Get Read To Embrace The Darkness Again
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 10th of February 2011 - 04:56 PM ]
Hey I remember when The Darkness came out. I also remember I was not able to play it due to my lack of fundage but I did get to take the demo for a whirl. Obviously not enough to make any decent or well informed judgment on the game. Nor any good point of reference for the announcement of the sequel that has just been announced quite simply named The Darkness II. So for those like me or have kind of lost memory of the game from about four years ago, let me throw out the nice recap 2K Games has written up for us. It's been two years since Jackie Estacado, now the Don of the Franchetti crime family, used The Darkness to kill the men responsible for his girlfriend's murder. Read More...

Harley Is Looking Sexier Than Ever In Batman: Arkham City
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 3rd of February 2011 - 10:31 PM ]
Catwoman and Poison Ivy have nothing on Harleen Quinzel in my book. It's that little spark of true insanity that gives her that little edge for me. When you mix that with the new shot of her from Batman: Arkham City you can bet that she gets added into the "fictional character spank bank." All because you know she would teach you a thing or two about the wild side before trying to shove her oversize mallet down your throat to get a better squishy sound for Whack-A-Bat. But enough about me. Let's take a look at the rest of the new screen shots and concept art that have slipped onto the internet for Batman: AC. Read More...

Today Guardians of Graxia (Reviewed here) is getting its first full expansion pack Elves and Dwarves. With the new expansion come new guardians, new units, new abilities and six new skirmish maps. It's a pretty big deal. New Guardians First out of the gate are the new guardians, GoG is introducing a new elf and dwarf Guardian with corresponding units. First is an elf labeled as deceitful and Broxin the dwarf is greedy by nature, but aren't all dwarves really? These two guardians now bring the guardian count up to six. Read More...

Batman: Arkham City - Co-Op With Joker?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 28th of January 2011 - 10:43 PM ]
Now here is an interesting twist that could occur with the upcoming Batman: Arkham City, co-op play with the Clown Prince of Crime! At least from a video that seems to have been leaked out through a few European websites that shows just that. A nice little fight scene where Batman and Joker fight off a few waves of thugs in the streets of Arkham City. Pretty cool if it is a real thing and not some fan's attempt at internet humor and fame. There has yet to be a confirmation that this is a real clip that Warner Bros. Read More...

New L.A. Noire Trailer Sounds Good But Looks Off
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 27th of January 2011 - 05:25 PM ]
Rockstar Games just released a new game play trailer for their upcoming title, L.A. Noire. Oh and the release date of May 17th here in the US. We can all rejoice in the fact that the next Rockstar game is not too far off. Blah blah blah…oh and the trailer is added below for you to watch and get your panties in a bunch over. But before you watch this trailer try something for me, just listen to the audio first and then watch the trailer. The voice acting and sound effects sound like you are watching a great film trailer or a snippet from a great TV show. Read More...

Rule Of 3 And The Gears Of War Compilation
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of January 2011 - 06:21 PM ]
So just as Sony did when GoWIII was hitting its console, Epic is doing the same for GoW3 for the 360. Those titles being God of War III and Gears of War 3 respectfully before I move on. So yes this means that if for some reason you held out on getting either of the Gears of War titles, you can look forward to getting a combo pack with both of those games on disc to catch you up with everything before the big daddy hits. Since it is all about the number three here you also are getting the Gears of War 2: All Fronts Collection. That of course makes it a technical three titles in one box. Read More...

Story Time With The Helghast Of Killzone 3
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 17th of January 2011 - 07:02 PM ]
So here is further proof that an FPS can have a good story mixed in without the need for multi-player being the selling point. I mean let's face it, Killzone is not the franchise that all you multi-player freaks hop right out to go play. Don't you even try to deny it or swear that you do. You know just as well as I that is not true. That being the case obviously there has to be another great pull to the franchise to help sell millions of copies. It for sure isn't going to be the Move capabilities. Read More...

Bulletstorm To Blow Out Your Ass
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 16th of January 2011 - 05:53 PM ]
If there is one person in the industry that I think is a little full of himself it is Cliff Bleszinski. He has been a huge influence and factor in some of the largest FPS titles out there. I get that. I respect him for that for the most part as well. I just wish he'd get over himself and the online "fame" he claims to have or that those fan boy/girls give him. Just because he is vocal doesn't make the man any more important. But now I am off the topic of why I even brought up "Cliffy B. Read More...

Bulletstorm Will Help Sate That Gears Of War 3 Need
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of December 2010 - 06:14 PM ]
No I'm not saying that Bulletstorm is going to be the stop gap in the need for Gears Of War 3. It will however score you a slot in the GoW3 beta. Well at least if you preorder the "Epic Edition" of Bulletstorm that is coming to the XBox 360. There is no price difference for the "Epic Edition" from any standard price for a new title ($59.99) but there are a few extras outside of the Gears beta. Those being 25,000 experience points and visual upgrades for the iconic leash, deadly Peace Maker Carbine, boots and armor for online play. Read More...

Batman To Take On The Military In Arkham City
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 11th of December 2010 - 12:03 AM ]
At least that is the impression the below teaser for Batman: Arkham City is giving off. Unless some super villain inside has their gang always dress up like someone from a Tom Clancy novel. Something that would seem odd but I guess the people over at Rocksteady Games could find a way to make it work with DC's approval. But this is only one thing that caught my eye here. What caught my eye is the graphics here. Read More...

OnLive Now Giving Us Another Way To Be Voyeurs
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 10th of December 2010 - 09:47 PM ]
Raise your hand if you are a glutton for pain and torment. Also if you are a fan of being teased by others playing games while you are stuck somewhere you can't. I know my hand is staying down. But there is good news for you out there that are a fan of strip clubs and being teased. Just released on the iPad and Android Tablet is a way live spectate of any of the OnLive game sessions from around the world. That way of course being a new mobile app that is ready for download and does not, I repeat does not, require jail breaking to run the full-featured Flash, Silverlight and Windows 7 application. Just took Cloud computing to get Flash on an Apple product it seems. Read More...

Review: Poker Night At The Inventory
by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 3rd of December 2010 - 07:09 PM ]
The guys over at Telltale Games recently released a title called Poker Night At The Inventory, which pits you against some infamous characters from the gaming universe. It's an interesting deviation from your typical Telltale fare like Sam&Max and The Tales Of Monkey Island series. The title is $4.99 on Steam right now, so let's see how it holds up. The game starts in front of a door where you head down a secret elevator leading to an exclusive club: "The Inventory." Here you are greeted by the host who escorts you to a table in the back room for a poker tournament with The Heavy from Team Fortress 2, Strong Bad (nuff said), Tycho from Penny Arcade and Max from Sam&Max. Onlive Monthly Charge Making a Come Back
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 3rd of December 2010 - 02:06 PM ]
I swear the monthly charge thing for Onlive is flip flopping more than Ross Perot's candidacy for President in the 90's. First they are going to charge a monthly fee just so you can buy or rent games. Then they take away the monthly fee and leave it open for anyone that wants to buy or rent games. Now they are offering a monthly fee again. At least this time it isn't just to have access to the games you have already purchased or rented. Looks like anyone that has picked up their MicroConsole or uses the PC/Mac app will have the ability to pay $9. Read More...
