by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 15th of January 2010 - 06:00 PM ]
I've bet you been wondering the same thing since hearing about this game haven't you? Haven't you? You have heard about this twisted teddy bear game right? Looks kind of like Fairy Tale Fights with a bit of upgraded 3D graphics and just the same amount of cuddly, twisted humor. You know. Naughty Bear! Well if you haven't, then here's a link for you. It will tell you how the game seems like a mixture of Manhunt and cuddly bears all wrapped into one awesome game. Read More...

CES 2010: BioShock 2 Multiplayer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 14th of January 2010 - 12:08 AM ]
At this year's CES in Las Vegas, NV there was loads to show off in terms of hardware. At least as gaming consoles and gaming computers go. But what about some of the software that was shown for all of us gamers? Like a real hands on with the multiplayer of BioShock 2. Not just spiffy videos. Well this was one of the games that was being showcased for all who attended and found there way out to the IGN and Sprint trucks hidden in front of the convention. Let me start off, as I usually do when it comes to multiplayer, not a big fan of it. In fact with this title, I was loathing the fact it was having multiplayer added as it generally ruins the single player game. Read More...

Tom Clancy & Friends On Demand
by Kevin [ Wednesday, 13th of January 2010 - 05:13 PM ]
It looks like the two games next up for the Games on Demand treatment are, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 and Kane&Lynch: Dead Men. I find it funny that with both game descriptions they more or less end with "no refunds are available for this item." It adds a deeper level to the game description for some reason. Try and read them in the same way you would the game description, envision the music for each. It's epic isn't it? Read More...

CES 2010 Impression: Psyko 5.1
by Binh Nguyen [ Saturday, 9th of January 2010 - 07:11 PM ]
Psyko Audio may not be the first to release a 5.1 headset and they certainly will not be the last, but Psyko 5.1 was named one of the CES best of 2009. Does this new headset deserve such a title? Well I decided to give them a visit while I am here at CES 2010 and see how well the headphones are shaping up. I met up with James Hildebrandt, CEO and Head of Psyko Audio, and he gave me the rundown on the headset.  The first thing he had me do was listen to some music from the Blue Men Group for a full two minutes as he pointed out where the music was coming from the headset indicator. CES 2010: nVidia Press Conference
by Binh Nguyen [ Saturday, 9th of January 2010 - 05:02 AM ]
As CES 2010 is now under way, so are the many news and notes that are coming out of the convention. The first event that Brian and I went to was the nVidia Press Conference. As we went to sit down we were given 3D glasses for a part of the conference. As the wait finally ended and the music started to kick into high gear, so did the montage that nVidia put together. The montage began with video games and movies but wasn't in 3D yet. After the montage was over, the President of nVidia, Jen-Hsun Huang came out and talked about not only the evolution of desktop PC (personal computers) but also the evolution of portable PC in general. Dark Void Demo Impressions
by Kevin [ Thursday, 7th of January 2010 - 01:24 PM ]
The sci-fi action-adventure Dark Void demo has dropped today for the Xbox 360 and will be following on the PSN tomorrow. With the demo you get the chance to take that jetpack for a spin, and engage in some aerial and on-foot combat. It is supposed to serve to wet the appetite for the games' January 19th release date. With some unique gameplay elements like vertical cover, I've been looking forward to taking this title for a test drive. The press release speaks with some glowing words of course, "With the launch of Capcom’s sci-fi shooter, Dark Void, right around the corner, Capcom is giving gamers a chance to test drive the void for themselves this week with a downloadable demo coming to Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network. Holiday Gaming Memories
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 29th of December 2009 - 08:50 PM ]
Now that Christmas has come and gone, we reflect on the joys of the holiday and the time we now have to enjoy the fruits of commercialism. Pull up a chair, and grab your favorite console, and take a listen - it's story time. There was a time before Halo, before Uncharted, a time of purity. An age of gaming declared glorious in its simplicity. It was dubbed 8-bit. It was pure pixeled perfection, and it was a time of punishing difficulty, limited continues, and precision timing. Steam Achievements Added to Torchlight
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 23rd of December 2009 - 04:35 PM ]
We, as humans, are a competitive, goal-oriented species.  The category of humans known as gamers are characteristically more so.  So when little goals outside of the main game play were created on platforms this console generation (Achievements on Xbox 360 and Steam, trophies on the PS3), gamers took to them with a ferocity only matched by the public's outrage to the release of Coke 2.  The obsession with achievements has grown to the point that people will go out of their way to grind away for hours, simply to have the tiny extrinsic award.  As a bit of an afterthought and most likely a reward to the fans, last week Runic Games released over 60 achievements that may be earned on Steam for their critically acclaimed action-RPG Torchlight. Nintendo and Xbox want to Monitor your health
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 22nd of December 2009 - 03:14 AM ]
Ever wonder what it would be like to hook yourself up to your Xbox or Nintendo Wii and have it monitor certain vitality signs, use the data to change your avatar accordingly, or tell you what your feeling during certain points of a video game. Imagine status updates but from your internal Biology, take that Facebook!Microsoft recently patented tracking of players physical characteristics and converting that information to reflect on your avatar.  Of course a third party device would have to be created first, but Microsoft would pick up all the info and beam it into your Xbox Live account, making your Avatar look more like you. Aggro Attractions: Games Coming Soon
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 15th of December 2009 - 04:10 PM ]
A lot of people were disappointed by the recent Video Game Awards held on Spike TV, and in most cases the disappointment is very much deserved. Although the award ceremony was filled with professionals and had some fantastic exclusives to premier, it still comes off as very much forced and not at all exciting. Fortunately, for the gaming audience there were some great trailers shown. As Binh said in a great article that covered the results of the show, the true stars were the trailers. Read More...

Dante's Inferno Is Taking The PS3 To Hell Early
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 11th of December 2009 - 03:42 AM ]
So in a time where exclusives can greatly help a console system, as long as the game is going to be a big one, it looks as if Sony just landed themselves half a big fish. A fish that is showing up on the XBox and the PSP as well. But it looks like the best version of Dante's Inferno, the game I'm talking about, is going to be on the PS3 and only the PS3. The next best part, FOR NO ADDITIONAL COST TO US GAMERS. Yea you read that, now love it. Read More...

Q&A with Vigil Games on Darksiders
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 10th of December 2009 - 02:50 PM ]
Only weeks away from the highly anticipated launch, Darksiders is a post-apocalyptic action-adventure that puts you in the shoes of one of the famed Four Horsemen.  Light and fluffy, I know, but after a couple years since its announcement, Vigil Games has positioned themselves and the game in a very advantageous position in the dawn of the upcoming year.  Also not hurting is the fact that the game looks to be shaping up like it's going to blow your mind.Haydn Dalton, lead designer of the game at Vigil, took a few moments to answer some of the burning questions surrounding the game. Chuck Brings the Pain to Your Mobile Device: Review
by Kevin [ Thursday, 10th of December 2009 - 05:07 AM ]
One of the few game developers that has never ceased to amaze me is Gameloft. I don't know what their development philosophy is, but it has consistently led to some great gaming experiences on mobile devices. To be perfectly honest, Chuck Norris: Bring On The Pain continues in that trend, turning the worn jokes concerning our favorite Texas Ranger into a pretty entertaining game.Over at the official site, Gameloft gives some insight as to what you are in for: "Step into the boots of America’s toughest man in the first Chuck Norris game available for your iPhone and iPod touch. A brilliantly outlandish scenario sets you, Chuck Norris, in the Cambodian jungle to release prisoners of war held hostage by a rogue army of Communist soldiers. Read More...
