August 4th Wii Shop Channel Update
by Andy [ Tuesday, 5th of August 2008 - 03:18 AM ]
This week was a very small release for the VC and WiiWare games. Nintendo pushes the updates at 9 A.M. PST every monday, just incase you didn't know or were wondering. I know it gets hard to keep track of what is released! WiiWare Wild West Guns (Gameloft, 1-2 players, Rated T for Teen—Violence, 1,000 Wii Points): Draw your revolver to see if you're the fastest gun in the West. Adjust your speed and precision as targets or enemies appear in front of you. Point and shoot to earn more points. Read More...

IdolM@ster Makes Jump From 360 To PSP In Japan
by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 5th of August 2008 - 12:02 AM ]
Namco Bandai announced last week that their hit game series IdolM@ster will be released for the Sony PSP this winter in Japan, as not 1 title, but 3 seperate titles.  For those not familiar with the IdolM@ster series, the game is a virtual simulator where you create your very own Japanese Music Idol.  You handle their schedule, costumes, song choices, and happiness/stress levels, to create the #1 Idol.  The series has been a huge hit in arcades and one of the biggest hits on the Xbox 360 in Japan. Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad Hacking Sexily Onto 360
by Michael Camacho [ Monday, 4th of August 2008 - 11:25 PM ]
As a fan of Japanese import titles, it's was a big surprise to find out one of my favorite budget title series was headed to the Xbox 360.  D3Publisher (Dark Sector) has announced Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad for the 360 without an official release date. You will take controls of the sexy sword swigning sisters Aya and Saki, as you take on zombie hordes in order to save the world.  The game title is not misleading in the least, as you will be in control of Aya who has basically a bikini, hat and boots on as she fights, while her sister Saki is in a Japanese schoolgirl uniform. There will be multiple game modes to let you immerse yourself in the experience of Onechanbara, to include Story, Free Play, Survival, Quest and more. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 2nd of August 2008 - 06:13 PM ]
Final Fantasy XIII Demo Yes, you read the above title right. There will be a demo for Square-Enix's new Final Fantasy out early next year. How early? Well it looks like March 9th will be the magical date. At least this is what was announced at a private event at DKΣ3713. On top of all that, there will be new footage for the other games coming out in the series as well. I'm talking FFXIII Versus and FXIII Agito here. There are a few catches though... Read More...

VIDEO GAMES LIVE ALBUM DEBUTS AT #10 ON THE BILLBOARD CHARTS! So I was going to write another review on the Comic Con Video Games Live show, but I saw this and thought this was a better way to say how cool it was. I will point out that it is a different show depending on where you see it, the show in San Diego had fireworks and a different game they played on stage. Not to mention the Cos-Play of the people adding to the whole thing. Pics are below. Read More...

Something For The Cranky Dwarf In All Of Us
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 31st of July 2008 - 07:55 PM ]
American McGee's Grimm: A Boy Learns What Fear Is I know I like free stuff. I also like vidja games. What could be better than Free Vidja Games? Right? Well I guess ones about a twisted version of the fairy tales we all grew to love. Even though the originals were twisted in the first place, but I digest... It would seem that today marks the first release of the new American McGee game, Grimm. You may know his work for twisting up Alice in Wonderland a few years back. Read More...

Trophies For Another Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 31st of July 2008 - 04:47 PM ]
PixelJunk Eden: Oh Glorious Gardens...and Did We Mention Trophies? So it looks like last night on the PSBlog, a little bit was posted on the new PSN game PixelJunk Eden. To be perfectly honest, I haven't tried the first version of this game and most likely won't try this one. Just doesn't look like my kind of game. But I thought it was worth a mention. Now, I bet you are thinking to yourself "Why the fuck even bring this up then? Read More...

Sum Up Of E3 Under 6 Minutes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 30th of July 2008 - 08:38 PM ]
Zero Punctuation Take On E3 Since I am a man of my word and like to tell you all about things that most of you probably know about, I'll be hitting this up as they get updated as well. The quick and dirty of it, is this guy does some great reviews and rants about games today. Granted, I have only seen on review where he praise the game 100%, but it always good for a laugh and see what others think. This week's video is about how bad this year's E3 was. Boy do I agree with most of the points here. Read More...

Is Activision Blizzard canning games?
by Nikole [ Tuesday, 29th of July 2008 - 08:35 PM ]
The newly formed duo of Activision Blizzard has presented there schedule of releases. While many titles were mentioned, several highly publicized games received none whatsoever. Terminal Reality, 50 Cent: Blood in the Sand and most notably: Ghostbusters, were all absent from the list. The lack of these titles, as well as massive "realignments" with the staff of High Moon Studio and Radical Entertainment, is leading many to wonder if some titles and studios are being dropped because of the merger. It is already known that Massive Entertainment and Swordfish Studios are being considered for sale or closure at this time. The situation was made even more grim when the company released information stating several titles would be dropped. Read More...

WoW And The Real Life
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 28th of July 2008 - 11:07 PM ]
The Guild: DVD Being a man of my word *best Joker Impression*, on two fronts, I had to post something about this great Web series as well as their new DVD on sale at Comic Con, or you can get as of 8/1. First, I got asked by people here to make sure that the actors of the show knew about our site here. After three days of stalking them (pics below), I was having issues getting proper representation for the site, but I hooked them up with a professional implementation of advertisement. The other part, I told Felicia, Vincent and Sandeep that I would give them some webtime. Read More...

Gears of War 2: Linked Achievements
by Nikole [ Monday, 28th of July 2008 - 10:03 PM ]
In Gears of War 2 news, the people of Epic seem to really understand their audience. Epic loves us for exactly what we are, a bunch of achievement whores. Now while some people may be above spending time going through games solely to raise their gamer score, most of us are not. Epic has created a whole new type of achievement system, called "linked" achievements. Linked Achievements occur when someone obtains an achievement in the first game(Gears of War), this then unlocks new content in the second game(Gears of War 2). Some examples of this are:- Complete Act One in Gears Of War, unlock a playable Anthony Carmine in Gears of War 2- Find 10 COG tags in Gears Of War, unlock Minh Young Kim in Gears of War 2- Kill Raam in Gears Of War, unlock a playable Raam in Gears of War 2According to xboxfocus. Set Phasers To MMO
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 28th of July 2008 - 08:59 PM ]
Star Trek Online So I frequent the Cryptic Studios stuff now and again, forums and booths at conventions. Hell, on Saturday, I even went to their VIP party for City of Heroes players and Devs. Please don't ask how it was. But this was something that kind of caught me off guard. In fact, I didn't know it was under their belt until today when they turned on their interwebs for the game sit and posted screen shots. The game? Well the title said it, Star Trek Online.
