PS3 Slim Rumored to Debut in Europe Aug 18th
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 11th of August 2009 - 03:00 AM ]
The PS3 Slim is a reality, and it's getting closer and closer to happening, at least according to the latest rumors. Gamescom is taking place later this month, and Sony will hold its conference on August 18th, which is when the PS3 Slim is rumored to be debuted. The rumored release date is September 2nd, but the more important thing, is that the price is allegedly going to be €299.99, which depending on what country you get it in, is €50-€100 less than the current 80gb model. Whether the North American or Japanese release date/price would be announced as well is remain to be seen, however making an announcement for only the European region seems odd. Read More...

Time To Travel Back Into Time
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 10th of August 2009 - 10:23 PM ]
From the articles I have written or hearing me on the Aggrocast, you probably know I'm excited for a little title called Darkest of Days. Well today independent game developer, 8monkey Labs, and Phantom EFX, a leading developer and publisher of entertainment software, has announced today that on August 11th 2009 a demo of Darkest of Days will be available on the PC. Aaron Schurman, Chief Executive Officer at Phantom EFX had this to say: "Custer's infamous last stand at the Battle of Little Big Horn, and the Battle of Antietam, the bloodiest day in American history… these are just a few of humanity’s darkest days, and you can dive into both of these in the Darkest of Days demo. This hour-long demo lets players experience unrivaled carnage and to experience what it’s like to use futuristic weapons in period settings and see what happens when you alter history while fighting against hundreds of enemies during some of man's greatest struggles in History! Review: Rock Band: Country Pack
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 10th of August 2009 - 12:28 AM ]
Rock Band: Country Pack Rock Band is well known for the DLC updates they do every week. Very well known, for it. But one thing that the franchise is not well known for is having a good selection of music that falls in line with the controls and set up. In this case I am talking Country. A genre that isn't normally popular amongst the more hardcore gamers and fans of rhythm games. Well that was up until just recently with the expansion to Rock Band with the Country Pack. I use the word expansion here because this is really what the whole pack is. Read More...

Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 3 Makes a Splash
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 6th of August 2009 - 09:14 PM ]
With the third map pack for Call of Duty: World at War dropping today on the PSN and XBox Live Marketplace today, I think it's about time console shooter fans finally cut Treyarch some slack. They have really supported the crap out of this game during the post-release lifecycle, this time with multiplayer maps, a zombie map and new achievements/trophies. After selling over 11 million copies of the game and over 4 million downloads, they could very easily just sit on their laurels and rake the cash in. Instead, they are continuing their support of this game with another release of new content. Read More...

Snow White Vs Little Red Riding Hood
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 5th of August 2009 - 09:25 PM ]
Snow White Vs Little Red Riding Hood Fairytale Fights Trailer Just when you thought your fairy tales were safe, and little more had been pumped out for the game, Playlogic starts the teasing. Teasing with a nice little showing of the two cute girls wandering about the fantasy lands. That is until Red breaks out the chainsaw and White gets wicked with an axe. Then it is kind of hard to see how Snow White stays as white as her name would imply. You know blood stains everything. Read More...

Use Your Skillz To Pay Da Billz
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 30th of July 2009 - 03:27 PM ]
Video game site lets players bet on their skills Looks like there is a new site for gamers to literally put their money where their mouth is. Well more literal that the phase is commonly used. Who'd want to put all that dirty cash in their mouths? Sure I hope none of those Halo fanboys/fangirls. I do hope. It was just announced that a new site, BringIt.com, is about to come out of beta and allow for gamers to compete against each other for more than just their pride, but their cold hard cash. Comic Con '09 Hands-On Impressions of Brütal Legend
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 28th of July 2009 - 01:39 AM ]
Brütal Legend Take Two As you may have known if you follow Corey or myself on Twitter at all, you would have seen how mush the PR train was rolling at Comic Con this year. It was Huge! But it wasn't just about the free stuff they were giving out or events they were putting on. They also had an updated version of the demo for this game. They also had the game on a few more platforms for us all to take in. Not to mention the fact that they had more kiosks to play on, thus shorter lines and waiting than at E3. Read More...

Comic Con '09 Hands-On Impressions of Dante's Inferno
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 27th of July 2009 - 09:47 PM ]
Dante's Inferno So at E3 this year, we were all given some great teases as to what to expect for Dante's Inferno from EA. All in the form of an extended trailer and a little bit of watching the designers play through a level showing off their game. No solid hands on experience, but it was still a great sight to see. But it did leave me wanting more to really get a feel for the game. Something EA was obviously waiting to let people do at Comic Con. Read More...

Gaming As A Sport Further Legitimized
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of July 2009 - 10:58 PM ]
Pro gamers' league signs big deal with Electronic Arts Another blow to your mom's nagging about how video games will never get you any where just flew onto the scene. EA and Major League Gaming have just penned and signed a new deal hooking up EA as a major sponsor for their gaming tournaments. Something that will totally draw more than their average 600,000 people they get now and 5000 to 7000 that show to the live events. Not to mention to bring some big pull with EA Sports and other franchises under their belt now being added to the list of titles to be played for cash and prizes. With the first major event starting at the end of next month. Read More...

Movie Games Gone Wild
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of July 2009 - 05:44 PM ]
WARNER BROS. INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT AND LEGENDARY PICTURES PRESENT WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE Seems like a late announcement, but it was one that could easily be figured to have been made. Since most films nowadays get their own video game either based off or completely on the film in question. Why would there be any difference for Warner Bros. Where The Wild Things Are? So far they have yet to miss a game based on their films this year. Read More...

Dead Space, inFAMOUS, and [Prototype] are just to name a few. Not even going to go into the number of anime style games that have their likenesses in comic mode. *Cough* Final Fantasy. Read More...
