Bringing Back The Love Of Horror It has been a long time since I have had a game creep me out like the original Resident Evil did when I was a kid. Within the first twenty minutes of playing the game I felt the blood pumping with anticipation and a little excitement. And this isn't even anywhere near into the story at all. Dead Space Has Gone Gold So they announced today that Dead Space has gone gold. No surprise there with the release date no more than two weeks away. And that they have bumped the release date forward twice now. I will be one of the first to admit that when I heard about Pirates vs. Ninja Dodge ball, I was genuinely intrigued and interested. Unfortunately, the game is very quick to disappoint on any expectations you may have had. Which is unfortunate, as this game could have been a very fun Xbox Live Arcade title. The game, as the title suggests, features Pirates and Ninjas playing dodge ball against each other, as well as Robots and Zombies. Gabe Newell has announced a playable demo of the co-op survival horror game Left 4 Dead that will be released for both Xbox 360 and PC and will feature both single player mode and online co-op play. Newell states: "I don't know what the date is for release [of the demo] though. I think it's going to contain the first part of one of the campaigns. I think it'll probably be Hospital but I'm not sure." The game is to hit shelves at the end of November, so we may or may not get to try it before it's release. Read More...

South Peak Interactive was on hand promoting the upcoming hack & slash game, entitled X-Blades. It’s developed by Gaijin Entertainment & TopWare Interactive, and features a scantily clad main character, named Ayumi. The basic premise of the game is a button masher with an attractive female protagonist. I had been looking forward to this game for a long time, so I will share my impressions of the game with you. Many great new games are coming out this upcoming holiday season and fortunately for me, I had a chance to play some at this year's Penny Arcade Expo (PAX). One of the must talked about games, Left 4 Dead (L4D), was available to play at Valve's booth. Throughout the whole convention, the L4D booth was packed to the gills with people eager to kill some zombies. After playing the first Saints Row for more hours than I can possibly count, I’ve been extremely excited since the announcement of Saints Row 2 coming in 2008. After one delay, which has pushed the game back to October 14 2008, I about lost my mind. But I would not have to wait that long to at least get a test run, and this is where PAX 2008 comes into play. After a short five minute play through during the media time on Friday, I knew I had to get back and play the full first mission of Saints Row. EA's survival horror space shooter Dead Space, which was supposed to come out on Halloween night (October 31st), has now been pushed forward. Earlier today EA stated that the console versions of the game would be hitting store shelves on October 24th, a full week earlier than originally announced. Much anticipated Valve game, Left 4 Dead, has been pushed back until November 20th. At least this is still in time for the holiday season, so you can eat your christmas cookies while blastig zombies away. At least I know I will be! "Left 4 Dead is going to be released on the tenth anniversary of Half-Life, our first game," said Newell. "That will be on November 20th, the third week in November." According to the upcoming DKS3713 issue of Famitsu magazine, The upcoming PS3 demo of Final Fantasy XIII will clock in at a longer running time than the CGI film, Final Fantasy Advent Children. The original version of Advent Children is about 101mins long. The Blu-Ray version will feature scenes that were either cut out or not finished in time for the final release. Here is a list of other tidbits revealed from the three-page spread in Famitsu: -The Final Fantasy XIII demo will be based from the opening section of the game. -The demo will come on a separate disc rather than on the Advent Children Blu-ray.
