Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - Ultimate Character Reveal (Deadpool)
by Jesse [ Tuesday, 7th of July 2009 - 03:19 PM ]
There’s a reason they call Deadpool the “Merc with a Mouth”, the guy literally never shuts up, even when his head has been removed from the rest of his body. He is by far the most insane character in comics which makes it a little hard to believe any one of his possible backstories. Generally it is known that he was born to a father who served in the United States Army eventually rising to the rank of general. His mother had died due to a terminal illness when Deadpool, real name Wade Wilson, was a young boy. Wade joined the army when he was older enlisting with the Special Forces. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 6th of July 2009 - 07:43 PM ]
L4D2 Multiplayer Demo Wanna get to play Left 4 Dead 2 a little early? Well at least the Multiplayer aspect of the game, as if there is any other form of the game. I jest. But in any instance, Valve has a way for you to get your hands on the game a few weeks before the full launch on the 17th of November this year. It is another to contrite either and for both console and PC versions of the game. How? Read More...

Belated E3 Impressions: Jade Dynasty
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 23rd of June 2009 - 03:37 PM ]
There is an unfair bias among many in the media here in North America against micro-transactions and free-to-play Massive Multiplayer Online games. That somehow if you play a non-subscription-based system (i.e. World of Warcraft), you’ll catch some communicable disease of un-coolness. What most gaming enthusiast journalists fail to focus on is this market is increasing by huge leaps daily with more and more players, especially individuals who would never play something like World of Warcraft but put tens of hours a week into one of these free-to-play MMOs. At E3 this year, I stopped by Perfect World Entertainment to see their assortment of free-to-play MMOs, especially Jade Dynasty. I had an opportunity to sit with Andrew Brown, the game’s product manager, to discuss the open beta and upcoming release. Read More...

*UPDATE* Left 4 Dead 2 for the PS3?
by Binh Nguyen [ Sunday, 21st of June 2009 - 04:04 PM ]
"But wait I thought Left 4 Dead was an XBox/PC exclusive and Valve is not a huge fan of the PS3?" You are correct on that view. At E3 when Valve announced that there will be a sequel for this zombie-fest of a game a lot of people were a bit surprised that Valve is releasing the sequel so quickly. But is the game also going to be appearing for the PS3? According to EA official website, not only did they list the game for the PS3 as a “Coming Soon”, but also a cover art for the PS3 version of the game. Read More...

Aggrocast Episode Thirty Two: RadNerd Invasion
by Michael Camacho [ Thursday, 18th of June 2009 - 09:23 PM ]
E3 is over and we are all back after much needed rest, but yet we do not come alone this episode. We are pleased to have on as our guests this episode Beau and Leo from Radnerd.com and the hilarity ensues. We try to stay on topic as we discuss E3 and what we saw and thought of various games, talk about what we've been playing and what's been happening since E3. That's probably not in order, but it won't matter anyway as you hear one of the most exciting podcasts we've recorded so far. So, don't forget to check out Radnerd. Read More...

Review: Prototype [PS3]
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 18th of June 2009 - 07:21 PM ]
A Perfect Infected Evolution Imagine awaking in a morgue as your chest is about to be cut open, Heroes style, to then be chased by doctors and military for unknown reasons. Not even because they think you are a zombie. Then throw in the fact that you start to show signs of super human abilities and powers. When you try to figure out what is going on, you realize you have no memory of even how you got on the slab. How would you react? Read More...

E3 Impressions: Left 4 Dead 2
by Ben Brody [ Monday, 8th of June 2009 - 03:33 AM ]
Let's be honest, while it may be a little early to be talking sequel, all of us that played Left 4 Dead could bet the house that a second incarnation was certain. On November 17th, just 364 days after the first, Valve will release Left 4 Dead 2 for the Xbox 360 and PC. Left 4 Dead 2 takes place during the same zombie outbreak as the first game, but features a new pair of 4 survivors, Rochelle, Coach, Ellis, and Nick. While it wasn't quite clear what the new campaigns were apart from the fact that it will take place in the South US (the game starts in Savannah and ends in New Orleans), Scott Dalton, a level designer on the game, said that more of the story will be explored, including the reason for the outbreak. Valve made sure to fix many complaints of the original game, and tweaks are apparent during the demo. Read More...

E3 Impressions: Battlefield Bad Company 2
by Ben Brody [ Sunday, 7th of June 2009 - 06:29 PM ]
The boys from Bad Company are back and are in even more trouble as they face off in the cold Russian winter. While the focus of the Battlefield Bad Company series is certainly on the singleplayer campaign mode, the E3 demonstration was of a gold rush-style multiplayer map.Gold rush is essentially the same as it is from the first game, a team of attackers vs a team of defenders fighting over crates gold. While it is no longer called "gold rush" (the crates no longer contain gold) the objective is the same, secure and plant explosives on 8 crates (4 series of 2) or vice versa for the defenders. The multiplayer classes have been trimmed from 5 classes to 4 (support is no longer in the game), and while I prefer more classes (my favorite game in the series, Battlefield 2, has 7 playable classes with the option to play as the commander), I understand that it makes the game more accessible to gamers new to the series. We Need Some Support Up Here Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 22nd of May 2009 - 04:22 PM ]
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Trailer and Screen Shots When the first game came out, EA was totally trying to show their lighter side with some pretty funny clips and shots from the game. Something that most of us got use to seeing and having a good laugh at to get us excited about the game. For some reason that is unknown to me, it would seem they are going a different route with this one. At least from the start. I'm expecting to see some things like that in the future, but for now, we get some serious stuff. Read More...

Street Fighter IV PC gets a free bonus!
by Ben Brody [ Sunday, 10th of May 2009 - 05:39 AM ]
Or so Capcom thinks. Either way, anybody that picks up SFIV for the PC will get a MadCatz Fightpad for free. The game is priced a bit higher than most PC games at $59.99 but a $39.99 game plus a $39.99 fightpad is good enough for me. Gamers may wonder why MadCatz is so busy making PC fightpads when there is a shortage of console ones, but the fact is is that nobody wants to play Street Fighter with a mouse and keyboard (awaits barrage of ppl yelling at me that they play it on an emulator with a keyboard all the time).Capcom will release Street Fighter IV (Games for Windows Live for those that don't know) on July 7th here in the States. Japanese PSP Game Shocks Otaku
by Michael Camacho [ Thursday, 7th of May 2009 - 10:15 PM ]
Japanese PSP game, Toradora! Portable, a visual novel game based on the anime Toradora!, has managed to shock and please numerous otaku. Sankaku Complex reported earlier that when one completes Taiga's Scenario in game to 100% completion, you are greeted with a rather surprise ending. Fans come to the realization that Taiga is in fact pregnant with Ryuji's child. There are other scenarios available to complete with two other characters, Ami and Minorin, but no word on how they end as of yet. Toradora! Read More...
