Shattered Horizon gets Dedicated
by Binh Nguyen [ Saturday, 5th of December 2009 - 09:00 PM ]
We all know that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 took away dedicated servers from PC gamers. This is not the case for Shattered Horizon. On December 4th, 2009 Futuremark Games Studio finally allows for a dedicated server for Shattered Horizon, a multiplayer first-person shooter played in zero gravity. At least PC gamers will be able to choose how they want to play Shattered Horizon and who they want to play with. Players will be getting greater protection from cheats, hackers and griefers. Splatterhouse A Metaphor For Black Friday?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 1st of December 2009 - 01:33 PM ]
Just in time for the horrors we will all endure for the holiday shopping. A little something to get us all in the mood to go to the mall and deal with all the demon faced humans happy going, gift shoppers of America. A sight that, if you are lucky, will look like the below screens. Blood and creatures included. At least if you use your imaginations or go to Walmart after the ads have been placed out there. Enough jesting. Read More...

I Think Splatterhouse Could Use More Gore
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 14th of October 2009 - 01:25 PM ]
Wow, it's hard to believe it has been over 20 years since the original Splatterhouse came out in arcades and then ported to the TurboGrafx 16. It was only thought to be remade by BottleRocket Entertainment earlier this year. Now it is all being handled by Namco Bandai Games who took on a few of the collapsed developer. But that is a different tale altogether. This one is all about how things have been progressing for Splatterhouse since the shift. Read More...

Hazardous to Your Health
by Kevin [ Monday, 5th of October 2009 - 09:53 PM ]
So the General has summoned his old adversaries and Matt has to spring back into action. Now, here's what I'm thinking, because the game has been touted as being so closely in resemblance to Shadow Complex, that the parodies seen in this will deal with the side scrolling shooters that we hold so dear. That is to say, there needs to be a Contra level, where one death should actually reset your system and then your console of choice should burst into unholy flame. I'm pretty sure that was everyone's Contra's experience, right? Read More...

In Corollary To Real Warfare
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of July 2009 - 07:43 PM ]
Battlefield 1943 Launch Trailer A few things have happened in the world over the last week or two. Outside of "famous" people loosing their mortal coil. We've celebrated our freedom, US at least. We've lost some more people who give us our freedoms. We've gained a game that lets a simulate what people have gone through to give us these freedoms. That game being Battlefield 1943. Well at least console gamers have gained the game. Read More...

All thing Blizzard! No support for LAN?
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 29th of June 2009 - 09:48 PM ]
How did StarCraft become so popular when the game first came out? Well that's simple. It was because Blizzard made it easy for everyone to have LAN parties. Well that is not the case with StarCraft II according to incgamers.com as they interviewed VP of Game Design Rob Pardo of Blizzard. Pardo stated, "We don't have any plans to support LAN." Then flat out said, "we will not support it and only multiplayer available will be on Battle.net. Read More...

Chance for some 1943 Want a chance to get your grubby mitts on some Battlefield 1943 for the platform of your choice? Have a digital camera and minor photoshop skills? Have access and the testicular fortitude to force a GameStop employee to take a picture with you while holding a game in your hands? Then does Dice and EA have a challenge for you to get 1943 in your hands. Run through the games Official Twitter page and their actual home page, they are giving that chance I talked about. E3 Impressions: Battlefield Bad Company 2
by Ben Brody [ Sunday, 7th of June 2009 - 06:29 PM ]
The boys from Bad Company are back and are in even more trouble as they face off in the cold Russian winter. While the focus of the Battlefield Bad Company series is certainly on the singleplayer campaign mode, the E3 demonstration was of a gold rush-style multiplayer map.Gold rush is essentially the same as it is from the first game, a team of attackers vs a team of defenders fighting over crates gold. While it is no longer called "gold rush" (the crates no longer contain gold) the objective is the same, secure and plant explosives on 8 crates (4 series of 2) or vice versa for the defenders. The multiplayer classes have been trimmed from 5 classes to 4 (support is no longer in the game), and while I prefer more classes (my favorite game in the series, Battlefield 2, has 7 playable classes with the option to play as the commander), I understand that it makes the game more accessible to gamers new to the series. We Need Some Support Up Here Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 22nd of May 2009 - 04:22 PM ]
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Trailer and Screen Shots When the first game came out, EA was totally trying to show their lighter side with some pretty funny clips and shots from the game. Something that most of us got use to seeing and having a good laugh at to get us excited about the game. For some reason that is unknown to me, it would seem they are going a different route with this one. At least from the start. I'm expecting to see some things like that in the future, but for now, we get some serious stuff. Read More...

Hell, It is about time!
by Binh Nguyen [ Friday, 8th of May 2009 - 07:29 AM ]
Am I reading this right? Beta testing for Starcraft 2? I say, “Hell, It’s about time!”. You know what that means right? That means I (if I even get the beta key) get to test out a game that I have waited over 10 years for. Blizzard president Mike Morhaime confirmed today (or yesterday depending on when you read this) by saying “This summer we will be opening up external beta testing, and while we haven’t announced a release date yet, this phase will also signal the final stretch [of development on the game]” I bet you are wondering how you can sign up for the beta. Well fear not lurkers, it’s really simple. Go to Battle. Read More...

Report is in sir!
by Binh Nguyen [ Sunday, 19th of April 2009 - 06:43 PM ]
For all you StarCraft junkies out there, Blizzard has released a second "Battle Report" for your viewing pleasure. In the video you will see Matt Cooper and David Kim facing off as Matt is using the Zerg race and David is using the Terrans race. The video really display the strength and weakness on both races which at one point I thought Matt Cooper was really going to dominate over David Kim, but David really came back and won  the match with updating his techs and forces to turn the tide on Matt Cooper. The new units and upgrades that blizzard released was shown here and to be honest with  you it really tickled me in a way that i cannot wait to try out those new units and abilities.I for one is really itching for this game to come out (when ever that may be) for the PC. As you most likely also already figured, there are some new things to show off here for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Good Looking Splat!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 9th of February 2009 - 11:49 PM ]
New Splatterhouse Trailer A new trailer for the game Splatterhouse has been unleashed upon the world from Game Trailers today, showcasing a bit more about this game that has kind of been underground for a while now. For quite some time there has yet to be any really new substance. But the below video clip shows that this game is still trudging along rather well. It has even got me to look a little further into it because of the play style looks to have. It looks a lot like a God of War type game, with demons. Read More...

[PC Review] Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 15th of December 2008 - 04:06 AM ]
Episodes 1-4 So I want to preface this review with a little something. I am a casual Strong Bad fan. By that I mean that I watch the flash videos every now and then and am not so entrenched into the whole Strong Bad world or Strongbaddia world if you will. I thought this important so the hard core fans don’t say I am leaning one way or the other. With that said, here we go. For the most part this game plays through, via “episodes,” much like the clips of flash video. Read More...
