by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 23rd of November 2010 - 11:01 PM ]
Although it launched on Steam last week to a rocky start, Petroglyph games released its latest content filled Map Pack, for the tiny price tag of $12. There has been some great content added and a few items that didn't make it in. So let's take a look at what we should be thankful for in this latest content release for Guardians of Graxia. With Guardians of Graxia's Steam launch, players can pick up the original game along with the expansive map pack for under $12. This includes the %10 Steam discount. Read More...

Review: DJ Hero 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 18th of November 2010 - 07:50 PM ]
Here we go with another rhythm game coming into the mix of things. Pun totally intended. The game this time is DJ Hero 2. The follow up and expansion on from last year's DJ Hero that let gamers hop into the world of "professional" DJing. Like every other title in the rhythm genre there are some new additions outside of the core track list. Some good, some not so good and some just kind of "What The F**k?" Let me break it all down for you and let you know if you should actually pick up a copy of DJ Hero 2. Read More...

Play Ring Around The Necromorph In Dead Space 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 8th of November 2010 - 10:04 PM ]
While I doubt this will be a game play mode for the upcoming Dead Space 2 multiplayer, that doesn't make the below trailer for the game any less creepy and awesome. Just about on par with the awesome "Twinkle Little Star" trailer from the first Dead Space. Which I will add, there is nothing creepier than having a three year old look at you and start singing that version at you in a cold, dark game room. Check it out. Pretty damn awesome huh? Review: Guardians of Graxia
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 2nd of November 2010 - 11:45 PM ]
Petroglyph Games is one of those companies that you never know exactly what they're going to do next. Coming from a background of RTS video games and making a splash in the CCG/board game market, they are definitely a company to keep an eye on. With their diverse experience, Petroglyph Games have decided to take the best of both worlds and mash them together into a tiny download for about $9.99. They call it Guardians of Graxia. Review: Rock Band 3 [Gamer Version]
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 26th of October 2010 - 08:53 PM ]
So here we go again. Another rhythm game comes to the market, only this time it is one that is truly trying to innovate the genre. I am talking in more ways than just trying to add new ways to play songs in the way of four guitars or adding challenges to earn more points and "stars." Though we already knew that Rock Band 3 was adding in a new instrument and a "Learn To Play Real Instruments" mode, it's how they went about it that changes the genre. This of course makes Rock Band 3 more than just another game. Being that there is so much going on with Rock Band 3, I've decided to break it up into two reviews. Read More...

New BioShock Infinite Screens Will Pluck You Eyes Out
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 21st of October 2010 - 08:42 PM ]
Why do I have a feeling that these crows are going to play a HUGE part of BioShock Infinite? I mean we all know it looks like there will be a Plasmid based around using a murder of crows, but is there going to be more than that? There also seems to be a lack of any other bird type in any of the visuals we have been shown thus far - unless you count angels, in the form of statues, as birds. I don't. If you haven't looked down by now, then I am telling you to seize the opportunity. Read More...

In Case You Didn't Know The Story For Scorpion...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 20th of October 2010 - 08:36 PM ]
The devs working on the new rendition of Mortal Kombat have been nice enough to let us know all that is going on with Scorpion and why he is risking his unlife for revenge. Just in case we didn't get it from all the earlier titles, movies and every other Mortal Kombat based IP out there. It would seem so. In case you are a virgin to the Mortal Kombat story, have been hit in the head repeatedly, or both, let me recap. Scorpion blames Sub Zero for destroy himself and his entire clan. Read More...

Batman Teaching Lessons On Sharing In Arkham City
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 12th of October 2010 - 07:56 PM ]
Ok, well maybe not sharing as you would think. Sharing his fist in criminal's faces mainly. But with images like the one next to this line, it looks like it could be something different. At least there is the sharing in the form of some new screen shots and concept art. All of which we have listed out below for your viewing pleasure. Maybe you can learn a thing on sharing and send them off to everyone else as excited for Batman: Arkham City as we are. Looking further into these images though, it looks like there are some new "heavy" types in the game. Read More...

This Is What BioShock Infinite's Game Play Looks Like
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 22nd of September 2010 - 06:41 PM ]
The tease is finally over. Irrational Games has finally let loose the game play footage that has been seen by so few before today. Now it is open to the world in general; even though it was suppose to be only on XBox Live today and then open tomorrow. How did Irrational not think someone was going to snag the clip off their XBox to share with the rest of us fans chomping at the bit to see what new things they have come up with? Anyways, the almost ten minutes of footage looks amazing. It is hard to gauge where all of this action is taking place in the game though. Read More...

Give Indie Games Some Love
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 21st of September 2010 - 04:01 PM ]
Despite what the actual weather says or does, the summer season is about to close out for 2010. As was the case the last summer, independent developers have once again formed a coalition to digitally distribute their work to the masses in an attempt to fight hunger - most likely their own. In all seriousness, this is an excellent chance to get your hands on some fantastic indie titles and put money directly in the hands of the men and women putting their livelihoods on the line to push the envelope of innovation in gaming. You can pick up last year's six games in the Classic pack, this year's new six games in the summer pack or all twelve games in the Mega-Love Pack for $20, $20 and $30, respectively. It's only until Wednesday so get out your wallets immediately! Read More...

Dead Space Is No Longer A Solo Horror
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 15th of September 2010 - 08:13 PM ]
Generally in a survival horror game, the protagonist is left isolated and alone for the game with only getting a few "human" interactions along the way to help drive the progression of the game. Think back and see that I am right on this. Are you done? Good. That said, doesn't this seem the age of multiplayer for multiplayer's sake lately? So it should seem no real shock that another great survival horror - in this case Dead Space 2 - has taken on the need for multiplayer. Not a first for the franchise if you think back to the Wii rail-shooter Dead Space: Extraction, but that wasn't truly a survival horror, was it? Read More...

Naughty Bear Hitting The High Seas Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 13th of September 2010 - 06:10 PM ]
For a game that did not appeal to gamers en masse, Naught Bear is not holding back on the DLC they are going to be pumping out for it. 505 Games has already given out some free DLC in the way of an eighth chapter to the story of Naughty Bear. Along with that a new group of bears to try and bring Naughty down and weapons. Something that must have brought gamers back into playing the game as here comes another batch of DLC. Here comes a ninth chapter to the story of Naughty Bear and with it, the ability to take Ninjas vs. Read More...

Viva La Claptrap Revolution!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 10th of September 2010 - 07:52 PM ]
Back in early August we mentioned the new DLC for Borderlands, Claptrap New Robot Revolution. It is bring a bunch of additions to the game, as we mentioned, as well as being included in the GOTY Edition, also mentioned. So what new do we have for you? Not a solid release date, but I'm willing to bet on 9/14, 9/21 or 9/28 if 2K and Gearbox want to keep their September time frame originally mentioned. It is, as you've most likely glanced already, a set of new screens and posters for the DLC. Nothing too revealing, but something to make you look at and give a thought about dropping the $9. Review: Mafia II
by Binh Nguyen [ Thursday, 9th of September 2010 - 11:24 PM ]
From the moment my character woke up in the world of Mafia II, I was swimming in rich ambiance. 2K Czech did everything to put you directly into the life of Vito Scaletta. Waking up in your boxers and 'wife-beater' shirt, your buddy Joe is calling you with your next 'job'. This gives you an immediate sense of who you are that really draws you into this character. This is further supported by great narration and a robust storyline, but that is only a part of what happens in Mafia II. Let's talk about everything else. Read More...
