This Week In Video Games 2/9/15 — 2/13/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 14th of February 2015 - 12:00 AM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games Way to wrap a week in video games on a high not right? With Valentine's Day tomorrow I was expecting things to be very slow and filled with the normal PR bullshit that game developers and publishers send out. You know those little images and quick videos to show how much they supposedly care outside of just wanting our money. 2K was doing is all week for Borderlands. Instead of just all of that though we ended with a nice new Valentine's Day trailer for Until Dawn and some cool Mortal Kombat news. Read More...

Have A Good Look At Bloodborne's Gorgeous, Gothic Environments
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of February 2015 - 06:00 PM ]
A new look at Bloodborne's environments has been showcased and it really highlights the creepy, gothic setting Bloodborne will have If there has been one thing that has impressed me for Bloodborne it has to be the setting and environment for the game. I am a sucker for creepy, Gothic settings and there is no doubt that From Software is bringing the 'A' game for Bloodborne in that aspect. Even when I have had shoddy hands-on experiences with the game this has been one thing that has kept me wandering around and searching every nook and cranny of the levels so I can get the full appreciation for Bloodborne. If you have yet to experience anything for Bloodborne outside of the previous trailers and gameplay videos then rest assured that just below we have a nice showcasing for all of the environments and world I've been gabbing on about. Have A Peek At Bloodborne's Customization Options
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 4th of February 2015 - 08:01 PM ]
We have a new look at all of the options we are going to have when it comes to our characters in Bloodborne…and a bunch of new gameplay If you are looking to have your own special snowflake when it comes to Bloodborne it looks like you are going to be in luck. From Software has added in a whole mess of options into the game to customize your character however you want and they were so nice to give an exclusive look of all of that. At least an exclusive look for all of that to IGN so they could take us all through a quick minute version of all of the option Bloodborne will have to make you all nice and special. Hopefully so you don't look like any other character when you finally log in with you PS4 and play the game. Read More...

Time To Spoil The First Bit Of Life Is Strange
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 27th of January 2015 - 10:00 PM ]
What looks to be the first 20 minutes of Life Is Strange has been released online so we can all get basic judgments out of the way Life Is Strange is only a few days out from launch so it isn't too strange that there is already gameplay footage for the game floating out there. Seeing as Square Enix and Dontnod haven't busted their asses to have it taken down from YouTube yet I think they are fairly okay with the fact that the first 22 minutes of the game can be viewed now. Just in case 22 minutes of Life Is Strange isn't enough and all. More than that would just be downright ludicrous and would require the whole servers to be taken down so as to not ruin any part of the game, or at least the first episode, before January 30th. Life Is Strange Shows A Better Butterfly Effect
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 23rd of January 2015 - 10:01 PM ]
The second developer diary for Life Is Strange is out and shows off Max's rewind ability we will use in the game Life Is Strange is not too far off from having its first episode hit our homes. I feel like I have said that a lot this week. One of the things that I know I've been curious on for the game has been the rewind mechanic that we will all get to employ in the game. This is kind of one of the core things and builds off one of the best mechanics in Dontnod's previous title Remember Me. It was used to remix memories there and in Life Is Strange it looks like it is there to help us remix and alter the timeline. Read More...

A Better Look At The Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Chicken Hat
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 9th of January 2015 - 06:00 PM ]
We have some official screenshots and details for that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain chicken hat that was all the rage Back around Christmas the hopefuls for a Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain release date were trolled and shown a new hat that can be used in the game. The chicken hat for those who don't want to go back and read. Some though this was still a joke that Hideo Kojima was running on everyone but it looks like Konami and Kojima Productions have confirmed the hat more so by giving us all some nice new screenshots and a better description of how the hat will be used once we actually get the game. Hopefully this year some time but that is still a great mystery to be solved for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and that may take a lot longer than solving P. Read More...

