A while back, I posted about a Gears of War 2 patch coming later this month. Now it turns out that coming along with the patch are seven new achievements. Online gamers in China must soon register with real names Before you think that we have it bad when it comes to privacy, take a look at things like this and think longer. It looks like the Chinese government is going to force gamers in the area to register with their real names. Not bad. But they must also provide their government issued code, think social security number for those in the states. All of this just to prove who you are and so you can play. WCG's The Ultimate Gamer You may have heard of this, but you also may not have. What is it, well like the header alludes to, it is a new reality TV show on Sci Fi showing who is the ultimate gamer out of a selection of 12 professional, and extremely good gamers. See, not only do they take real gamers, people you might have actually played against at some point, but they also test them to see if they can do these virtual skills in the real world as well. Well it turns out that you will be able to rock hard while playing Guitar Hero: Metallica In Europe this coming May. This was confirmed by Activision after GameStop boasted that the game will be released in the US on the 29th of March.The Metallica spin off  follows the Aerosmith version, and will bring with them full drum/guitar/microphone Guitar Hero World Tour kit support plus brand nw sounds for the GHTunes recording studio. Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekidou, an upcoming japanese title on the Nintendo Wii, has released its latest trailer featuring Aya Hirano. The game features a dancing mode, which Aya shows off in this trailer, and the moves you make with the Wiimote simulate those of the actual dancing. For those who may not know, the game is based off of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Aya Hirano is the actual voice actress of Haruhi in Japan. The dance featured is also from hare Hare Yukai, which is the ending theme for the anime. The game is currently set for release in Japan, January 22nd 2009. Read More...

Hideo Kojima said to wait a few more weeks for a public announcement on a upcoming Metal Gear project. But scans from Famitsu pretty much spoiled it. Metal Gear is coming to the Iphone. Konami have also given us some details on the game. It's an original title in the MGS4 world with 8 stages with more to be made soon and obviously controlled by the touchpad. Throughout the gameplay you will receive bonus points witch will allow you unlock some neat stuff such as MGS wallpaper. The game is due for a world wide release in Spring 2009. Read More...

Give a video game franchise enough time and eventually it stops being about attracting new fans and the focus switches to catering to the hardcore fanbase. It happened to the Dynasty Warriors series, it happened to pretty much any EA Sports series, and it happened to Armored Core. So with the release of Armored Core For Answer, the thirteenth game in the series, it’s no surprise that even with Ubisoft taking over as publishers, developers From Software have stuck with the two basic elements of an Armored Core game. Fast and crazy action and a ton of customization. As a result, it pretty much means that if you’re a fan, you’ll still like this game even if you did buy Armored Core 4 sometime over the course of the last twelve months. Read More...

By that I mean that I watch the flash videos every now and then and am not so entrenched into the whole Strong Bad world or Strongbaddia world if you will. The last time we saw a James Bond video game that tied into a movie was the release of The World is Not Enough in November of 2000 and it wasn’t so hot. Since then there have been a handful of very good games based on original Bond stories and then of course there was an adaptation of From Russia with Love which once again fell a little short of expectations. But now Bond is going through a reboot phase in the movies, and with the license switching hands from EA to Activision, the latest Bond game Quantum of Solace, has gone through some similar changes.
