CES 2012: Sony Wants You To Go 3G
by Brian Bentley [ Saturday, 14th of January 2012 - 12:53 AM ]
During CES this year, Sony made more than a few announcements to entice users to not only purchase a PlayStation Vita, but for them to invest the extra $50 and spring for the 3G model. For the unfamiliar, the 3G data will be provided by AT&T. Ever since Sony announced the 3G version at E3 2011, there have been more than a few skeptics as to how useful a 3G version would be. I am of the opinion that Sony heard the cries of their constituents and worked with AT&T and their other partners to attempt to make the 3G model appealing. Here is a list of factors that may have you thinking about going 3G. Read More...

CES 2012: Six Facts About The PS Vita
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 13th of January 2012 - 12:55 AM ]
I will be one of the first people to admit that I have remained skeptical on the PlayStation Vita - even after putting hands on to the high-end handheld at E3 2011. The announced price point of $250 for the wi-fi version wasn't even enough to convince me. Then compounded on that the decrease in sales in the Japanese market after launch, I was beginning to believe that I would be definitely passing on the Vita. I'm not going to say that I've been thoroughly convinced here at CES 2012, but with only a month or so remaining until the US launch of the PlayStation Vita, my views have definitely shifted away from doubtful towards probable. Here are some of the things I've learned here at CES that may help move you as well. Read More...

by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 31st of October 2011 - 04:28 PM ]
Episode 89 has the Aggrocast mixing things up. Writer Matthew Waitt joins Brian and Corey for the podcast filled with talk of World of Warcraft and everything Blizzcon 2011. You'll also hear Brian pretty much speechless as he tries to wrap his head around why people are still excited about WoW. It's not just a WoW podcast, as we talk about Diablo III, Starcraft II and the almost complete absence of Titan. We also learn more about Matt, do Whatcha Been Playing and still make time for a sweet Care / Don't Care. We are currently still having a technical issue with our usual feeds, so in the mean time, click here to listen, press play below or use the link below to download it directly. Read More...

Mists Of Pandaria Is The Next WoW Expansion
by Matt Waitt [ Friday, 21st of October 2011 - 09:16 PM ]
What started out as an April fool's joke has just turned into something far more serious. That's right folks; Mists of Pandaria is the new expansion to World of Warcraft. Blizzard said that they would be turning out expansions for World of Warcraft a lot sooner than they did in the past. Before there was an expansion about once every two years. But Cataclysm has only been out for about twelve months, so I guess Blizzard held up their promises. Anyways, the new trailer shows off the land of Pandaria, a place highly influenced by Asian culture and architecture. Read More...

Tribes: Ascend Closed Beta Is Just Around The Corner *UPDATE*
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 10th of October 2011 - 10:02 PM ]
According to an interview with Todd Harris the COO of Hi-Rez Studios has announced a closed beta for Tribes: Ascend will begin November 4th! The confirmation came during an interview with Cyberlink. I got my hands-on with Tribes: Ascend at this year's Quakecon: 2011 and it is as close to the original that any game could get. Large 16 multiplayer maps, armor and weapon load outs and a disc-launcher that would make any FPS proud. The biggest hook is that this is team based combat and it really shows on these large maps. by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 28th of September 2011 - 05:01 PM ]
Every year BlizzCon bring some of the most amazing talent to their closing ceremonies at BlizzCon and this year is no exception. Usually fans wait patiently to find out who will be this year's guest and Blizzard has really outdone themselves. With past musical performances by Tenacious D, Ozzy Osbourne and The Offspring, this year we will welcome the Foo Fighters will grace the stage at the Anaheim convention center during the event held October 21st - 22nd. Over the course of their 16-year career, the Foo Fighters have sold tens of millions of records, won half a dozen Grammy awards, and raised countless voices in sing-alongs of iconic anthems like "Everlong," "My Hero," "Learn to Fly", "All My Life," “Best of You,” and “The Pretender.” Foo Fighters' BlizzCon debut marks founder Dave Grohl's triumphant return to the convention after playing drums for Tenacious D in last year's show, and comes during an international arena, stadium, and festival tour promoting their seventh album, the international #1 record Wasting Light. Battlefield 3 Battleblogs
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 19th of September 2011 - 06:11 PM ]
So in my travels around the land of the internet I've come across some pretty cool stuff in regards to Battlefield 3. If you head on over to their website they've been giving some pretty sweet updates via their "BattleBlog" such as some co-op campaign and Multiplayer details. So instead of being lazy and having you run over to the website yourselves, which you should do anyways, I'm going to do my job. Now I did not know about this "BattleBlog" until a couple days ago, so hopefully I'm not too far behind. Multiplayer Goodies! Read More...

WarCorner: Blizzard Announces Vanity Pet Murkablo
by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 26th of August 2011 - 05:43 PM ]
Blizzcon is less than two months away and Blizzard has just announced that players who attend Blizzcon '11 on October 21st and 22nd at the Anaheim convention or those that pay $40 for the Pay Per View virtual ticket, will get the highly anticipated vanity pet Murkablo. It's like having a little Diablo in your Warcraft. Although this is not the first Diablo vanity pet found in World of Warcraft, as Mini-Tyrael was the pet given out at Blizzard's Worldwide Invitational back in 2008, it's still very exciting. We saw some brief video of this little fire breather back in June when a few data mining sites pulled him from the "depths of hell" and gave us a short preview. Read More...

Want To See What Was Shown For Star Trek At E3?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 23rd of August 2011 - 10:59 PM ]
So back in June we got to look at Star Trek from Paramount and Digital Extremes. It was overly impressive but it was also something that was behind some extremely closed door. In fact what we saw is still not out for the public yet to its full extent. This is sad for all those Trekkies out there and hardcore Sci-Fi gamers out there. Well here is the good news for you. Below is a short clip showcasing all the awards that Star Trek received even though it was so closely guarded. Read More...

Borderlands 2 Is Getting Chilly Too
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 18th of August 2011 - 06:31 PM ]
Living in Vegas it is rare that we get to see snow. I'm talking real heavy snow. I personally hate the stuff but I do love the temperature that comes along side with snow. I do enjoy going outside on a nice brisk day where I can still wear short sleeves and not freeze my balls off. Much like the poster boy for Borderlands 2 as you will see below. Like how I brought that around? From Gamescom, 2K and Gearbox have given us some more to look at for the game. Read More...

QuakeCon '11 Incoming
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 3rd of August 2011 - 04:19 PM ]
Let's start with "What is QuakeCon?", or as it has been known since 1996, the Woodstock of PC/LAN gaming. Hands down, one of the largest LAN parties of our generation. A celebration of all things Quake-oriented and bringing LAN gamers together onto one giant network. A gaming marathon that one will never forget from August 4th to 7th. Although, with so many gamers in a single location, and hosted by some of the biggest names in the business, (id Software, Bethesda, Insomniac, and Respawn) were bound to get some great news out of this event. Also a very interesting note, this event is 100% FREE to players! Read More...
