Review: Call Of Duty: Black Ops
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 1st of December 2010 - 09:21 PM ]
We've been through WWII and up to Modern Warfare so now it is time to tackle two "wars" that seem to be glanced over by most FPS franchises. Yea, Call of Duty: Black Ops places us deep in the mix of the Vietnam War and the Bay Of Pigs Invasion all in another attempt to stop the Russians from destroying the U.S. This time they are trying it through chemical warfare and biological warfare. Review: DJ Hero 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 18th of November 2010 - 07:50 PM ]
Here we go with another rhythm game coming into the mix of things. Pun totally intended. The game this time is DJ Hero 2. The follow up and expansion on from last year's DJ Hero that let gamers hop into the world of "professional" DJing. Like every other title in the rhythm genre there are some new additions outside of the core track list. Some good, some not so good and some just kind of "What The F**k?" Let me break it all down for you and let you know if you should actually pick up a copy of DJ Hero 2. Read More...

Play Ring Around The Necromorph In Dead Space 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 8th of November 2010 - 10:04 PM ]
While I doubt this will be a game play mode for the upcoming Dead Space 2 multiplayer, that doesn't make the below trailer for the game any less creepy and awesome. Just about on par with the awesome "Twinkle Little Star" trailer from the first Dead Space. Which I will add, there is nothing creepier than having a three year old look at you and start singing that version at you in a cold, dark game room. Check it out. Pretty damn awesome huh? Review: Comic Jumper
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 18th of October 2010 - 10:38 PM ]
Captain Smiley's very own comic has been canceled because it, well, sucked. Lame villains, corny jokes, bad dialog and it pretty much made no sense at all. So what is an unemployed comic book hero to do? Jump into other comics as a mercenary and help solve huge issues that may be going on. All in the hopes to get enough scratch together so Captain Smiley can bring back his own book. I kid you not. Read More...

Review: Dead Rising 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 11th of October 2010 - 09:05 PM ]
The zombie outbreak has now overtaken a good portion of the world now. Cites have been destroyed, human life is now precious even more so now yet everyone with a pulse has seemed to come to terms with zompoclypse. In fact, they have come to such great terms that game shows have popped up surrounding the total destruction of all of the infected. The most popular being Terror Is Reality, which has taken up shop in the new city of Fortune City just miles outside of a destroyed Las Vegas, NV. Speaking of Las Vegas, remember the Case Zero Review? Read More...

X-Men: Destiny Revealed Somewhat
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 7th of October 2010 - 08:27 PM ]
Just in time to get fans overly excited about something at the NYCC, not that they wouldn't be in general, Activision drops the curtain and shows the world a teaser for X-Men: Destiny. Something that can be spied on at the Activision booth (#1833) for now as well as all over the internet by now, not to mention below. Looks kind of… well… it's a reveal trailer that reveals nothing. All that is know as of now is it is a game that has us the players controlling a new mutant recruit. Read More...

We Found The Best Zombie Plan
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 6th of October 2010 - 10:38 PM ]
We asked for your plans and we got a lot of submissions. Looks like all we have to do is place Contest, Prize and Zombies into an article and we get all you readers' creative juices flowing. Maybe it was just the first two, but I like to think positive when it comes to the seriousness of having a good zombie plan. In the end, the most creative and interesting was written by error_code (Rhai). I mean it was not only a "How To Survive The Initial Onslaught" type plan, but it also included the long term plan as well; including a "doomsday switch" in case the zombies somehow overrun the base of operations. Review: Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 6th of October 2010 - 04:54 PM ]
In the godly plane of rock, an epic battle rages on. A battle between the Demigod of Rock - a being of all things that are rock - and the horrid, mechanical Beast - a being of everything that apparently sucks in music. Up until now, Gene Simmons the Demigod of Rock has prevailed. That is, up until now when the Beast finally bested the Demigod and locked him away. Now it is up to the chosen eight warriors of rock to come to power and release the Demigod so he can save music from a teenie-bop-emo-crap-storm it will become. Yes, that is the shortened version of the new story mode for Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock, the recent iteration to the Guitar Hero franchise. Read More...

Review: Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 30th of September 2010 - 09:05 PM ]
Hey true believers! It looks like our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is back into the action saving not only New York, but four different dimensions worth of New York and realities. All after a small fight with Mysterio where Spider Man shatters the "Tablet of Order and Chaos," a few of the villains in each dimension find a chunk and get super-charged. With the help of Madame Web, each Spider-Man needs to collect these tablet pieces to make sure all reality doesn't crumble. You'd think a tablet with that power wouldn't be housed in a basic museum in New York, but then we wouldn't have the story. Read More...

Mini Review: Dead Rising 2: Case Zero
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 27th of September 2010 - 09:02 PM ]
On a leisurely escape from zombie-infested Las Vegas, Chuck and Katey Greene stop in the quiet town of Still Creek, just 46 miles outside of the metropolis. Katey is infected, but the constant supply of Zombrex is keeping that at bay. That is, until their car is stolen while stopping for a quick gas break. What kind of misadventures could that lead to? Not a bad set up for the prologue to Dead Rising 2, huh? Read More...

I'll Take That Jeep from Call Of Duty: Black Ops
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 20th of September 2010 - 02:07 PM ]
So, what do you get when you take a video game company and you team it up with a automotive company? You begin entertaining the possibility of a new vehicle that will come to life. Reported from G4tv.com that was released by The Wall Street Journal, that Activison will be teaming up with Chrysler to possibly release the “Hero” themed Jeep that will be in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Oh, yet another way for Activison to suck even more money out of us. This is what it said in The Wall Street Journal: “The Jeep Wrangler's Sahara model will feature a hard-top that can match the color of the vehicle's body. Read More...

Dead Space Is No Longer A Solo Horror
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 15th of September 2010 - 08:13 PM ]
Generally in a survival horror game, the protagonist is left isolated and alone for the game with only getting a few "human" interactions along the way to help drive the progression of the game. Think back and see that I am right on this. Are you done? Good. That said, doesn't this seem the age of multiplayer for multiplayer's sake lately? So it should seem no real shock that another great survival horror - in this case Dead Space 2 - has taken on the need for multiplayer. Not a first for the franchise if you think back to the Wii rail-shooter Dead Space: Extraction, but that wasn't truly a survival horror, was it? Read More...
