This Week In Video Games 8/7/17 — 8/10/17
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 11th of August 2017 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week Another week has come and gone and we had even more to talk about in the world of video games than was expected. At least expected by me as we are getting close to the next big gaming conventions out there and you'd think that all the studios and publishers would be holding back. Then again, we have some great titles like Assassin’s Creed Origins and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus coming up and we need to talk about those video games for sure. Then mix in some extra coverage on SDCC that we've been working on getting out to you and a few new reviews and I guess I can see how we made it a pretty hectic week again. Read More...

Review — Batman: The Enemy Within — The Enigma
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 11th of August 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
Batman We sit down and review Batman: The Enemy Within — The Enigma. This is the first episode of Telltale's second take on the Batman franchise. Here's our review on how they did He we go with another trip into Gotham as the first episode of Batman: The Enemy Within has just dropped and is continuing the story mostly where we left off. That story being however you left Gotham after the events of the first time Telltale Games brought us this fun. All with the extra level of madness Batman usually brings out in the world and he is doing it in spades here yet again. Read More...

Q.U.B.E. 2 Has Been Announced To Bring Us More Of The Amazing Franchise Again
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 11th of August 2017 - 05:00 PM ]
Q.U.B.E. A sequel to the amazing Q.U.B.E. title has been announced and we can look to be back in the saddle with Q.U.B.E. 2 next year It's been a long time coming, but Q.U.B.E. 2 has been announced and is in development to carry the whole IP along into the next generation. That sounds like a bad 80s slogan; I know. That doesn't change the fact that Toxic Games is working on a new title here and bringing us all more of the weird puzzle solving and death-defying gameplay that won many awards. All souped up with new technology as Q. Read More...

Giant Consequences Are Coming For Minecraft: Story Mode's Next Episode
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 10th of August 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
Minecraft The trailer for the next episode of Minecraft: Story Mode has been released and it looks to be filled with even more Minecraft references as we enter the arena We have a new trailer for Minecraft: Story Mode next episode to look at and try to figure out what is going on after the events of the last one. It has been an interesting trip for Jesse and crew and they were all left in a very bad place after all was said and done. A traditional cliffhanger that we know from Telltale Games here so not too shocking, but it does look like they are taking us off into whole new worlds and events set forth by The Admin that was shown off in the last episode of Minecraft: Story Mode. Put Your Trust In Brother With Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 9th of August 2017 - 07:00 PM ]
Wolfenstein A new propaganda video for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus has been released to give us yet another feel for Wolfenstein II's Nazi occupied America We had a whole lot of gameplay for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus last week and thankfully, so far, it seems like Bethesda has not come out firing off with more here this week. Yet. I must stress yet as it feels like they are trying to get a whole lot of the game out there and in our eyes as Machine Games wraps up the work on it. Read More...

Sinner: Sacrifice For Redemption Is Coming To Test Your Need For Atonement
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 9th of August 2017 - 05:00 PM ]
Sinner A new game, Sinner: Sacrifice For Redemption, has been announced and it will be testing the “Sinner” in each of us as we traverse Hell I hope you are ready to go to Hell again as we have Sinner: Sacrifice For Redemption just recently getting an announcement and a bit of a gameplay trailer to show it all off. As if this premise hasn't been done to death already in our media, but nonetheless, Dark Star Game Studios is coming together to bring us this epic story and give us some different gameplay to go with it. If you haven't heard of said studio before, it is okay. Read More...

Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds Will Be Coming Our Way This November
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 8th of August 2017 - 07:00 PM ]
Horizon Zero Dawn The release date for Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds has been set and now we can get ready for this new Horizon Zero Dawn expansion just before the holidays We all had a nice and small taste for Horizon Zero Dawn's upcoming expansion, The Frozen Wilds back at E3 when it was all first shown off. If you missed it, I've included the trailer that was shown off for it to let us all know that this PS4 game was getting a nice, new, big expansion. The only drawback was that the 'when' was never set down which had a lot of us Horizon Zero Dawn fans out there wondering when we can get our hands on it and explore the new locales and such. How Will You Customize Sebastian In The Evil Within 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 8th of August 2017 - 05:00 PM ]
The Evil Within 2 New details on The Evil Within 2's customization options have been given and it looks like The Evil Within 2 will play more how we all want and not on rails If you were hoping that The Evil Within 2 was going to be exactly like the last version of the game where you were directed down very specific paths to get through all of the horror out there, then you'll be glad to know that can still be an option for you. If that kind of game isn't for you, then you'll be happy too as it looks like Tango Gameworks has crafted the game with you in mind as well as it will be more open for exploration and have upgrades and crafting mixed in to give you an action-horror if that is your jam. Hells, it even sounds like The Evil Within 2 can be all psychological and terror filled for those who want that when Bethesda brings it to market on October 13th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Game On As The Riddler Is Here To Terrorize In Batman: The Enemy Within
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 7th of August 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
Batman The first episode of Batman: The Enemy Within has been released just in time to show us how dark this new season for Batman will be here With Batman: The Enemy Within's first episode dropping this week, I guess it is a good time to have a look at the latest trailer for the episode and see just what we could be in store for the whole ride. If anything, just what Telltale Games may have for us in the first installment of this continuation of the altered universe cannon we've had so far. Seeing as the first season's choices for Batman will be carried over and they did a few things that the comics have yet to do, I'm going to just assume this is all non-cannon for the official comic line. Review — Copoka
by Dakota B. Johnson [ Monday, 7th of August 2017 - 05:00 PM ]
Copoka We sit down and review Copoka. A little bird in a big world. Here's our review of Copoka Sometimes it is nice to play a game and just relax and that is what I was able to do with Copoka. No worry about a convoluted story or high impact action where you stick behind a wall while explosions happen every ten seconds. Copoka was even marketed as a “mellow open world exploration game.” This game is pretty short, but is also the length it needs to be to remain enjoyable. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 7/31/17 — 8/4/17
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 4th of August 2017 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week One more week of video games in the bag and there was still so much we didn't get to. Even with it only being SDCC and Animazement being the big conventions that just happened there seems to still be a whole lot of new information and updates out there. More so with Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Agents Of Mayhem, and Observer all just about to release next week and massive info dumps for all of those video games adding on to all of the other things. There is still much more we have to bring you from the conventions that will pick up next week as long as things don't go completely off the rails out there for it all. Read More...

Life Is Strange: Before The Storm Is Showing Just How The Riff For Chloe & David Started
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 3rd of August 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
Life Is Strange A new Life Is Strange: Before The Storm trailer is out now and it shows just how some of Life Is Strange's characters started to hate each other more If you've played Life Is Strange already then you know well about the strained relationship between Chloe and her "new step-douche" David. There is no denying the level of animosity between the two characters and in the new "expansion" that Deck Nine Games is bringing to us all on August 31st we are going to see just a bit more on how all of that grew to where we saw it last. Did any of us think that it all was going to start out well in Life Is Strange: Before The Storm or just be the usual "new man" in mom's life that step-parents usually go through. Read More...

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Takes Us To Roswell & All That Comes With That
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 3rd of August 2017 - 07:00 PM ]
Wolfenstein A lot of new gameplay for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus has been released and we get to see Wolfenstein's take on Roswell and all the aliens there If there is one thing, we have not been in a drought of gameplay for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. It almost seems like we can't go a full week without some new bit of gameplay for the game getting placed out to excite and titillate. It's almost like Machine Games doesn't want there to be any surprises when Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus launches on October 27th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Then again, this could just be faith in the project that Bethesda has so that we can get almost an hour more of gameplay and still have so much yet to be seen and experienced in the full game. Review — Minecraft: Story Mode — Hero In Residence
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of August 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
Minecraft We sit down and review Minecraft: Story Mode — Hero In Residence. This is the first episode of Telltale's second take on Mojang's famed Minecraft franchise. Here's our review on how they did It's time to kick off yet another season for Minecraft: Story Mode as the first episode has dropped on the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices with it coming soon to the Switch. All of this is something you should have known by now, but none the less Telltale Games is back at it trying to give us a great story set in the universe that Mojang has crafted that only has stories if we so define them. At least that has always been my takeaway for Minecraft before now and enjoy seeing it through the lens of another. Read More...

The Walking Dead Is Getting A Fourth & Final Season Next Year
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of August 2017 - 05:00 PM ]
The Walking Dead During SDCC it was revealed that The Walking Dead from Telltale will be getting one more season to wrap up The Walking Dead story we've been waiting for There was a lot of good news to come out of SDCC this year but what we have here is a mix of good and bad as The Walking Dead: The Final Season has been announced to be in the works and heading to us sometime in 2018. Obviously we can see the good news here as we will get to see Clementine back in action and dig into some of the best storytelling that Telltale Games can offer, but it also means that all of this will be coming to an end here. I'm going to go on a limb and guess this is due to the fact that The Walking Dead is over saturating the market with all of the other titles they have coming out there, but it could just be that the team wants to move on to other things or maybe other aspects of the universe.
