38 Studios Acquires Big Huge Games
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 27th of May 2009 - 09:48 PM ]
Today it was announced that 38 Studios acquired Big Huge Games.  38 Studios is the studio that was started by now-retired professional baseball player Curt Schilling who is also an admitted World of Warcraft addict.  Founding 38 Studios to create an “Online Entertainment Experience,” Schilling and his team have been working on this new fantasy MMOG, currently entitled Copernicus, since 2006. I know at this point you’re rolling your eyes at another fantasy MMORPG, and frankly, I don’t blame you.  Instead let’s look at how Schilling, a World Series Champion and fairly well-known and popular person in the US, bought into the industry to bring a quality product for the masses to enjoy. Midway to Sell Flagship Franchise, Studios
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 25th of May 2009 - 07:27 PM ]
Last Thursday’s announcement that Midway Games, of Mortal Kombat fame, will be selling off its Mortal Kombat franchise along with its Chicago and Seattle studios is not shocking.  We have watched this proud company take its lumps this past year with threats of closing or being bought, having its debt purchased and ultimately filing for bankruptcy.  Having grown up in Chicago, Midway Games was always a steady force in the Windy City just off of California Ave.  I even applied and interviewed for a job there once upon a time. Ghostly Multiplayer Madness
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 13th of May 2009 - 11:04 PM ]
Ghostbusters Game Trailer It makes total sense for this game to have a multiplayer aspect to it. Albeit, limited to four people multiplayer, but multiplayer none the less. What fun would it be if you could only have one of the Busters active by a player at a time? Especially with the others possibly being run by an AI that could be poor. Don't need another Sheva incident, if you know what I mean. The below video shows off all the fun madness of the multiplayer, as well as some of the new weapons and enemies for the Ghostbusters world. Read More...

Crime Will P4y
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 11th of May 2009 - 06:02 PM ]
Thief 4 Officially Announced This little tid bit of news comes in two fun flavors. One fore gamers and the other for those in the industry looking for a job. It was teased and rumored no more than a week ago that Eidos-Montréal was going to be bringing us all another round of sneaking around with the much anticipated Thief 4. So far as that many outlets were trying hard to find anything that would give this away before any kind of meeting at E3. One of such ways that things have been leaked has been though other game companies posting jobs on their boards only to specify a title or aspect of a title they originally didn't want to. 4Chan Eroge Title Katawa Shoujo Releases Demo
by Michael Camacho [ Sunday, 3rd of May 2009 - 10:04 PM ]
A group of 4Chan /a/ regulars have decided to step away from posting memes and get into Eroge/Hentai game creation. It began in 2007 when an anonymous posting of Doujin work by Raita focusing on character designs for a dating sim revolving around Crippled characters. The lightbulb went off and the small group banded together to bring that idea to reality. Once a dedicated team was fully assembled, they created Four Leaf Studios and began their work. Here is the official description of the game: Katawa Shoujo is a bishoujo-style visual novel set in the fictional Yamaku High School for disabled children, located somewhere in modern Japan. Harvest Or Adopt?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 23rd of April 2009 - 04:49 PM ]
More Screens For Bioshock 2 To be honest, I wish there was more to talk about when it comes to this upcoming sequel for Bioshock. I really do, but they are keeping things a little close to the chest. Including showing a fake level that won't make it into the game just to show off the visuals of the game. But you know what, does it matter? We have new views of this game. Read More...

How Do You Like Her New Uniform?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of April 2009 - 11:03 PM ]
Villains in Batman Arkham Asylum What kind of Batman game would the new Arkham Asylum be if it only had the main baddy of the Joker and a slew of crazed "escaped" patients for Batman to wade through? Well a short type of game really. There are only so many regular patients for you to incapacitate before you got your hands around the killing jokester. Or just very repetitive. Which is why we can rest assured that this one will be a very interesting and fun game, as here are two more of the named baddies you will have to face off on. Read More...
