Harbingers Are Coming To World Of Warcraft's New Expansion
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 12th of July 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
World Of Warcraft As we get ready for the next World Of Warcraft expansion it looks like we are getting some new World Of Warcraft animated shorts to help us along There is still over a month's wait for the next big World Of Warcraft expansion Legion and we all know that the wait is killing most of us. Thankfully as we wait for the expansion to land on August 30th Blizzard is giving us some kind of relief in terms of new animated shorts for the game's story. Kind of fitting for the sixth major expansion for World Of Warcraft and just kind of given the company's trend before and as of late. Read More...

Star Trek Online Boldly Goes Toward Consoles This Fall
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of May 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
Star Trek Long running Star Trek Online MMO is now heading to the PS4 and Xbox One so more players can experience the Star Trek free-to-play title It's only been about six months in the waiting but now it looks like Star Trek Online is making the voyage to the PS4 and Xbox One. This is something that Perfect World and Cryptic had in the cards since the consoles that could handle the game's engine popped up and we will be seeing it again this Fall. As an added bonus here too, Star Trek Online will also be keeping its Free-To-Play model during the leap so there will be no worry about having to shell out for a game here to play a massive version of "catch up." It does seem a bit odd that it took this long for Star Trek Online to try and make the jump over to the console world but given the controls and UI of the PC version I think it is safe to say that we can blame it on that. In H1Z1 You Can Either Just Survive Or Become King Of Killing
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 18th of February 2016 - 10:00 PM ]
H1Z1 H1Z1 has now been officially split into two different titles, H1Z1: Just Survive & H1Z1 King Of The Kill, but will all be taking place in the same world It's been some time since we had some coverage for H1Z1 here and it looks like we are back in with a huge one as it looks like the game has now been split into two distinct titles on the PC through Steam Early Access. In case you didn't remember H1Z1 was the zombie MMO title that was in the works by SOE who later became Daybreak Games. I guess it just runs in their path that things get split but it looks like this could lead to H1Z1 becoming the kind of game that each fan may truly be wanting. Read More...

Wander — The Non-Combat Based MMO For The PC & PS4
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of November 2014 - 10:00 PM ]
A few new details for Wander have been released for us to better understand the MMO that is all about exploration and not combat That's right we have a non-combat based MMO title coming soon called Wander. It is all about the exploration and story here and it looks like it could fill a niche that has yet to be tapped in the MMO genre. I have a feeling that you all are flipping your lids in one direction or the other here for Wander now and wondering how this will all work when it launches in March for the PC and PS4. Good thing you have me. Read More...

First Footage For Firefly Online Has Been Released
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 13th of October 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
Firefly Online finally has some gameplay footage for us to look at and judge if it will further the franchise that was killed off in its prime If you are a huge fan or Firefly then you may have already heard about Firefly Online. I've been keeping an eye on this PC, iOS and Android MMO since I first caught wind and up until now I've been a little under-impressed with what I've seen thus far. We've not had any good gameplay video and to my knowledge a rather low quality CGI trailer to try and explain what Firefly Online is all about and why the fans should be excited that it is coming. There's even a way to sign up for the Beta for the game that really doesn't give us a thing. Read More...

Traverse Into Another Sci-Fi MMO With Transverse
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 9th of September 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
A new Science Fiction MMO, Transverse, has been announced from Piranha Games, the makers of MechWarrior Online Just in time for the other Sci-Fi MMO to be released (Destiny) we have a new announcement from Piranha Games in the form of Transverse. The only difference here is that the MechWarrior Online developer aims to make Transverse a MMO from the beginning and before the nice little announcement trailer below was released. Isn't that nice and all? Making an MMO and labeling it an MMO from the beginning and not just cleverly marketing around it? Read More...

In The Wake Of World Of Darkness MMO Cancellation Comes 'Leaked' Images & Documents
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of May 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
Documents and images from the canceled World Of Darkness MMO have popped up on Reddit and we have them here. I am still taken back by the cancellation of the World Of Darkness MMO from last month. I love playing the table top and LARP versions of the game system and was feverishly looking forward to the MMO coming out and no longer requiring to have to hound a bunch of friends together to play in the world. It has been taken away from us now and there is nothing to do about but hope that someday the World Of Darkness MMO might be revisited. Until then, here is a load of 'leaked' information and images to show why the cancellation was required. Read More...

Here Is A Whole Lot More H1Z1 Gameplay To Feast Your Eyes On
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 5th of May 2014 - 09:02 PM ]
SOE recently hosted a 12-hour H1Z1 livestream event and here are some of the gameplay highlights from what was shown. Some of you may have heard about and watched the H1Z1 livestream that SOE put on last week. Some of you may have missed it. The last subgroup may have caught parts of it but were unable to dedicate the entire twelve hours to watching all of the pre-alpha gameplay and development that is going into H1Z1. Personally I fell into the last group. Fear not though, we have some of the better highlights of the stream for you to catch up and stay on par as the zombie MMO moves toward a golden status. Here Is A Nice Long Look At H1Z1, The Zombie MMO From SOE
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 21st of April 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Recently two of the developers for H1Z1 took us through a play through of an early build of the game. Just in case you do not have all the time in the world to dedicate to seeing all of the videos and streams for H1Z1 we have a nice long one for you to see below. Jimmy Whisenhunt (Game Designer) and Tom Schenck (Technical Director) sat down and played a nice 50 minute session of H1Z1 on Twitch recently to show off what the game will have to offer. At least in the form of the "higher action" of the game and not the hours of scavenging that will be needed to survive in the world. As should be warned this is a pretty early build of H1Z1 but there is a good look at the mix of first person and third person action. Read More...

No World Of Darkness MMO As Well As More Layoffs In The Industry
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 14th of April 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
CCP has just announced that the World Of Darkness MMO has been canceled. Among other things… It has been over two years now since we last heard about the World Of Darkness MMO and any updates. In fact the last time we heard about anything for this game was that it was definitely still in the works and that we should be expecting it. This straight from the Senior Producer's (Chris McDonough) mouth and in turn CCP. So it is sad news for me to talk about the latest announcement that the World Of Darkness MMO is no longer in the works and that we have yet another rash of layoffs in the gaming industry.
