Find Your Fortune In Uncharted 2
by Kevin [ Sunday, 11th of October 2009 - 04:14 PM ]
The general consensus of Uncharted 2 is that it's going to be an extraordinary experience with a level of polish that is going to blow us all away. Honestly, I would have been satisfied if they just gave a straight sequel with none of these bells and whistles that they are offering with this sequel - I just enjoyed it that much. Thankfully, no one over at Naughty Dog listened to me and not only are they about to drop one of the most anticipated titles of the year, they are getting together with Sony to award some Fortune Hunter Editions of the game to some lucky gamers (as if we really needed additional reasons to play the demo). For those not in the know, included in this package is the game, exact in-game replica of the Phurba Dagger Artifact and stand, Collectible Art Book and Collector case autographed by Naughty Dog, and a bunch of DLC. OnLive Will Live
by Kevin [ Thursday, 1st of October 2009 - 04:40 PM ]
With the beta testing of this game-on-demand service launching not too long ago, it seems that OnLive has picked up even more steam and, perhaps, more ammunition against naysayers. Investors have gathered around the service and now include: AT&T Media Holdings, Lauder Partners and Maverick Capitol. These investors joined the ranks of other such partners as Warner Bros., who believe there may be a future in this. Yesterday a release from the CEO, via the official site, sounded as enthusiastic as ever: "Big news today — OnLive has closed a major round of funding with participation from AT&T Media Holdings, Inc. Alpha Protocol Delayed... Again
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 29th of September 2009 - 09:46 PM ]
Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, God of War III, Gran Turismo 5, Final Fantasy XIII, a pretty good list huh, a developer would be ecstatic to have their game listed among those games. So that's exactly what Sega did with their Action-Stealth RPG Alpha Protocol. The developer recently pushed the game back into 2010, which puts in on a list with all the aforementioned games. With all the delays this year we wonder if even Assassin's Creed 2 will make the list. While it's not known why Sega pushed the game back, we can consider that it may be something big because it is being slated with a nine month delay. Read More...

Torchlight - The Vanquisher Trailer
by Brian Bentley [ Saturday, 19th of September 2009 - 06:29 AM ]
Runic Games and their publishing partner, Perfect World Entertainment, released a trailer this week demonstrating the power and grace of the third and final class, The Vanquisher. For those of you that have followed Aggrogamer since E3, we've been big fans of Torchlight and I believe this trailer is a great example of what this title can bring you. This woman is part soldier, part ninja and all explosive. Mainly a ranged weapons user, she can fire on one target, use a spread to hit many or use the environment, bouncing off walls or going around corners. Read More...

Do Aggregator Sites Really Work?
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 14th of September 2009 - 04:44 PM ]
With the proliferation of the Internet, becoming a “published” writer is easier than it has ever been in the history of the world. Blogs, social networks and other various tools give just about anyone the ability to give their voice a platform to be heard. This is especially evident in “games journalism.” Hundreds of sites, including this one, vying for visitors and page views, are publishing everything from news to editorials to reviews. Doing whatever it takes to establish a reader base and either “be discovered” or turn the site from a hobby into a job. Read More...

Review: Darkest of Days
by Binh Nguyen [ Tuesday, 8th of September 2009 - 07:54 PM ]
Time travel is the one thing that we all wish we had in today's world. It would be easy to travel back in time and change a few of the mistakes we have made. Sadly, it is only a reality in movies and video games. While this ability is not totally unfettered in Phantom EFX's newest First Person Shooter, Darkest of Days, you do get to travel back in time and see some of history's more iconic eras and famous battles. The difference between this and other time travel games is that you actually have the opportunity to change the outcome of some of these events and battles. The Characters: You used to be Alex Morris, a recently transferred solider under the command of General Custer. Read More...

PAX 2009 Impression: Torchlight
by Binh Nguyen [ Sunday, 6th of September 2009 - 02:30 AM ]
On October 27th 2009, Runic Games will be releasing an Action Role Playing Game called Torchlight.  Action RPG huh, so you mean like Diablo? Yes, just like Diablo. It’s not as dark, nor as scary as Diablo, but the feel and the controls of the game would make it Diablo-ish.  But they aren’t stopping there. Runic Games is planning on making the game into a MMO, a FREE to play MMO, but will not be available until sometime in the future. They will probably be like Blizzard and they will release it when it’s done, and not rush its release. Read More...

Climax Action Comes to the Tokyo Game Show
by Kevin [ Friday, 4th of September 2009 - 05:10 PM ]
The more I hear and read about Bayonetta, the more I can appreciate the game for what it is - or what it potentially will be. You've heard how the protagonist essentially becomes more and more naked with different attacks, and how her hair transforms into weapons, and how the game contains "Torture Combos", "Witch Time", and "Non-Stop Climax Action". However, what you don't know is that I actually met with Sega for a game similar in both tone and style which I dubbed Thana-Nude the Pistolista. My game, which contained "Hot Sticky Combination Attacks", "Uncomfortable Whimpering Time", as well as "Parent Angering Immoral Fatal Thrust Strikes", focused on Thana-Nude - a 'death fairy ronin' who fell from the sky after the great seperation of the Lost Tombs of Zeebs in the Seventh Ascenion. Join The Dark Side
by Corey Dockendorf [ Saturday, 29th of August 2009 - 09:25 PM ]
Well here it is folks, one of the two classes we have all been waiting for, The Sith Warrior. This class looks amazing. Being able to wear large, heavy, technological army is a Darth Vader fan's dream come true. This looks like it's going to be a tank type class for SWTOR. But with such fast and furious sword play, who knows? The force powers look like tons of fun. I highly recommend checking out the videos This announcement is released after a week of speculation that this would be the next class in the roster of characters posted to the Holonet. Read More...
