Activision Gets pwned By WSJ
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 29th of May 2008 - 04:34 PM ]
Video: Guitar Hero IV Demo I was perusing Kotaku.com and stumbled across this little gem. I almost busted a gut when I watched the stuff leading up to the actual demo of the game. One quote in particular. I'll wait until after you watch the video before I slap it out for you. It is awesome. Here's the Video.     Ok, now that you've had a chance to watch the video, or at least I am making the assumption. Did you catch the quote, "This is the first time you will be able to play all the instruments," said by the Activision CEO Robert Kotick. Read More...

PC Street Fighter IV
by Aaron BlueWolf72 Molloy [ Wednesday, 28th of May 2008 - 11:21 PM ]
Next Generation reports Street Fighter IV for the PC is in the works, in spite of the PC not being considered the ideal platform for fighting games. They say the game will be released "this fiscal year," for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Street Fighter Website has a countdown timer, which reads two day and fifteen plus hours at this point, so it's possible that another revelation related to the franchise will be made before the end of this week. Ikki Tousen EF Coming to Japanese PSPs This Fall
by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 27th of May 2008 - 06:34 PM ]
This Fall, October 2nd 2008 to be exact, anime and manga fans of Ikki Tousen (Battle Vixens in the U.S.) can beat-'em-up on the go.  Ikki Tousen: Eloquent Fist, or EF, for short will make it's debut on the Sony PSP as a side scrolling 2D Action/Beat-'Em-Up game.  The anime best known as fan service due to it's featuring of girls battling out in dresses and short skirts, as well as featuring many ecchi moments such as clothing being literally ripped to shreds and gratuitous panty shots. The game will feature animation sequences reproduced from the CD and look very well done on the PSP's small screen.  And yes, just like in the anime and manga series, the game features a Costume Destruction System, so as more damage is taken, the less clothes the character will have. [RUMOR] That I Hope Is True
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 27th of May 2008 - 04:16 PM ]
Resident Evil 5 Now Due Out In November? So first thing I find when I get back from a fun filled 3 day weekend is some great news. That it looks like Resident Evil 5 will be out for this holiday season. Well before the big on and after the appropriate one. Christmas and Halloween respectfully. Much better than the March of '09 release that was originally slapped on this title. Now why would this be the case? On the official Resident Evil Website a weird count down has been placed on the front end of the site. Read More...

by Aaron BlueWolf72 Molloy [ Thursday, 22nd of May 2008 - 05:57 PM ]
Variety has news that Castlevania & Pac-Man are set in stone to be made as "movies" for you and me to see while sucking down a drink and popcorn.  Will the movies suck is a big question many will have.  "Castlevania," a co-production with Universal's Rogue Pictures. Project, based on the Konami vidgame, is written by Paul Anderson ("Resident Evil") and directed by Sylvain White ("Stomp the Yard").  Other titles in the Grosvenor Park-funded slate include an adaptation of Richard Branson's memoir "Losing My Virginity," a bigscreen adaptation of vidgame "Pac-Man" and a sequel to John Woo's actioner "Hard Boiled"; company also controls the rights to Brad Thor's bestselling novels. Relationship between violent videogames and real-life aggression
by Aaron BlueWolf72 Molloy [ Wednesday, 21st of May 2008 - 05:15 AM ]
A new study seems to show that there is no relationship between violent videogames and real-life aggression. From ScienceDaily: Writing May 14 in the International Journal of Liability and Scientific Enquiry, Patrick Kierkegaard of the University of Essex, England, suggests that there is scant scientific evidence that video games are anything but harmless and that they do not lead to real world aggression. Moreover, his research shows that previous work is biased towards the opposite conclusion. Read More...

Mythic Videos
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 16th of May 2008 - 03:59 PM ]
Rise of the Argonauts So I swear I heard about this over a year ago. I could be wrong. Or I could be right. In either instance, this game looks like it could be epic. Pun intended as always. This game is suppose to be a pretty close telling of the Greek Legends of yore, with a little new world twist to get a broader audience than freaks like me who are all about the Greek stories. Not too sure why they are making a god, Pan, into a lowly mortal magician. There could be more going on, but from has been released here, it doesn't look that way. Read More...

Metal Gear Mania
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 13th of May 2008 - 06:05 PM ]
Metal Gear Mania The Metal Gear Craze Is Going On Konami seems to be revving up the hype for this game much like Rock star did for the latest GTA. Trailers and ads galore. Some of which kind of cool. This first little set of videos is a bunch of ads. Everything from, what I assume is, an energy drink ad all the way to a trailer complete with the guy who has been smoking way too many cigarettes doing a voice over. That would be the first one. It was awesome. Read More...

180-degree field of vision for gaming
by Aaron BlueWolf72 Molloy [ Monday, 12th of May 2008 - 07:51 PM ]
The jDome Website is home to this project that creates a monitor view with an immersive 180-degree field of vision for gaming, using a pretty simple patented approach that only costs a couple of hundred dollars to construct. There's a video with the inventor showing off a prototype of the project on Gizomdo, where they comment on it's potential to induce headaches. The inventor is looking to generate a community around this project to help take it to the point where it can be put into production. Read More...
