14 AM ]
Ever wonder what it would be like to hook yourself up to your Xbox or Nintendo Wii and have it monitor certain vitality signs, use the data to change your avatar accordingly, or tell you what your feeling during certain points of a video game. Imagine status updates but from your internal Biology, take that Facebook!Microsoft recently patented tracking of players physical characteristics and converting that information to reflect on your avatar.  Of course a third party device would have to be created first, but Microsoft would pick up all the info and beam it into your Xbox Live account, making your Avatar look more like you. You know the storyline.  You know the tricks.  But how is it still so fun?  New Super Mario Bros. Wii is another smash hit in a long line of Mushroom Kingdom mayhem courtesy of Nintendo.  Staying with their desire for accessibility, Nintendo took all the ideas and concepts that made the original Super Mario Bros. 2D platforming franchise a success and used that as the base for New Super Mario Bros. by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 8th of December 2009 - 12:40 AM ]
EA announces today Dead Space 2... again.... formally this time....  That's right your favorite silent hero Isaac Clarke is making a comeback. Although certain people who will remain nameless *cough* Glenn Schofield *cough* have already mentioned back in October that Dead Space would be getting a sequel, it seems Visceral Games wanted an actual press release, just to make it all official and fancy.Visceral Games (Previously known as EA Redwood Shores) have much to say about the new title:“We’re thrilled to jump back into the series, making the next chapter in Isaac’s journey. The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it. Read More...
