PAX East Hands On: Swimsanity
by Kenton Winkfield [ Thursday, 28th of March 2013 - 06:13 PM ]
One of the last titles I got to see at PAX East was an incredible amount fun and I'm not just saying that because I got to beat my friends down in it. Swimsanity was one of my favorite titles that I got to play at PAX East. The best part is it's not even finished yet. I got to speak with the whole team of Decoy Games, a new indie developer company that is responsible for the amazing Swimsanity and they confirmed that there will be many more features and maps besides what's been showcased at PAX East. Decoy Games is an independent gaming company started by two brothers, Ahmed and Khalil Abdullah. After exploring their passion for gaming, and finding they had an ability to create games, they began to build what they call team Decoy. Read More...

Pax East: Saints Row IV Preview
by Greg Tatterfield [ Monday, 25th of March 2013 - 06:11 PM ]
Deep Silver was at PAX East during the weekend to show off their recently purchased game Saints Row IV. Volition started the demo by explaining the games new story. Saints Row IV takes the leader of the Saints and makes him the president of the United States. But all is not well as the leader of the Saints have been captured by aliens and placed in a virtual version of Steel port. The new story direction allows Volition to make Saints Row even crazier. One of the biggest changes coming in Saints Row IV is allowing your character to use superpowers. Read More...

Let's Get To Know Elizabeth From BioShock Infinite
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 21st of March 2013 - 05:57 PM ]
With just under a week from launch it looks like it would be a good time to showcase one of the main characters from BioShock Infinite wouldn't it? Of course it is. This is why Irrational Games has released the following "dev diary" all about Elizabeth and everything that went into making her walk, talk, and not being an annoying escort mission pain in the ass. If you are trying to be a purist and have as little info about BioShock Infinite before playing the game proper, you don't have anything to worry with the following video. Unless you really care about a small scene were Elizabeth tries to get Booker to dance with her and very basic level scenes. Read More...

Pre-PAX East Speculations
by Fred Buell [ Monday, 18th of March 2013 - 11:21 PM ]
With PAX East less than a week away let's get a look at everything going down this coming weekend. Firstly, we have the recently re-announced Saints Row 4 from Volition and their new owners Deep Silver. Nothing about this game aside from the release date and a fluff trailer has been shown. What do you expect from the newest installment of the Saints franchise? Personally I expect the game to be even more insane, with hopefully a deeper customization, as I felt Saints Row III pulled back a bit from we had in Saints Row II. Also, Deep Silver is showing off the new installment of Dead Island franchise, Dead Island: Riptide. Read More...

Sim City's Downfall
by Greg Tatterfield [ Friday, 8th of March 2013 - 06:50 PM ]
EA released their new Sim City game this week to a huge fan outcry. Many gamers are dissatisfied with the always-online DRM and the poor servers. What makes matters worse is that EA is only allowing people who bought a physical copy of a game to request a refund. Unfortunately gamers who bought a digital copy of the game are out of luck. The outcry and the refund controversy have gotten so widespread that Amazon has removed Sim City from their online store. At the time of writing the game has 1,072 one star reviews on Amazon. Review: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
by Devin Ballard [ Friday, 1st of March 2013 - 10:30 PM ]
So before I get on the review, let me just say that I’m not big on fighting games. I’m more of an RPG, MMO, or FPS kind of guy. Seldom has a fighting game captured my attention and made me want to continue playing through both defeat and success, so when I say that I’m genuinely interested in PlayStation All-Stars just know that I don’t say that lightly. This is a cross-over fighting game made by SuperBot Entertainment and SCE Santa Monica Studio exclusively for the PS3. Big surprise right? Read More...

Review: Serious Sam Double D XXL
by Matt Waitt [ Friday, 22nd of February 2013 - 06:15 PM ]
Serious Sam Double D XXL is one hell of a mouthful, especially for a title of a game. But don't let the ridiculously long title discourage you from enjoying this great game. Featuring a Gunstacking ability, some awesome platforming, 2D side-scrolling action, and the comedy/humor we all know and love from the Serious Sam franchise. So let's talk about what I enjoyed about Serious Sam Double D XXL. God damn it I need to find a shorter name for that game SSDDXXL? Read More...

Aliens: Colonial Marines Quality Explained?
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 13th of February 2013 - 11:25 PM ]
An alleged employee of Gearbox Software by the username "ThrowAwayACM" has posted some very interesting stuff on Reddit in the past day. That stuff being information in regards to the poor quality of Aliens: Colonial Marines. "First off, due to me breaking NDA, I can't provide any proof that I'm not just talking out of my ass. But I figure you'd be interested in hearing what I have to say regardless. I've been on the project for around a year and a half, so some of the following are things I've heard from more senior guys. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 7th of February 2013 - 11:12 PM ]
Now that we've all hopefully had time to wrap the story heavy version of the franchise, it's time we looked at the action FPS version with The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. The Activision/Terminal Reality game coming out here in a month's time. Not much has been said or shown until now, but it is well known to be a FPS and feature the story of two of the AMC TV Show only characters. I'm talking the Dixon brothers in case you haven't been up on the details since its initial announcement. If you look below we have what is called the "Game Play" trailer for the game. Read More...

Review: Black Knight Sword
by Matt Waitt [ Friday, 21st of December 2012 - 07:35 PM ]
Where do I start with Black Knight Sword? The Monty Python inspired art style? The odd and unique story? Or how about the challenging difficulty that I thought had long since been forgotten? Yeah, let's start with how hard Black Knight Sword is. Black Knight Sword has three difficulties: Easy, Normal and Hard but it feels more like "Normal, Hard, and Good Luck." It is not the mechanics, nor the controls that makes Black Knight Sword so difficult, no, not at all. It is the strategically placed enemies, the learning curve they demand from you, and the boss fights that will eat you up and spit you out. Read More...

If you followed the link in then you already know what you are in store for. That's right a fancy-chair-sitting, slow-rowing, low action packed romp around the coast of Maine in 1912 in-game for BioShock Infinite. My words won't do it any justice here, so I'll just let you hop on down and watch. Just in case you still haven't caught on, this is the first few minutes for BioShock Infinite. So if you want to experience everything for the first time in March, you might just want to skip the video. For everyone else, there is nothing really spoiled except the first few minutes which play out similar to BioShock's opening. Read More...