Play As Hideo Kojima In Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 2nd of January 2015 - 08:00 PM ]
PC Modders have made it so you can play as Hideo Kojima in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes' core gameplay as well as the side missions available I knew it would only be a matter of time before Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes on the PC received it first fun mod for the game. In this instance it looks like you can now play all of Ground Zeroes as the mastermind behind the whole thing: Hideo Kojima. If you don't know who that is then why are you even reading this text? He happens to be the creator of the franchise as well as notorious troll for fans of all of his games. Read More...

Being Chicken In Metal Gear Solid V Can Be A Bonus In Disguise
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of December 2014 - 10:01 PM ]
Over the Christmas holiday it was announced that there will be a chicken hat addition to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain to make the game easier for those having trouble If you are a huge fan of Metal Gear Solid and looking forward to Metal Gear Solid V then you were probably one of those people who sat around with Hideo Kojima on Christmas day while he opened presents, talked films, and then trolled everyone looking for a release date for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. To be fair, you all should have been having a good time with your families instead of watching someone who's culture doesn't celebrate the holiday do what he does best. That would be giving you just a little bit of something new so you don't loathe him but not really give you a thing you really want. Read More...

Telltale Is Working On Minecraft: Story Mode Now?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 18th of December 2014 - 08:00 PM ]
Telltale and Mojang tried to hide a Minecraft: Story Mode announcement in a game but it looks like we are getting it Hey look, just what all those Minecraft players want; a story mode. No? Well Telltale and Mojang are now officially working on Minecraft: Story Mode just for all of you out there who truly want some kind of story behind all of the mindless hours of tree punching. My whole experience with Minecraft should be obviously only based on what was shown on South Park so I have no clue if there is more to the game than that. All I know is that there is no Minecraft 2 announcement but a Minecraft: Story Mode announcement here. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 17th of December 2014 - 06:00 PM ]
Life Is Strange's release date, pricing structure, and first real trailer for the game have been released from DontNod and Square Enix Life Is Strange. Not just the name of the game but in reality Life Is Strange. Like for the fact that I had heard the name of game tossed around so often but no one would give any real details or talk about it. At least to me directly. Now we have the first real trailer for the game as well as all the ins and outs on how it is being released on January 30th 2015 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. We Had A Quiet God Of War Announcement Happen Recently
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 11th of December 2014 - 08:00 PM ]
During the God Of War retrospective panel at the PlayStation Experience Cory Barlog let loose that a new title was in the works, only very quietly Looks like there is a new God Of War title in the works according to Cory Barlog. During the PlayStation Experience there was a nifty panel that took place in the form of a God Of War retrospective. Pretty much it was a celebration and fun event for all fans of the franchise to relive the fun and talk to some of the minds behind the famed franchise. I unfortunately missed out on it while I was previewing the father of God Of War's new IP Drawn To Death. Read More...

PlayStation Experience Hands On — Bloodborne
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 11th of December 2014 - 06:00 PM ]
While At The PlayStation Experience I Was Able To See Bloodborne In A More Intimate Setting Than Just A Trailer. I Gave The Game A Go Via Two Different Hunters To Make Sure I Didn't Miss Anything… Up until the PlayStation Experience my time with Bloodborne has been only in the way of trailers or watching one of the developers try to show off the game. If you've been following my drivel since Bloodborne was announced then you will know that I have been nothing but unenthused about the game. That is why I decided to give it the old college try and see if this PS4 exclusive was going to be able to capture my love with actual hands on. Read More...

PlayStation Experience Hands On — Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 9th of December 2014 - 10:00 PM ]
While At The PlayStation Experience I Was Able To Check Out Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes; An Interesting Bomb Disposal Title Coming For The Project Morpheus Project Morpheus was on the show floor for the PlayStation Experience. It had a bunch of different tech demos and early games to help show off how cool the tech could be but one game that got a lot more buzz than anything was Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes. Given the demand of the Morpheus at the PSX the line was doubly huge for Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes but I had a chance to sit down and give this cool bomb disposal virtual reality title a few play throughs. Most were on beginner but I did get a chance to play the higher difficulty. Read More...
