WoW! Achievements!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 18th of July 2008 - 10:06 PM ]
The Achievements Window Ok, so the title wasn't as awesome as I would have liked, but I'm running off no sleep from watching Dark Knight last night and working today. Hence why I haven't been my normal reporty self. But that's not what you clicked in for. It would seem that the rumors from before about achievements with the new expansion for World of Warcraft are true. There is a new achievement setup that is also coming with the Death Knights. Things like "50 Quests Completed" and making it to "Level 10" will get you some of the achievements for the game. Read More...

New COD4 Game Modes?
by Robert [ Wednesday, 16th of July 2008 - 08:50 PM ]
402 announced a few days ago that this weekend IW will be testing out new game modes... none of them are very creative like 402 was hinting towards.   Bare-Bones Team Deathmatch No more excuses. No more blaming Martyrdom or Juggernaut for your lack of skills and kills. Bare Bones Team Deathmatch eliminates the excuses and takes it back to basics with standard Team Deathmatch with no perks, no kill streak rewards. Just you, your skill, and your weapons.   It has potential, a lot of people complain about perks (fucking juggernaught). Read More...

Netflix comes to the Xbox 360
by Andy [ Monday, 14th of July 2008 - 06:48 PM ]
Today at E3, Microsoft has finally announced the partnership with Netflix. You may ask what this means. Well what this means is that now you will be able to stream movies from Netflix right to your TV through the Xbox 360. Now the best part about this, is that it costs you nothing if you already have a Netflix account. Why this is great? This means no more DVDs in the mail, and that also means you dont have to return the DVDs just to get your new movies. Read More...

Blizzard Authenticator SOLD OUT
by Robert [ Saturday, 5th of July 2008 - 06:56 PM ]
Blizzard announced that they would be selling a Blizzard Authenticator a few weeks ago; the Blizzard Authenticator is a small device that is attached to a keychain that has a small display that will generate a 6 digit number once you press a button on it, this number changes every minute. The number is a 1 time password and cannot be reused so key loggers are useless because of it. Despite some controversy of players crying out that they shouldn't have to pay for extra security, the Authenticators sold out immediately. Your account still has the same log-in and password, but without the 6 digit number that follows, a hacker cannot get into your account. Read More...

Diablo III Announced!
by Robert [ Saturday, 28th of June 2008 - 09:56 PM ]
After a 7 year wait from the last Diablo, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, Diablo 3 was announced today at Blizzards Worldwide Invitational. Hope for another Diablo 3 release was squashed repeatedly when Blizzard North, responsible for the Diablo franchise, lost top developers on June 30, 2003, and again on August 1, 2005 when Blizzard Entertainment announced the closure of Blizzard North. Subtle hints have kept the hope of Diablo fans alive; on Oct 23, 2006 Richard A. Knaak, a novel writer for the Diablo series, told BlizzPlanet "I ain’t writing for a dead game. Read More...

By The Gods
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 24th of June 2008 - 06:06 PM ]
Kratos Is Back: God of War 3 To Be Shown At E3 Ok, so the title may be a little misleading, but that was lifted straight from the english source for this tid bit. It was originally posted on a French site, before you ask. But I guess, Sony either let slip or something at the Interactive & Digital Entertainment Festival that GoW III (that's God of War not Gears of War) will be at this years E3. If this is true, then the release date that Game Stop has been teasing could actually be about right. Depending on what they are going to be showing off at E3, if they do at all. Read More...

Limbo of the Lost
by Nicki [ Sunday, 22nd of June 2008 - 03:04 PM ]
If you have yet to hear about Limbo of the Lost, chances are you've been living under a rock for the past month or so. This game is one of the most lulz-worthy thing I've seen in a very long time. From the horrible CGI models, to the fact that almost everything in the game has been plagiarized... it's hard not to find yourself giggling at the sheer STUPIDITY of it all. Someone put the two ending videos of this game on YouTube yesterday, so I thought I'd post them here to share with all of you.       Limbo of the Lost - Ending 1 Limbo of the Lost - Ending 2   If you are interested in reading more about LotL, visit these following Kotaku articles: Cheeky Pc Adventure Game Accused of Grand Theft Assets, LotL creators made it themselves, So what else did LotL steal from? Never Cease To Amaze Me
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 18th of June 2008 - 05:35 PM ]
Wii Balance Board Controls WoW I figured it was only a matter of time before it happened, so here it is. The Balance Board has been "hacked" to be used to control World of Warcraft movement. Yes, you read that right. Below is the video that shows it in the works. It starts out with a bit of Google Earth footage, but then they show a gnome running around the game. The movement and camera seem to be all controlled pretty well too. Now what does this mean? Read More...

A NEW WORLD RECORD!
by Stephanie Naboshek [ Tuesday, 3rd of June 2008 - 05:40 AM ]
This last weekend, I joined my fellow A-KON 19 goers in a gathering of monsterous proportions. After 3 long hours of waiting, dehydration, an upset firemarshal and plently of waiting in line, 669* of us broke the record, "MOST PEOPLE DRESSED AS VIDEOGAME CHARACTERS IN ONE GATHERING". Now although the number was only 669*, I can assure you that the total number of people qualified at the con was in the 1,000s.I was proud to be amongst the many who went through an afternoon of choas to get the job done. Congratulations to everyone out there who participated!! Read More...

Age of Conan rise to number 1 on the charts
by Andy [ Monday, 2nd of June 2008 - 07:13 PM ]
Funcom is proud to announce that Age of Conan rises to number 1 on the PC charts, and the game even competes very well on the all-format lists. The normal edition is now sold out in many outlets due to the initial success of the game, and Funcom aims to resupply new boxes as fast as possible. With more than half a million customers, Age of Conan is already one of the biggest ever western MMO games, and this happens just a week after launch. In Germany, Age of Conan is #1 on all-format and PC, while the console-orientated UK market has Conan as #2 on the all-format charts, only beaten by the GTA 4 juggernaut. The game is the biggest launch for a PC title this year in the UK with a firm # 1 placement on the PC charts, and the game had the biggest ever MMO launch - outside of the World of Warcraft franchise.
