Harmonix has announced the full set list for the upcoming Rock Band Blitz. Rock Band Blitz is the first game to ditch the plastic instruments of past games in the series. If you don’t know what to expect from Rock Band Blitz it’s a beat matching game much like Amplitude or Audio Surf. Below is the full set list of 25 songs that will come with the game. Rock Band Blitz will also be compatible with all your DLC from past Rock Band games. If you are just interested in getting new songs for Rock Band 3, Blitz acts as a Song Pack. Read More...

Watch How Agent 47 Walked Through The Hitman: Absolution Demo
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 26th of July 2012 - 08:17 PM ]
You have to love modern tech today and social media. While we have special events that showcase video games and have 'behind doors' demos, it is only a matter of time now before all of the masses get to see what we do at events like E3. Just like Metro earlier in the week, we have a view at what I got to see for Hitman: Absolution at E3. Just in case you didn't like reading everything I had to say. Just in case you don't want to go back and read everything from before, this demo shows the Streets Of Hope and some of the new unique game play for the new Hitman. Read More...

Review: Ship Simulator Extremes
by Fred Buell [ Monday, 2nd of July 2012 - 11:15 PM ]
I started playing Ship Simulator Extremes with an open mind. Partly because I wasn't sure if this was going the pure Sim route with me only free riding a boat or the MS Flight route with a campaign and missions you can take. It took the latter with a campaign and various scenarios you can choose from the menu, alas the game is looking up, I think. I was wrong. So wrong. Read More...

Indie Game Of The Month: A Valley Without Wind
by Fred Buell [ Thursday, 28th of June 2012 - 06:33 PM ]
For all those lovers of classic action games or side scrolling RPGs; look no further than A Valley Without Wind. When I spoke with the developers from Arcen Games at PAX East last April, they had said they loved the old 2D actioners like Super Metroid, Castlevania and so on. They said the one thing they hate about those games is 'they end.' A Valley Without Wind plays just like the aforementioned games with a hint of MMO and one huge difference. It doesn’t end and the maps a randomly generated. Read More...

E3 2012 Impressions: Star Trek
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 15th of June 2012 - 11:11 PM ]
Last year we got to see a very behind closed doors presentation of the new Star Trek game. So closed doors I had to wait until an embargo lifted after E3 2011 to talk about it. This year was quite the opposite. In fact while I was leaving my appointment from seeing Borderlands 2 I took a wrong turn on the show floor and ended up walking down a corridor from the Enterprise leading into a transporter room where myself and a plethora of other fans were whisked away to see the presentation. Below you can see some of the side by side video from the presentation, but let me fill you in on what you don't get to see. First to clear up confusion on the below video, each side is done in the point of view of which ever character you would choose from the beginning. Read More...

E3 2012 Impressions: Hitman: Absolution
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 14th of June 2012 - 07:57 PM ]
Talk about a title I wish I would have had a chance to get some real hands on with at E3. Hitman: Absolution ranks right up there with Tomb Raider in level of excitement for Square Enix titles coming out. While it was on the show floor, there was not enough time in the day to play it but I did get to sit through a pretty cool demo that was geared towards showing some of the cool stuff we will get to have Agent 47 do. First and foremost I have to mention the visuals of the game. As to be expected given the six year gap between Blood Money and Absolution they have gone leaps and bounds over what we've seen in any of the previous games. Read More...

PlayStation E3 2012 Press Conference Recap
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 5th of June 2012 - 02:17 PM ]
Did you somehow miss the PlayStation/Sony Press Conference for this year's E3? With so many different ways to watch it and keep up to date, it is a little difficult to believe that could be the case. Lucky for those four or five people out there, I was on the floor watching everything live for you. Also lucky for you, I took the time to gather up a bit of the highlights of the show as well as a three part showing at the very bottom. I really am just the best, aren't I? Before I let you go on and watch things, let me recap for you to try and save you time. Read More...

Hitman: Absolution Has A Weird Twist On Ruler Wielding Nuns
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 31st of May 2012 - 11:08 PM ]
We've all seen the stereotype of Nuns with rulers to rap on your knuckles when you do something wrong. Hells, some of you probably lived through something like that in your youth. But have you ever wondered what they have to break out for those kids who are too bad ass for that to work, like say, Agent 47? Well we get that answer below in the new Hitman: Absolution trailer that you can see below. I am sure that this has some form of story importance, be it for the new title or older IPs. Read More...

How Will You Murder Humans In Hitman: Absolution?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of May 2012 - 11:23 PM ]
Kind of an odd question to be asked huh but it is pretty much the question posed to you in the most recent trailer for Hitman: Absolution that showcases the star of the franchise, Agent 47. Outside of that it also shows off a bit of game play as well as the different ways you can control the original assassin through the game. It is also full of a lot of blood and violence so send the youngin's out of the room before watching it. If you are waiting to actually watch the clip and still reading, let me break it down a bit. Review: Sniper Elite V2
by Fred Buell [ Tuesday, 1st of May 2012 - 06:15 PM ]
Rebellion Developments just gave us a "reboot" or "remake" of the 2005 shooter of the same name, Sniper Elite: V2 which takes place in the same time frame. This time rather than infiltrating the Nazi Army in disguise, you are a lone sniper against both the German and Russian WW2 militaries. Referencing the real life "Operation Paper," you must sneak behind lines and kill, or rescue, German scientists from creating and launching deadly V2 rockets. The game plays very smoothly; only on few occasions, and probably at my provoking the system, did I experience any spots of being stuck or absurd clipping. Sniper Elite plays as you would hope and expect any 3rd person shooter to play. Read More...

Star Trek Should Be The Push From 3D To Something More
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 20th of April 2012 - 06:07 PM ]
It's been about eight months since we last heard anything of substance from Digital Extreme's Star Trek. Why don't we go check in and see what is new? Or if anything, see if there is anything all that spectacularly new since the E3 demo recording. Well… Um… We have a couple new pieces of concept art and a teaser trailer for the game that shows roughly a minute of new stuff. Outside of the fact that it will be able to be played completely in stereoscopic 3D, there isn't really all that much to say or show. Everything is below. Read More...

This BioShock Infinite Heavy Hitter Is Screaming For Vengeance
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 28th of March 2012 - 09:23 PM ]
Here we go with the final "Heavy Hitter" for BioShock Infinite. Yep, the fourth and final that they are revealing as a hardcore enemy that is just below sub-boss and above mook in the game. We've gone over the Motorized Patriot, the Handyman and the Boys of Silence so far. Now we get to look at the Siren. Sounds kind of nice at first, then you find out that she essentially a healer that can resurrect all of the enemies you've already killed with but a scream. I'm not sure if this is going to be one of those creatures that inspire the panic to kill right away or just plain get annoying after killing everything in a room only to have her bring them all back. What's The Deal With Online Passes?
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 26th of March 2012 - 10:57 PM ]
Online Passes are apparently the new "Gaming Fad" even thought the majority of us gamers really dislike the over abundance of these online passes, especially when companies like EA are already starting to show some sketchy business models towards online passes. I'm going to be one-hundred percent honest: I fucking hate online passes and here are some reasons why: Online Passes are a new and "pricey" way to battle online piracy and used game sales, the latter being a joke in my opinion. A simple one use serial code that is required for access to certain online content such as Multiplayer and Co-op modes, or unlocks bonus content for a game. Although certain games such as Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and Batman: Arkham City require an online pass even though they are single player games and withhold on disc game content from the consumer if an online pass is not purchased.
