Dead Island Shows How Team Work Is Golden During Zompocalypse
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 9th of August 2011 - 09:56 PM ]
When choosing one's zombie team, you generally want to have a good group whom you know will watch your back and not hesitate to kill a zombie. There is no room for cry baby whiners who will end up killing you and the group down the line. It is just good tactics for survival. It would seem very amateurish if you didn't know that rule when it comes to surviving the zombie plague be it urban or not. So what is the big news here as it clearly isn't just a lesson on surviving Zompocalypse? Well Dead Island has officially gone gold so we can expect it to keep the September 6th launch date. Borderlands 2 Announced And Playable
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 4th of August 2011 - 05:30 PM ]
As has come to be the case lately, Borderlands 2 has been announced using Game Informer. The case I'm talking about is that 2K Games sent out no official press release and just used the magazine to spread the word. So everyone out there who doesn't have a subscription and/or doesn't want to pick up the magazine is SOL. You could also be like myself and still have yet to receive your copy in the mail. Either way it leaves us all searching the web for any kind of details. Read More...

Dead Island Is Making Curb-Stomping A Good Thing
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 2nd of August 2011 - 08:50 PM ]
It should be well known by now that each of the four playable characters in Dead Island has a finishing move for the undead when they are brought to their knees. The undead, not the character. Most of these moves include a stomp to the head or some other way of putting the final nail in the coffin for the undead. The below screen shots should be a good example of what I am talking about if you are still in the dark. Now for my extra two cents. Read More...

Mortal Kombat No Longer The Dream You Want
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 27th of July 2011 - 10:26 PM ]
So this threw me for kind of a loop at Comic Con. The fourth, and possibly final, DLC character announced for Mortal Kombat is Freddy Krueger. Not the rumored Green Lantern or some other comic super hero but the master of nightmares. Not to mention the most recent incarnation of him with a few tweaks to make him a realistic fighter for the game. That means that they needed to glove each hand instead of just the one. Below you can view the new game play trailer for Mr. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 27th of July 2011 - 05:35 PM ]
While it was not playable, at least to non-developers, Darksiders II came with the full force of Death at this year's SD Comic Con. Puns always intended here. What did we get to see for the game? We some of the new weapons, game play and a small bit of the story that we will get to play through come next year. Also, if you look below, some amazing art and visuals for the game. Let me break down what I saw and a bit of extra info about it. Read More...

Review: Captain America: Super Soldier
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 19th of July 2011 - 09:41 PM ]
Just as other reviews recently, it is time yet again to take a look at another video game based on a Big Budget film. This time it is Captain America: Super Soldier based around the hero and forthcoming film of similar, but not exact title. Could this just be more slop like the Spider Man 3 game or can it actual surpass and be something worth your time? Let's take a look at how Cap' shapes up. The Story Intelligence has gotten back to the Allies that some of the allies to the Axis powers have been forging new technology that rivals that of Stark Industries during WWII. Read More...

Waterworks In The New Mortal Kombat DLC
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 18th of July 2011 - 03:55 PM ]
The guys over at NetherRealm Studios have released a few trailers for their newest Mortal Kombat DLC character Rain. The trailers show off some of his back story, which is quite nice. Seems that after being orphaned from Shao-Khan's merciless army, the resistance adopted him and made him into a very powerful but arrogant warrior. After being denied a command position in the resistance he betrayed them and joined his mortal enemy, Shao-Khan. The trailers also shows off some very brutal combos and attacks that we can expect to dish out and sorely take to the face a couple dozen times. Read More...

Hear ye! Hear ye! Rapture is upon us and it closer than most of you might think. It wasn't back in May. Nor is it in October this year. I am prognosticating that it will be here in a matter of days. In fact I am prognosticating that it will be here on July the nineteenth two thousand eleven (7/19/11). Then again it isn't much of foretelling of the future as that is the release date of the novel based around the BioShock universe is slated to hit selves. BioShock: Rapture is a book written by John Shirley. Read More...

Batman Really Taking On Jigsaw In Arkham City Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 13th of July 2011 - 10:30 PM ]
I do love the new direction that RockSteady has taken The Riddler, my second favorite villain, but I can't seem to look past the close similarities in the characters. They are both geniuses. They both like putting people in death traps. They both have a specific tone and method to their speaking. I guess the only real difference is that the new Riddler does it to prove to the world that he really is the smartest person alive. Anyways, if you haven't picked up on it yet, or skipped to the video, there is a new clip showcasing some of the personality behind The Riddle of Batman: Arkham City. There are no spoilers at all, unless the few words and phrases said would somehow ruin the experience, so don't worry about that. Read More...

Gears Of War 3 Leaked Online?!?
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 6th of July 2011 - 05:59 PM ]
Epic games are pissed and they are out for blood. I'm sorry if you leaked out one of my most anticipated games for 2011 I would be pretty ticked off myself. Two months before release videos on youtube.com for Gears Of War 3 are popping up all over the place. Not only that, the videos are of the full single player campaign and some of the multiplayer options. This is very reminiscent of the Crysis 2 PC leak that happened not too long ago. Before you get all mad and upset about not getting a chance to play, you'd need a JTAG XBox 360. Read More...

Review: Transformers: Dark Of The Moon
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 5th of July 2011 - 11:07 PM ]
As I am sure you undoubtedly know, the new Transformers film is in theaters. This also means that the new game based on the film, Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, has hit shelves to try and draw more money out of our pockets due to nostalgia. Yep, here is yet another film based game. Another chance for a game company to rush something out just to catch a few extra bucks from the hype. Let's see how this fairs against all of the other film based shit games out there. The Story After the events of the last film, the Autobots have taken it upon themselves to help the human race by performing secret missions to keep the peace of the world. Read More...

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Looks Amazing Even Without The Dress Sphere
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 30th of June 2011 - 04:21 PM ]
I swear that Square Enix has sold their souls to someone other than me. When it comes to making games look amazing, they are by far one of the leaders in video game visuals. Almost to the point it has to be supernatural. Try and name one of their Final Fantasy titles that did not look cutting edge for the time. I find that a difficult task, so I'll move on. If you have not skipped on to see the new screen shots yet, I thank you. Read More...
