The Best DRM I've Ever Seen
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 7th of December 2011 - 10:26 PM ]
In the world of Digital Rights Management (DRM) there have been a lot of cruel and unusual punishments for those who dare pirate video games; even punishment for paying customers because of some random glitch or what not. So in my travels around the internet I've stumbled upon what could be the greatest DRM scheme ever: An Immortal, Insanely fast pink scorpion. That's right. For those who pirate Croteam's Serious Sam 3: BFE, they will find themselves, from the opening of the game, fighting off an immortal pink scorpion that does not stop attacking until you die. The endless hours of mind numbing fun? Or maybe I should start with an anecdote? Yeah let's start off with a quick little anecdote. Alright, let's go back in time ten years. Fan Made BioShock Movie Teaser
by Matt Waitt [ Friday, 2nd of December 2011 - 05:29 PM ]
In my long and weary travels through the harsh and sometimes beautiful lands of the internet, I have come across a video on YouTube by the username of "TheBioshockMovie" which only has one upload which was about a week ago. The upload is titled "BioShock Movie (2013) - Trailer". While it's more of a teaser, this fan-made video has definitely impressed me. The teaser starts off with some junk on a beach as the camera pans to the right we see a wallet, a shoe and then a man. A man who just happens to be holding a Big Daddy doll, then a sharp cut to a real life big daddy, a man screaming and what seems to be the man holding the doll getting swept away from a surge of water. Gearbox Making A Borderlands 2 Cosplayer's Dream A Reality
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 1st of December 2011 - 05:45 PM ]
Hey you! Yes you. Let me get personal for a second. You happen to be between 18 and 30? Are you Y chromosome deficient; or possibly tried cutting that day Y off? You got a way to make it to Dallas, TX? If you can answer yes to all of those, I got someone down there who want to check you out. Not only check you out, but pay you to look at your face and take a lot of photos to be used in all different forms of media. I'm talking film, photograph, magazine, website and even video game. Yea, the above sounds like a weird Craigslist ad that would most likely end in you being raped and killed. Read More...

Zachary Levi To Host Video Game Awards
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 30th of November 2011 - 10:29 PM ]
Today it was announced that Zachary Levi will be hosting the 2011 Video Game Awards on Spike TV. Before you click away from this article and roll your eyes, let's take a look at the VGAs and this press release in particular before you pre-judge the fledgling award show. I decided to do this analysis in hopes that Spike TV is trying to legitimize the show and the process. First off, Zachary Levi is a nice, safe choice for host. He's moderately popular with the mainstream (Chuck, Tangled) and he has geek cred (Halo voiceover and Internet presence). Read More...

by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 22nd of November 2011 - 05:37 PM ]
Since last week's installment of Trailer Park was non-existent, I believe you guys are overdue for a new set of trailers. First up we have a new trailer for EA's SSX coming out on February 14th, 2012. The trailer shows off a lot of game play footage that looks just as insane and hilarious as previous installments, Doing the "Worm" on a snowboard and twirling around like a helicopter are just a couple of the nut job tricks showcased in the trailer. If you plan on pre-ordering SSX then I have some great news for you - pre-order bonuses! If you pre-order from Origin you will get Elise's "elite" snowboard along with a "bonus" boost. Read More...

Well, it's that time of year again. Leaves are falling. It's getting colder. And like clockwork, a new Call Of Duty has hit the streets. Not that I should really have to say it, but that would be Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for those who didn't see the title or clicked in at random. That also means it is time for us to review this little title and see if it should be a game you add to your home collection. The Story Everything picks back up right after Modern Warfare 2. Yea, I'll admit that sounds a lot like Shark Week on the Discovery channel, but damn it, Funcom wants to get some more info about The Secret World out to all of you. I am just trying to help them in this task. TSW does look like it can end up being one of the coolest MMO's out there. At least when it finally launches. Below you can peruse some new screen shots and concept art for the game and one of the three factions players will get to be part of. As you should have already guessed this week's faction is the Templars. Read More...
