Review: Star Pod
by Dakota B. Johnson [ Tuesday, 22nd of April 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
We Sit Down And Review Star Pod a challenging HTML5 Game from Playdor. Star Pod is a game by Playdor. It is a simple, yet challenging HTML5 game made in Construct 2 whose first ten levels have been released. The game is only available in a pre-release version. From what I have gathered you control a small UFO that must navigate the 2D levels collecting little gold rings. Starting from one platform and finishing on another. As with any game the first few levels are pretty easy. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 22nd of April 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
BioWare's upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition is slated for October 7th and has a new gameplay trailer. The time has come and now we have a release date for Dragon Age: Inquisition to look forward to. That date is now October 7th on the main current gen and next gen consoles as well as PC for any of those who play games on their major tech devices. I don't know who would ever play Dragon Age: Inquisition on their PC instead of using it for curing cancer am I right? No one would ever do that… Not only do we get the release date for Dragon Age: Inquisition here but a good chunk of gameplay to pine over with a mix of story included too. Read More...

Why I Am Not Excited About Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
by Dakota B. Johnson [ Tuesday, 22nd of April 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Am I the only one who is disappointed by the new Borderlands game announcement? I have been a fan of Borderlands since its release day. I have played both games on all three platforms. Each time the game looks the best to me on the PC. Contrary to the evidence, I am not a PC elitist. The game just seems to pop a little better when ran at max settings on a PC. That is why when I heard that we were getting a new Borderlands game I was a happy camper. Then I read that it was going to be built on the same engine as Borderlands 2. Read More...

Rumor Mill: Resident Evil 7 May Be Announced At E3 2014
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 21st of April 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
An article on a prominent Japanese economic newspaper suggests that we should see a Resident Evil 7 announcement at E3. Yet another item I want to mark under extremely hopeful; Resident Evil 7 could be officially announced as soon as this June. You can read that as "At E3 2014" if the current rumors end up being true and not just economical speculation. It would seem that a Japanese newspaper has made just that speculation for us to sit and pine over. This is all based on the mention of a next-gen console and the popularity of the Resident Evil franchise. Read More...

We Are Getting A Watch_Dogs 'Sequel' Already…In eBook Form
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 21st of April 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
Ubisoft has announced an eBook sequel story to the events of Watch_Dogs slated to come out around the game's launch. Watch_Dogs is still about a month out from launch and there is already a talk about a sequel to the game's story. This isn't another quick turnaround for another game in the new franchise but an eBook titled Watch_Dogs //n/Dark Clouds. Kind of an interesting way to go about it there but it does fit into Ubisoft's want for all IPs to be able to have a franchise built around it. From what has been stated so far don't expect it to be just a continuation of the story in Watch_Dogs the game but a whole new story in the same universe written by John Shirley. Read More...

Here Is A Nice Long Look At H1Z1, The Zombie MMO From SOE
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 21st of April 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Recently two of the developers for H1Z1 took us through a play through of an early build of the game. Just in case you do not have all the time in the world to dedicate to seeing all of the videos and streams for H1Z1 we have a nice long one for you to see below. Jimmy Whisenhunt (Game Designer) and Tom Schenck (Technical Director) sat down and played a nice 50 minute session of H1Z1 on Twitch recently to show off what the game will have to offer. At least in the form of the "higher action" of the game and not the hours of scavenging that will be needed to survive in the world. As should be warned this is a pretty early build of H1Z1 but there is a good look at the mix of first person and third person action. Read More...

Batman: Arkham Knight Gets A Bunch Of New-ish Screen Shots
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 18th of April 2014 - 07:01 PM ]
Another wave of in-game screen shots for Batman: Arkham Knight have hit the web. Some old, but mostly new. I think the headline here kind of says it all about this new batch of Batman: Arkham Knight screen shots. We have quite a few new visuals for the game and some old sans the watermarks that were forced due to Warner Bros. giving other sites 'exclusive' content. That is me just harshing on the "mainstream" media though so I'll get back to what you came here for; the awesome new screen shots for Batman: Arkham Knight. Read More...

New Screen Shots For The Evil Within Shows Us Water Monsters
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 17th of April 2014 - 10:00 PM ]
A few new screen shots for The Evil Within have popped up on the internet. This time showing off a new monster type. We may not have more news for The Evil Within but we do have a few new screen shots for the game. I wish I had more given all of the bad "previews" that have been abound the internet from the other sites that require payment to give good news; but I don't. Instead just these four new shots that kind of show off a bit of the atmosphere and enemies in the game. At least both are perceived to be enemies and there is nothing more than the huge fanged monster roaring Sebastian and the other is Boxman. Read More...

Creating The Authentic Alien Universe For Alien Isolation
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 17th of April 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
A new developer diary for Alien Isolation has been released showing the care in creating the 70's Sci-Fi in a modern age. Let's mark this new developer diary for Alien Isolation a step in the right direction. At least in my book. Sega and Creative Assembly have just released a new dev diary showcasing how they are trying to stay true to the original limitations that the Alien films had for Alien Isolation. It is always funny to look back at older films and see how under advanced the future is supposed to be due to the real world tech at the times. For instance, Alien is supposed to be set around 2119 yet there are no crazy holograms or AR displays due to the limitations of the tech in the 70's. Read More...

PC Gaming On A Budget? Let Me Help You Build That
by Dakota B. Johnson [ Wednesday, 16th of April 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Let us answer the age old question of how to build a gaming PC on a budget. For many people the thought of a gaming PC might seem pricey but most people don’t realize that depending on the budget anyone can have a Gaming PC. In fact some PC builders challenge themselves to make a PC for under $100. Two phrases I use when it comes to PCs’ are “Over time you can always get better for less” and ”You get what you pay for”. The second phrase is to remind people a $300 PC is not going to run a game like Battlefield 4 at 150 fps on max settings. Read More...
