Kingsmouth And The Secret World
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 25th of January 2010 - 08:02 PM ]
It has been a bit since we have had any good and fun news about Funcom's upcoming MMO The Secret World. Am I right or am I right? We are still waiting for the continuation of those cool and creepy videos they were pumping out over last Summer, but it doesn't look like that is coming just yet. But instead, it looks like they are starting another viral marketing scheme to get people interested. Marketing by, you guessed it, a "secret" website based on one of the game's cities and battle locations. Or at least how it is before the crap hits the fan. Read More...

An InFamous Uncharted Killzone Resistance Among Thieves
by Kevin [ Monday, 25th of January 2010 - 04:28 PM ]
Looks like Naughty Dog is serious about bringing some eye-opening DLC to their blockbuster title, Uncharted 2. On the 28th of this month there is going to be an overflow of new skins to adorn your multiplayer experience. As Naughty Dog proclaimed over at the Playstation Blog, "Thanks to our friends at Guerilla Games, Insomniac Games and Sucker Punch Productions, we’ve been able to a pull off something unique within the UNCHARTED 2 competitive multiplayer modes – our first DLC release is the UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves PlayStation Heroes Skin Pack. The PlayStation Heroes Skin Pack contains seven new skins featuring some key personalities from other major PlayStation first-party titles – Sev and a Helghast soldier from Killzone 2, Nathan Hale and a Chimera from Resistance 2, and Cole (both good and evil variants!) and Zeke from inFAMOUS. Sword & Poker: The .99 Cent iPhone Battery Killer
by Kevin [ Sunday, 24th of January 2010 - 08:03 PM ]
I've come across a multitude of titles in the App Store that attempt to bridge the gap between two gaming genres. There have been varying degrees of success for most of these games, but every now and again there's a title that not only dares to get the formula right - but sees fit to destroy the battery in my phone (which, admittedly, with an iPhone isn't too terribly difficult). In this case the game in question is "Sword&Poker" - and yes it is exactly what it sounds like.In the world of Sword & Poker, the always dreaded Lord of Chaos has snagged the equally ominous Stone of Creation and has formed a intricate dungeon to protect his dark intent. The Heritage Of Aliens Vs. Predator
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 23rd of January 2010 - 12:12 AM ]
Now this is what I was hoping for when Sega let loose the Kill Video for Aliens Vs. Predator. At least as it goes for graphics and action. Although it could just be that they are comparing the new game to the original that came out about ten years ago. But in either instance, here is a much better look at Aliens Vs. Predator. Also, unlike the last AvP video, this one isn't just a quick montage of images and scenes. Read More...

The Launch Of Mass Effect 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 22nd of January 2010 - 12:29 AM ]
So the launch of Mass Effect 2 is only a few days away now. So how does BioWare and EA want you to get excited for it? Well in the epic movie trailer type of way. At least this is how it seems from the new trailer for the game that was just unleashed on the gaming community. Man is it an epic video too. Honestly my words won't be able to describe the clip as well as just watching it. But if you still have yet to skip past my words to the video, let me sum it up. Read More...

Yes you read the headline correctly, Final Fantasy I and II are both coming to the iPhone! With the movement for Mobile devices becoming a gaming force to be reckoned with, we are seeing the larger games quickly making their way into our hot little hands. Square Enix announced on it's Facebook page as well as on Twitter that it would be releasing the first two Final Fantasy titles for the iPhone and iPod Touch. There are practically no details regarding the game, but all we know so far is it's "Coming Soon" but with the below screen shots, it doesn't look like we are too far off. You can head on over to the actual mini-site to listen to the soothing music and stare at the iPhone screen, or just check out the screen shots below. Read More...

The Makings Of A God Of War III
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 21st of January 2010 - 05:36 PM ]
Now that the HD video is starting to circulate amongst news sites, we are able to show off some of the video. Well not the video per say, but stills from the video showing off some more of the combat coming to us soon for God of War III. Also a little bit of some of the other weapons and levels we have to look forward to this coming March. Like the below big stone guy with giant mallet to boot. Or what looks to be a shipping yard full of crates. Read More...

Rock Band Network Up And Running
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 21st of January 2010 - 02:17 PM ]
Just as promised, the Rock Band Network is up and running starting now. That's right, get ready for the flood of unknown musicians of every genre to start flowing on your XBox Live stores and shortly after on the PSN. Shortly meaning about a month later after getting the XBox exclusive treatment and testing out of the way. But that's neither here nor there for the actual news here. The big thing her is that now for the low cost of about $100 dollars, any musician can record and publish their own tracks to the Rock Band Store. Read More...

Sony Motion Controler Delayed... Big Surprise...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 20th of January 2010 - 05:13 PM ]
That's right. Get ready for that surprise. Just announced, Sony is pushing the launch of the new motion controllers back to this Fall instead of in the next few months as they stated at E3 2009. Not to big of a surprise as it was still in very early tech demo stage no more than a half a year ago. Even though according to the below press release, it isn't for development issues on the hardware side. But more along the lines of not having a large list of titles ready to go for the launch of the new controllers. I'm not to sure if I buy that, but at least it is a good excuse to wait on launching new controllers that will require a $40 camera as well as how ever much it will cost to buy them. Read More...

ESPN Coming To XBox 360
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 20th of January 2010 - 02:28 AM ]
With all the consoles (finally) starting to stream digital media, either from Netflix, or from online stores, it seems that the only natural progression would be to start showing live TV shows/sporting events. ESPN were in talks with Microsoft in a very "private" meeting, about the possibility to stream sporting events live on the XBox 360. Of course fee's would be involved but now your average gamer, on any given sunday, could sit at home and switch back and forth from Madden '10 to whatever football game was on. For a per-subscriber fee, ESPN could provide live streams of sporting events, similar to the ones available through ESPN 360, a service that is available from some high-speed Internet providers. There Will Be Blood This Wednesday
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 19th of January 2010 - 10:38 PM ]
No, unfortunately, this does not mean that Daniel Day Lewis will be abandoning his child (abandoning his boy), and being a gracious oilman on our next generation consoles. Nay, this deals with the blood that will be spilled via two downloadable titles coming this Wednesday on XBox Live and PSN. Death by Cube (800 ($10)) is a little gem by Square Enix with a story that suggests a sweet abundance of man's most precious videogame resource, violence, "Leo is a robot, one who awakes to find that he has lost his memory. All he knows is that he must reboot the heroine robot, so he sets forth on a mission hoping to regain his memory. To his surprise, he finds the world is now filled with battalions of enemy robots, drenched in bright red oil, and shooting bullets every direction. Read More...

Aliens and Predators Show Off Their Killing Moves
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 19th of January 2010 - 05:19 PM ]
As is to be expected, there are a myriad of ways to kill each other in Sega and Rebellion's upcoming Aliens Vs. Predator. How many, well that number has yet to be counted, but from the below video you can get a small idea. Small, just for the fact that it is a quick minute montage of killing scenes from the game. From all creatures point of view. Yes humans are included in the "creatures" of the game. Read More...

The Blood And Metal Of God Of War III
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 19th of January 2010 - 02:26 PM ]
It is a well known fact that in God of War III you will be taking on huge bosses and traversing large environments that are literally the titans themselves that are suppose to be helping Kratos in the upcoming finale to the God of War storyline. If you had no clue of this, go back to Utah because that is apparently where you are from. Either that or read a bit more on this epic game. For all of you out there that know what the fuck I am talking about, you have been waiting to see what some of the levels will look like. Read More...
