X-Men Origins: Wolverine
by Kevin [ Monday, 2nd of February 2009 - 02:32 PM ]
Most licensed games that stem from movies have a history of well, being garbage, or at the very least having very few redeeming qualities. A lot of people attribute this to rushed development cycles to tie in with the film's release. It will no doubt be a great representation of the character, but with the previous Wolverine centered game, X2: Wolverine's Revenge getting somewhat a luke warm response, will people be ready to accept a new form of Logan - that's another movie tie-in?The official site: http://www. The First Black Video Game Character
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 20th of January 2009 - 02:53 PM ]
So over at Vintage Computing and Gaming they discuss, what could possibly be, the first video game character of color."Tomorrow, the United States will inaugurate its first black president, Barack Obama. In honor of this watershed moment in American history, I thought we should pay tribute to another African-American trailblazer: the first black video game character. After exhaustive research, I believe I’ve found him.Thirty years ago (1979), the first obviously black video game character appeared in Basketball, programmed by Alan Miller for the Atari 800 home computer. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 16th of January 2009 - 10:29 PM ]
Online gamers in China must soon register with real names Before you think that we have it bad when it comes to privacy, take a look at things like this and think longer. It looks like the Chinese government is going to force gamers in the area to register with their real names. Not bad. But they must also provide their government issued code, think social security number for those in the states. All of this just to prove who you are and so you can play. Now here is the good question, why are they doing this? Read More...

The Real World Of Gaming
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 15th of January 2009 - 05:55 PM ]
WCG's The Ultimate Gamer You may have heard of this, but you also may not have. What is it, well like the header alludes to, it is a new reality TV show on Sci Fi showing who is the ultimate gamer out of a selection of 12 professional, and extremely good gamers. Yes, I know it sounds odd at first, but let me explain, or at least watch the trailer below, or check out their site. See, not only do they take real gamers, people you might have actually played against at some point, but they also test them to see if they can do these virtual skills in the real world as well. Not to mention if they can handle the gaming side under different and unusual circumstances. Read More...
